@auspice Really now? Huh. Are you sure it was use, and not use-coinciding-with-story-development?

RE: Vampyr
@insomnia Make absolutely sure you read as many of the notes as possible.
Also, do we ever learn to pick locks?
No. Certain areas open with the story, certain areas open with keys dropped by people you kill.
How do I get my mezmerize up?
AFAIK it goes up 'naturally' through story. To a max of 5.

RE: Vampyr
Some of the dialogue is a bit weird, aye. I went to speak to an NPC (one that's rather important to the character, but not so to the story itself, really) and she seemed to alternatively know and not know that he's a Vamp in the same conversation.

RE: Vampyr
my eyes are all red and evil why does no one notice this or care
London smog. Everyone's eyes are irritated.

RE: Vampyr
Two issues with this game on PC.
Keyboard and mouse controls can be janky at times, especially in combat against more than one opponent.
Chrome plus Nvidia graphics cards can sometimes cause the game to crash. So ensure Chrome is closed and not running in the background.

RE: Random links
@lithium No, it's me in a nut-shellsuit, and I want Ark to stop posting my image.
-
RE: Random links
@lithium Wait. If he's in a contained suit, then does that mean he only smells his own shit? Is he his own echo chamber in this metaphor?

RE: Let's talk about TS.
@ominous Yes, but the point of my post was arguing against the idea that one should outright ban the so-called courts of public opinion, which is what your post seemed to be advocating.
We agree that letting players 'decide' on banning or whatever is a bad idea.
-
RE: Let's talk about TS.
@ominous If they're institutionalised, they're not courts of public opinion. They're courts. Be more clear in your responses.
ETA: And you did specifically mention bringing MSB's brand of crazy. Last I checked we don't get policy or punishment veto on any game.

RE: Let's talk about TS.
@ominous No. I am saying the opposite of what you're saying as well.

Let's keep it off of the MU*s, though

RE: Let's talk about TS.
@ominous No, I literally said the opposite.
The idea is that one should not try to stop 'courts of public opinion' because they're always going to happen. What one should focus on is not letting said 'courts' influence staff's decisions.
-
RE: Let's talk about TS.
@ominous The point I was making is that you can't avoid a court of public opinion. They're going to be everywhere no matter what you say or do. You can avoid letting the 'results' of their trials affect your decision making.
@ominous said in Let's talk about TS.:
generally I find most people don't bring up problems with other players on public channels
You're also definitely wrong about that.
-
RE: Let's talk about TS.
@shincashay The definition I was given was 'the moment you air that grievance on a forum rather than to staff'. A channel is a public forum.
The definition is a poor one, but I'm not going to let that stop me.
-
RE: Let's talk about TS.
Then... courts of public opinion are already on every game and in every human interaction.
-
RE: Let's talk about TS.
At what point does airing a grievance or complaint become a court of public opinion?
-
RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
@tempest They also have my occasional snarcasm in the discord! I take full responsibility.
-
RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
An additional issue comes from the tendency for discussion to happen on the Public channel, and that being counted as 'informing and including the players' in decisions like this.

because FC seems to be on the downside
FC's latest and biggest down-swing is because of the talk about this new game.
Make it first, then advertise. Sheesh.

RE: nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E
I mean, if your game-basis-mechanic-book literally states "X happens if Y and Y have sex" you don't need a policy or HR to bypass that. Just kill offenders off with antagonist NPCs as a warning for others.
