@mietze We need a Your Fun Is Not My Fun But Your Fun Is OK variant of the kinky one just for this.

@ganymede He is also healthy as a horse, so these things just don't occur to him, for the most part.

RE: RL Anger
Our insurance is changing again.
Our choices are due today.
Guess when the husband mentions this?...just after lunch.
So I look over the options and tell him there's no way around going for the second tier one for our needs.
"I wanna go with the cheaper one!"
"..the one with the $4k prescription deductible? That still leaves 20% after that, vs. '$15 for generics' across the board with no deductible?"
"Yeah."
"...would have been nice to know this before I started on a $250/month generic that is actually working."
"Oh. But... do you need it?"
"Only if I'd like to stay sane and/or alive?"
"Well, can we talk about it?"FML.

RE: RL things I love
@ninjakitten I'll have to see when the sun's back.
Might be able to get the husband to take a few swatchy pics. We didn't do pics this time because my scalp is kinda joker green for the moment.

RE: RL things I love
My hair is now more or less iridescent teal.
May not be what we planned, but hot damn if I will complain.

RE: Holiday materialism! Let's talk gifts.
Floorspace.
This is not a thing someone can give, really, but it's #1 on my wish list. If anything, it means giving more crap in the house away, so I'm absurdly on board with this wish list item for all the reasons.

RE: Creative/Clean insults?
I always liked the old Foghorn Leghorn 'about as sharp as a sack of wet mice', and ye olde 'What color is the sky in your world?'
'...and, still, you're talking.'
'Oh, you were serious?'

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@jibberthehut Of course there isn't. It's time for everyone's annual salad no one will eat because they want to leave room for more stuffing.

RE: RL Anger
@ganymede I have run out of fingers and toes counting the times people have asked me what I have against <thing>, when <thing> is something I have never even heard of -- so... that. Very much that.

RE: Have you ever cosplayed as your/a MU character?
Not the same by a mile, but I aim to collect bizarre tees dedicated to each of the roles I've played on HorrorMU.
Starting with this one. No clue on the second yet, but this is looking promising for the third.

RE: MU Things I Love
...when a couple people appear as if from nowhere, and are all awesome. Just right out of the blue, pure awesome, and hit the ground running (...smack dab into the fun kind of trouble, usually).

RE: Random links
The 'History of Horror' series currently running gets into this quite a lot, re: 'it can be done'.
Agreed that this was not the way. And it hasn't been the way it's successful when it is/has been.

RE: RL Anger
You're talking to someone whose ideal weather is about 50*F, sunny, and crisp. Summer can go right to hell. Summer is hell.
This.
But did it really have to start snowing like hell the day before I have to set up for an art show? Really?
We couldn't have waited like, a week on that?

RE: Bloopers
@runescryer Not going to lie, there is a part of me that wants to ICly butt-dial someone now to do that on purpose some day, because I'm a horrible person.

RE: RL Anger
@rnmissionrun This.
$250k of surgery and medical costs 5 days after insurance kicked in, since they switched us randomly from one to another through husband's work at the start of that year.
That $5k deductible? Yeah, I'm alive to pay for it, so this is not my complaining face. Four hours later into the ER and I would not have been.
Puts things in very sharp perspective when it happens.

RE: RL Anger
@misadventure said in RL Anger:
We found out by going to the dentist.
That is the absolute worst way to find out.
Check to see if your state has dental-only options through the exchanges and whatnot? Mine supposedly does, and damn are we ever going to be looking into that this year. (It'd be about $50 or so a month I think for the husband and I last I looked, but my teeth are satan and that's less than the cost of a single crown for a whole year, and I keep cracking the fuckers in my sleep.
)

RE: Critters!
@ganymede This just reminds me of how we have wasted like $10 trying to get the wee Starfire plush from the grip of THE CLAW at the diner. (The husband did catch us a Raven, though.)
Odds of us wasting another dinner's worth of cash on more attempts? High.
...this is how people who aren't especially into plush toys end up with a bajillion of them anyway, for real.
The cats love sleeping on them, though!
