Did I not get the memo on "gaslighting is the new buzzword"? I swear this is the only place I hear this phrase come up more than once in a blue moon, and weirdly enough, it seems to only ever come from a certain crowd.

RE: DC Rebirth
For the record, they appear to be okay with non-n52 versions of characters, it just appears to be that the n52 version is assumed to be the 'default', for purposes of making things easier.

RE: New Project?
I would really like to get to try 2e Promethean somewhere.
Beyond that, jesus, it'd be nice to have 2e ANYTHING. I don't even know of any 2e games anymore.

RE: Marvel: 1963
Personally, mixing Marvel/DC just waters down both to me. Feels wrong-fun to me, and I've honestly never seen a particularly well-done scene with say Batman/Spider-Man (fucking wrote superman here, whoops) together.
Doing both in 'one universe' just seems super fanservice-y/"we need players".
I prefer single universe games, but I also recognize I'm in the minority, because the two single-uni games, DC Rebirth and Marvel Reborn are dead as fuck.

RE: New Project?
Another moon gift associated with your auspice.
As in, when they start releasing more gifts for each specific auspice, like they did in 1e.
Rahu can not learn Crescent Moon/New Moon/etc.

RE: Sin City Chronicles
The same usual batch of people who make these cookie-cutter multisphere games with approximately 0 effort put into the setting/theme and then abandon them in a matter of months, I'd assume.
Oh wait, I'm probably not allowed to say that around this crowd.
Good luck and all that, but it feels like we see this song and dance from the same people over and over and they always flake out, without fail, then come back 6 months later to "bask in the attention of being the heroes of MUing" again.

RE: Learning how to apply appropriate boundaries
Appropriate boundaries?
-
Keep a separation between MSB and actually playing any MUs.
-
Don't give your RL information to people from MUs. I don't care how good they TS'd you.

If your spidey sense starts tingling that somebody is being a douchebag and/or creep, you're probably right and should avoid that person.

RE: [Original Supernatural/Vampire MUSH] Houses of the Blood MUSH
That's actually pretty interesting.
Probably one of the most reasonable ways to handle "older vampires" actually being a little stronger than young ones 'at CG'.
It still costs them something (advantage points), and lets people do their elder concept without feeling gimped, and doesn't /really/ give them free XP or anything.

RE: Witcher MUSH Brainstorm (SPOILERS)
@Bobotron had an idea about something like that, when he was kicking around the idea of a Log Horizon/SAO-esque MMO type MUSH. I really like the idea of it, and possibly an inventory/equipment/money/etc system but I'm not sure how you'd handle it. Edit : Note, a far more detailed/interactive inventory/etc than WoD MU*s have, before somebody mentions that system.

RE: [Original Supernatural/Vampire MUSH] Houses of the Blood MUSH
So, with your House being both your 'lineage' as well as your 'political organization' of sorts, I was curious about something.
Would 'switching teams' ever be allowed, thematically?
Say I make an Octavius because I like the theme for my character's history and why she was chosen to be a vampire, blah blach whatever.
Six months into playing the character, maybe she doesn't agree with the political decisions/direction of the House at all, or whatever.
Is there any way in which that character could go more fully align herself to some other house? Or are you expected to be loyal to your House, flat out the end, and doing something like that would just get you cast out as a pariah or something since you can't be trusted?

RE: Constructive (keyword) Criticism of Arx Systems
@meg ur nail polish is gauche and your haircut looks like...oh wait, this isn't the hogpit
Uh.
What's the deal with haggle? Are nobles not supposed to do it, or what?
Why does a game like Arx not have more system guides?
Nobody really tells you how to /use/ any of the systems. Sure, they'll tell you "enter this command, and then do this, and you get X". Nobody is telling you 'oh yeah, you need to do x, y, and z, to actually get much out of doing this thing', even though most of the not-new players know that stuff.
I don't know if it's because the game is "competitive" or what, but people seem incredibly inclined towards keeping the 'tricks' they learn about the systems to themselves, and the only way to learn these things as a new player is "just go run face first into the wall 20 times until you figure it out".

RE: Dream Chasers MUSH (JRPG/Anime)
Good luck to you guys! Updates on when new themes get added would be awesome (Wild Arms 2 or other Star Oceans). The dungeon thing seems like a pretty awesome idea. Even if it's not "perfect" mechanically or w/e, it should give a pretty solid framework/motivation for people to go 'do stuff'.
I tend to have a recurring problem with these sorts of games, personally. Yes, yes, I'm sure I'm a horrible person but I don't like to play OCs on games with FCs and everybody I'd like to play is usually taken/not in setting.
This has reminded me I have a willing-to-sacrifice-babies level urge to play Agrias somewhere (preferably with a slightly more cohesive theme/setting than somewhere like Multiverse Crisis or w/e it's called). If anybody knows somewhere that'd be possible, please give me this information.

RE: Constructive (keyword) Criticism of Arx Systems
It's kind of weird to see pretty much...all of Arx's staff continue with the "oh it's just a fun minigame haha!" thing, when Prestige is tied, in significant ways, to pretty much every manner of generating resources/silver/etc.
The other thing is...it doesn't even make "social characters" valuable or useful.
Being a social character doesn't matter.
The only thing that matters is "did you model this week?" That's not really....a 'social character' thing?
Every other method of gaining prestige is light years behind modelling.
You can be a social character all you want. If you're not modelling, you're not doing anything valuable for your house.

RE: Lords and Ladies Game
It's mildly interesting to note how it takes people outside of the WoD-crowd to call Thenomain out on being a self-righteous, argumentative prick.

RE: Spirit Lake - Discussion
@noodle-mcdoodle said in Spirit Lake: An Original Modern Fantasy Game:
The day I have 80 friends is the day I throw myself one hell of a party.
This doesn't even deserve a facepalm gif.
Just use your imagination.

RE: Sexuality: IC and OOC
My biggest problem playing a male PC is pronouns. When you're playing Wolverine and are referring to your character as she/her/etc in your poses, it kind of stands out. But aside from that I'm not sure I've ever had any issues. In normal day-to-day RP or TS.
Over the years, I've found that I don't particularly enjoy TSing with male PCs because I find they usually suck at it. I enjoy my 3-6+ paragraph TS and I haven't encountered many male PCs that write that much in general poses (and do it in an interesting way).
Which isn't to say I don't TS male players, because I most assuredly have.
I've never really encountered any of the weird/gross/lame/shitty 'guy trying to RP lesbian sex' stuff, and I suspect it's because I'm not shy about ignoring people who suck at writing and/or are weird to deal with OOCly.
Normal, plain lesbian TS is surprisingly dull to me these days (which always feels weird to recognize), and I suppose it's in part due to writing it for 15 years. I don't do hetero IRL, but I am usually down for it in TS with people I've already built a rapport with (and usually a female player on an npc/temp-char).
TLDR : Magic cocks ftw.

I can't figure out the spoiler tag. Oh well. Enjoy a giant picture.
