Wireless mice. I apparently can break the things in ways so that there's no conceivable way for man or machine to tell they're broken -- EXCEPT THAT THEY DON'T WORK.

A +vote system is a false democracy that rewards people who can crank out RP even when that RP contains absolutely nothing of narrative value. Yay, your werewolf went to the MALL, +votes!

XP-by-pose was supposed to solve that conundrum, but really only shifts it, because it's still measuring quantity, not progress. Its only benefit is that it requires less processing by staff, and some would say that's no benefit at all.

These systems all reward the person who is more active, regardless of the type of system used.

However, if it is not possible to create a system that is fairer to people who have jobs or children or a simple love of taking long walks, at least beats reward taking risks and being progressive and proactive.

Honestly? I would do away with all automatic XP, and I mean all of it, except possibly nominations. All XP awards should be directly bestowed by the storytellers or disbursed through the beats system.

Andy @ By Right of Blood, Ephraim @ Eldritch. Cristobal @ City of Hope, but I'm quitting Happy BSDs & Gwydion's Player Rules Everything MUX. I can't really think of a shorter way to sneer at that game.

Don't really have anybody else right now.

Are you factoring in Animalism 1 and 2, or just considering Obfuscate?

To be fair, new management probably also equals new insurance. A lot of insurance companies jack the costs up if a landlord allows "dangerous" breeds.

However, two weeks notice to move out? That's sketchy. She should check what tenants' rights are guaranteed by the state. She ought to have, at minimum, a month to clear out (though she may want to be gone sooner).

That's true. Player retention is something the game has had a hard time with, I won't lie. Do you have an alternative to Wikia?

If so you might like "The Dutchess."

The Reach and City of Hope still get upwards of 100+ logins every night. Right now, CoH has 97 characters logged in (none of them talking to each other or leaving their private rooms, haw haw). Shangrila, WELL past its prime, still has over 300 logins at any given time.

There are still people doing this -- but this is not a hobby that people casually FIND. I found it because as a callow youth I was looking up stuff about Amber and found AmberMUSH. If locating MUXes wasn't an accident, would more people play? ...Pretty sure the answer would be yes.

Edit to add: Right now Shangrila has just over 600 toons logged in. I'll be conservative and estimate that fifty of them are five players each with ten dick-girl alts.

Add: The "Z" key on my keyboard randomly quit, so I had to replace it. That's a good thing about Toshiba laptops -- replacing things like the keyboard is much, much easier than it is on other laptop designs. It was literally just a case of prying up the plastic strip at the top and taking out four screws.

Mine's held up OK, except for the hinges, which are shot. I'm planning to piece together a desktop soon.

By Right of Blood: CWoD Sabbat, in need of players who will both make the effort to explore genre and stay around long enough for the game to build up a playerbase.

Gak is basically school glue, water, and borax.

Squints, re-reads To add to the point: "Add a vampire's dots in Celerity to her Defense, or her Dodge roll when defending actively." Celerity also penalizes firearms rolls made against the vampire as a passive benefit. Actively, it just makes you a motherfucker.

@HelloRaptor You are not entirely incorrect. However, your not being entirely incorrect does not make me entirely wrong.

Juerg axed non-vampire PCs just for being around one.

Leka liked to sit around in the lounge and talk about killing vampires. When she wasn't RPing masturbating with plastic shopping bags and being told it was 'brilliant'.

Neither of these people ever attacked my toons. My beef, and my case, comes from watching their conduct with other people. Generally, when I caught shit for things I did, I deserved it -- though I didn't think so at the time, and some of those players can still, on a wholly personal level, eat all the dicks.

I take it you had a personal association with either Juerg or Leka/Ernst, since those were the players I mentioned that provoked you sniping at me? I'm not about to condemn you for that, because lots of people did.

Near as I could tell from my blessedly brief interactions with him, he's a harem builder. Says what he has to say to gather a bunch of sympathetic women around him, and has to run off or subordinate other men.

Edit to add: And harem builders of either gender are a pain in the ass to dislodge, because they work hard to gather as many people who'll go to bat for them as possible.

On the other hand, HM Mage had Maclemus, who single-handedly almost redeems the whole game (I mean Mage), at least in my eyes.

The others just kind of meander their way to it eventually based on player sociopathy.

I like playing vampire. If I do something unapologetically evil, for whatever reason, it stands. I do not like being singled out by people like Leka, Ernst, and Juerg because I'm there.

Make them the villains of their personal morality tale, etc. All various things that translated to "pick on them because they're a relatively easy fight."

One thing I noticed -- werewolves cannot track a vampire after biting it.

      Fair enough.

I played on Haunted Memories, mind you, where Mage, Changeling, and Werewolf players would go out of their way to black-hat Vampires. Werewolf less so than the other two, but it did happen.

I am mostly wishing that they'd fixed things so that that kind of bullshit was not going to happen again. Wishful thinking, I suppose.

Though I did once provoke a Changeling into burning down her own house. That was kind of fun.
