It's like this guy got hit in the forehead with an aluminum bat and he keeps slipping into and out of a coma with amnesia.
... okay that's my next character concept.

ETA: They've also done the old "why isn't anyone making games" thing. So either this person is simply very ignorant, or they're trolling. Or both.
it's the usual troll. I mean c'mon he's done this cycle before.
Step 1: post 'woe why isn't anyone making games / RPing' in Gripes.
Step 2: reply to someone in an RL-related thread to commiserate and try to engage them
Step 3: Start making mostly pointless threads in Mildly Constructiveit's bait. don't bother. he'll go full racism within 36 hours.
@Lotherio Probably. We've had so many of those in the past year or so that I expect most of us have just gone into our holes and pretend the other stuff doesn't exist.

But what gets them every time is that it's command line based. The moment I tell them you have to type in commands "like a DOS prompt"
Then stop telling them that.
Tell them it's like a chatroom. It's far more like a chat room than a command line.

This may be me aging and just not adapting but I'm intimidated by the RP setup a lot except when it is an event I can sign up for and ends so I can plan around it with my life.
Agreed, though this probably is just us being old.
If I'm in a scene that takes a day, I'm going to forget about it. But at the same time I always complain inwardly about never getting time to RP properly... it's a curse, this age business.

I assumed that was military title of Captain rather than ship Captain
Navy captain and army captain are different ranks.
It's too fast paced. I don't connect for a couple of days and so much has been done that participating at all feels like I'm playing catchup.

Just because I choose not to argue with you about this does not mean that I think that you're right.
That's not how the internet works.

It's an unimportant federal building.
A rural post office that had closed down three years ago due to budget cuts and a small population in that zipcode that is now handled by the larger post office at the nearby large town/city.
We don't talk about closing down post offices.

...a non-violent burning down of a federal building...
It's an unimportant federal building. Like an abandoned Fish and Wildlife Service hut that's still technically owned by the Federal government, even though the land six feet away from it was leased to the local city...

It's a sixty cent raise
Exactly what I estimate our MUing to be worth.

Bourbon's decision to remove him or ask him to leave because they didn't want to deal with him is perfectly reasonable.
This is perfectly reasonable even without all that preamble. Rules breaking or not, if you don't want to deal with someone you don't have to let them sleep on your couch.
I think in cases where a term or phrase is acceptable for one group to use but not for another, that term or phrase should be avoided - especially in places where one cannot opt out of being exposed to it, like in character descriptions. RP is another matter.
For instance, I call myself a fag/faggot quite frequently. But I would be rightly lambasted for describing a character of mine as a 'twinky little faggot'. There's no real way of proving those using the term for reclamation purposes, and those using the term to cause harm or get a rise out of the audience.

Not a parent and never will be, so I'm honestly asking: is this a moment where your kids can be your friends, and share the responsibility of adult relationships with you by supporting your emotional needs?
Yes and no. Both parent and child are going through an emotional situation. Support can happen, of course, but it has to be both ways.

I'm fairly sure they're not trolling. Their reality often runs tangential to our own, is all.

I thing he is making fun of the concept of civil services by drawing a comparison with legal services.
No. That's a goddamn civil servant.

So while it is a fascinating time, it's not really a 'game' friendly theme, I don't think.
It could be, under very strict circumstances of a small group interacting with the world itself. More of an online TableTop sort of deal rather than a MU. It would need to be based on trust and understanding and an exceedingly limited number of participants with active GM involvement.
