    • RE: Good or New Movies Review

      @Arkandel

I can't even, with Charlize Theron... She's so awesome. I've seen Aeon Flux way too many times because of her =/

She's also the reason I saw that god awful, new Snow White movie with Kristin Stewart, and the reason I'll be seeing the sequel, or whatever it is >>

Also, Captain Amercia: Civil War was a bit of a train wreck, too....somehow I think I'm in the minority there.

At least I got to watch Mad Max: Fury Road again (so many times...), shortly after Civil War <<

    • RE: RL Anger

My mother in law is crazy.

This is going to be insensitive, but I don't care, because I'm mad about the situation.

She is currently on medication for anxiety. Totally sucks. I get it. I was too for a while. She clearly needs to actually see a therapist or something though, because her dose isn't high enough, and an MD can only do so much when it comes to possible mental illness.

As you folks know, I'm pregnant - hormonal, crazy pregnant. I try to hold it in, but my usual quiet self hasn't been taking shit off of anybody lately, and I haven't been able to tolerate generally shitty attitudes.

So the whole family is at the movies. Movie ends, we go to the restroom, my sis in law (who MIL can't stand right now, for reasons none of us have been able to figure out) takes a longer time than usual as she's recovering from a severe bladder infection. Mother in law shrieks in the middle of the lobby area, "I can't believe we're still fucking waiting, let's just leave her."

To which I snap back (like an idiot, making things worse, but word-vomit), "If you're in such a damn hurry, you can go sit your ass in the car."

So she goes to the car just as sis in law is walking up to us. We follow, and that crazy bitch has taken the car, and actually drove home, leaving three of us semi-stranded, and almost ran over my husband (her son) on the way out. Honked the horn and everything.

Brother in law made two trips to take us all home. Poor guy.

Get home, every last door is locked. Thankfully there was a hide away key, because she had the keys with the house key on it. Ugh.

This was two days ago. I apologized for snapping, tried to make up and stuff... But nooo. My father in law is now in charge of meals because the last two nights when she wanted to make dinner, guess who didn't get any food...

Anyway...So messed up. Pretty much ready to take a taxi and.hop a plane home. Only reason I haven't is because everyone else has been great.

      /rant

Tl:dr - mother in law is crazy, and there's no way I'm ever trusting her with my child, at this point. She even told me the other day that she used to have to leave her kids alone for hours, because she couldn't handle it....And keeps talking about wanting to babysit...

      Anyway...shutting up now x.x

Not sure if it's been brought up yet but...

      Castle.

I've been binge watching it with my husband, and we just caught up to current episodes. Great show.

I'd be all over an urban fantasy MU that isn't WOD in a hot minute. Just saying.

    • RE: RL things I love

      Preemptive TL:DR -
The people I work with are so great sometimes.

I'm officially a crazy pregnant lady:

Not everyone at work knows that I'm pregnant, yet (at least, didn't until now). Just management, so in case something crazy happens, someone knows what's up.

We have a new manufacturer who provides our chocolate icing for icing cakes, now. Icing would not stick on the goddamn cake I was trying to get ready for an order. Ended up breaking down and sobbing over it, right there on the floor in front of my station. Coworker understandably kind of freaks out, goes to get management. I explain through ugly-tears that new frosting is the WORST. There's a pause, and we both bust out laughing. Well, cry-laughing in my case. Store manager brought me a cup of water, meanwhile, as an excuse to see wtf is wrong. Everyone else just kind of...backed away slowly.

Needless to say, I explained myself to my coworkers, and we all got a good laugh out of it. Manager (who just had a baby), spent the rest of the day "protecting me" from the evil fudge icing.

Point is... Even though I hate my job most days, I kind of love my new management and coworkers.

    • RE: Input on a new mush idea

I'm just coming in on this thread and am tired and haven't read all the way through yet, but....

The caravan idea thing could be cool. Why would you need any type of grid other than some generic landscape type things, anyway? Why would you have to tell people where they are? That's part of what I don't get about what seems to me to be current MU culture - I feel like people want to be spoon-fed. Which is fine for them, I guess, but not sustainable. Anyway, tangent...

Point is, if you (anyone) want a caravan/moving around type of setting, the focus should probably be generally what's happening around them, and not specifically where they are that week. Things that could happen anywhere.

That said, I should actually go read this thread now >>

Love when you actually feel engaged in a story right off the bat after making a new character. Not having to warm up to the newness, and just going for it.

Also love the legit friends you can make, after wading through all the crazy.

    • RE: RL Anger

Morning sickness. I hear it only lasts a little while, usually, but ugh. Tired of saltines and water.

Also, I've only told a small handful of people RL that I'm pregnant. One of them says to me "Isn't it magical?", all sincere and starry eyed. That's totally grounds to punch someone in the face, right? Especially considering I had to wander off to puke, while at work, shortly after? Magical, my ass... More like an episode of "Monsters Inside Me".

Also, pisses me off a little that I'm actually excited about a baby, which is turning me into "that person". I'm so sorry, world.

      Ahem...

    • RE: Good or New Movies Review

I just saw 10 Cloverfield Lane tonight, and really enjoyed it. I think the pacing could have used some work, but otherwise pretty good. John Goodman definitely carried the film for me, though. I wish we could have found out some more about his character. And the girl's, for that matter. But that's part of the suspense, I guess.

One of the friends I went with, stayed curled in her seat, watching through her fingers, while I didn't think it was very scary at all. Suspenseful, but not scary. Funny how people react to things differently.

      Gallbladders are lame.
      Surgery is lame.
Being the caretaker for my poor operated on husband is lame.
      Complications are lame.
Emptying a tube full of blood and gunk every few hours is /super/ lame. And currently the RL Anger issue. Because... guys. Oh my god. I find medical stuff interesting. I have no problem looking at bloody, gory things. Except, apparently, when it comes to my loved ones, or myself. Every time I have to empty the tube full of blood and gunk that's attached to the inside of the hubs, I about pass out. And I refuse to let him know, because lord knows he's hurting enough, and doesn't need to be bending and reaching for anything right now. There were minor complications with his emergency surgery, and I hate that I almost can't handle it. Buh. Stupid fight or flight instincts, or whateverthefuck they are.

Excellent nurses. Specifically those of the ER variety.

Husband had a, as it turns out, gallbladder attack so bad that we had to go to the ER on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Emergency surgery and everything. We just got home yesterday afternoon, and the thing that has stuck with me the most was how totally awesome the majority of the nursing staff was. I know that's not always the case, so I'm super grateful for them all.

I set up my PS4 on the tv downstairs that has our ridiculously awesome surround sound, to play a game with friends this weekend.
Just played Destiny, with surround sound...
It brought a tear to my eye, I kid you not.
      I may be in love.
