We're still kicking around, reworking some stuff on the wiki. Stripped it back down to a more manageable wolf/vamp/mortal/M+ layout again.

Yup! It's just slow, cause I'm wanting to get it perfect instead of half-perfect. The big to-do's are grid descing and data entry. The wiki lives at cityofshadowsmux.com and the game is the same with the port of 2860.

Need to get Theno's mage code in, comb through help/news/shelp files and update. Right now I'm wading through the tilts and conditions code to update to the current splats (M/m+/mage/vamp/wolf), then to get them on the wiki. Lots to do if you're bored and want to help :3

I have more time these days. Baby is in a routine and the 14" incision from the early c-section is healed nicely.

ETA: I posted an example of how the praxes were handled. I feel I have a heavy hand when it comes to politics and am too easily read? Visible? Not subtle? That's why I feel like I suck with politics.

I think part of what might be overlooked here is that @Arkandel wasn't a staffer on BITN, either. He was a player, running a PrP for fellow players.

The player went not to the actual ST running the plot, but to staff. Which the ST wasn't. Now, what @ThatOneDude is talking about re: 'use staff to coordinate with the ST if we're not around at the same time' is a valid possibility regarding intent. Schedules being what they are, that is a thing that sometimes happens and it's easier to handle through a cc'd +job with everybody all on the same page (especially if +comms or whatever the players-only version isn't installed, and it wasn't on BITN from what I recall... and most people don't know about it even when/if it is installed somewhere).

It's more, 'this isn't something you'd get every detail of in a single roll'. It's more suited to a collection of different rolls for different aspects of the very complex problem. It's not a single action required to understand the totality of it. In another thread, I used the example of 'players need to blow up a satellite'. This would require a number of steps to accomplish, and it wouldn't be reasonable to do it in one roll. Similar issue, and would involve a number of different skills depending on what the thing actually is. Academics would be the step that helps get there, but is it an (Occult) paranormal gateway? A (Science) singularity? And so on.

Do note, on Rhost, changing the timeout only applies when the individual characters next connect -- the timeout is set on the connection itself so updating it doesn't update that value. This has confused the hell out of me in the past.

I do have a system called +plots. It's basically a way to toss out plots staff wants run, or ideas players pitch. It's pretty neat. I found on a site that had a repository of code (not github). It's inelegant, but I added some things and made tweaks (like +plot/add posts to a bboard like +events does, so they can work in tandem.).

Sounds like the hard part might be getting people to play the 'what if' game to chat up ideas and inspirations for plots, or encourage people to request plots.

Though, getting handed a pre-written script to ST would suck. I won't do it 😛 I like keeping people on their toes a bit.

My backgrounds on games tend to be roughly a page. Enough to give a base for the character to start from but avoiding unnecessary detail, that is what IC conversations are for.
And this pretty much equates to both what I have in mind when i talk with a table top GM about the char I am making and what I expect a player in a table top to be able to give me. Not written out of course but in conversation during that first c-gen session.

Holy crap. After much insanity, I'm going to work on getting TDM back in-line and rolling forward. Apparently, the only time I actually get to MU* is when I am at work, and so I'll be able to work on rebuilding TDM's momentum on fri/sat of every week. i picked up a part time post and I babyait an empty, smallish building by my lonesome. It's kind of peaceful.

Anyway! If you played, or were interested, or had stories and ideas, let me know!

The only caveat is that I still don't really know 2.0 mage, at all, and could really use a staffer that does.

So! I am looking for a handful of numbers minded folks to help me playtest the grid vs grid system.

We're just a few things away from being able to do a soft 'Please don't break the game' open, and I want to work out some kinks in the Survival System before then.

      Things Left To Do:

Data entry for help/news/shelp/snews with all the commands for the code that's been in.

      Check for broken code.

I have someone working on a Defining Moments code - it'll be akin to an xp log and aspirations. Staff settable with a timestamp. I'm a bit waffly on staff setting it, but I think that would keep people from altering their history. And, more importantly, keeps staff in touch with what is going on and what people are interested in and helps to make plots more personal to pcs.

Add in a few more codey things. +ic/+ooc, a notes system, get things locked (I need a bit more sleep and less caffeine before tackling code!), and I'm definitely open to suggestions on what might be code to look at adding in later. (A more complex feeding code, and loci are on the list.)
