Actually, I don't see anyone whining about the 100. it's only @Ghost obsessing about something he tries to pretend he cares nothing about.

Character Woes
I'd have put this in the Mu* peeve thread except I couldn't find it if it exists. Regardless...
It's so fucking annoying when I come up with a concept I really like and enjoyed researching (course, I enjoy researching anything but that's beside the point), app him, get him approved, and then... NOTHING. He doesn't come alive. I can't find his voice. RPing him is an effort, struggling to think of what he would say and how he would react. Trying to play him is work I"m not enjoying at all and there's really nothing I can do about it. He either works or he doesn't. All that work and effort, both on my part and on staff's, was all for naught. Frustrating.

This is one of THE best roles in the Alien story. Why it's unplayed is beyond me. Ever wanted to play the slimy Company toady that everyone loathes and still gets away with everything?
Or almost everything?

I just want to know who the puppet master is, the one in the shadows playing people off against each other and twirling his (or her) moustache.

RE: Sexuality: IC and OOC
I don't play straight. Ever. At most, I might play a bisexual guy if I'm apping a media character who's nominally straight but it's ambiguous enough or not explored enough to negate being bi. It's almost never been an issue. And it's never been an issue in the last 5 years. At least.
But there are a couple times where it proved to be a problem in one way or another. Needless to say, roster characters can be a problem. Even on Arx, where many of them are written to not mention sexuality, many are. Those that have been played before almost always end up having a girlfriend or wife. And while they could be bi, it just feels weird to introduce that element when it's never been raised in game. Anyway...
There was this one Star Wars game. Roster only. Not a single one was gay and staff resisted rewriting any of them so they were. They were willing (after a bit) to help create a new roster character but then came the discussion as to whether or not he could start with the same advantages/equipment as the existing ones did. In the end, it didn't matter as it turned out to just be a sandbox for staff and friends and every non-movie character was just a spear carrier to applaud what the FCs did.
The other time it stood out was Ravenwood Academy version 1. There was a quota on gay characters. They wanted to maintain the same gay/straight ratio as existed in the comics. Unsurprising, that meant very, very few gay characters. I never played there.
Now going back further is another matter. But things have changed a lot over the years and for the better. There's still a long way to go but I think it also depends on the genre you play. I really don't see any issues on the supers games I've played. I don't play MUDs and I never do WoW, LoL, CoH, etc where there's a lot of idiots, troll, and griefers. I imagine they're very similar to Youtube and I don't read the comments there either.

The free "scoop your own" ice cream, cappuccino maker, and popcorn machine were a bit over the top.
No. No, every place of employment should have a fully stocked cappuccino machine available. Every single one.

As the kids say, it me.
I played a character one time with the shtick of "law professor woman who wears men's suits 24/7." The Played By was an actress who is known for her forays into men's clothing. In retrospect, this is pretty cringy, so yeah. I'm very sorry about possibly harming LGBTQIA people thinking I was being oh so clever...when I wasn't being clever at all.
I don't find the concept cringy at all. Sexuality, gender identity, and gender expression are all independent of each other. You can have any combination of the above including a straight, cis-female who wears men's suits. It's how the character is portrayed that determines if it's cringe worthy.

RE: Marvel: 1963+
So, as promised, here's an update.
We have a name. Empire State Heroes.
Obviously, it's taking place in NYC. It is set in the Marvel universe but we will accept characters from any publisher with the caveat they have to be tweaked so as to have always been part of the Marvel universe. This is the same as M63 was and we just like it.
We're using the same code as M63 (thank you @ixokai ) as it's pretty awesome. There will still be loggers capable of posting directly to the wiki. The grid is pretty much the same though obviously the descs will be updated and some rooms have been added. Staten Island is now filling in for Gotham, for instance.
Here's a blurb from the home page of the wiki:
New York City sits poised on the cusp of a period of rebirth, renewal, exploration, and growth as it takes the spotlight on a global stage. Our game begins in 2019, in a period of rebuilding after a series of attacks on the United Nations left a large section of the city devastated. The United Nations is in a period of rebuilding. Superhero factions are working to regroup, and are working to regain and strengthen government recognition on a global stage.
Globalism has become a very real possibility as nations all over the world argue the pros and cons of establishing a Global government, recognizing the need to represent the entire planet in an ever-expanding world where an alien presence is very real. In orbit, a space station is being built as a point of entry for those coming in from off-world, both for security and diplomatic purposes.
From the neighborhood to the skies, people both powered and otherwise are finding the world becoming a much smaller place, and all will be called upon to aid in issuing the world toward this new future.
Further updates as we progress. I'll go out on a limb and say we should be open by March. It's possible we might be open sooner Once we have a more firm idea, I'll start it's own thread.

RE: The 100: The Mush
@Kestrel The problem is that it's a Mu. Every player wants to have an OOC say. Many want their character to have an IC say. If they don't get one or the other, they either feel railroaded or ignored.
The Senate was an IC way to do this on both levels. It's very possibly a really bad way, doomed to failure, which is fine, if it's an IC failure. If it's an OOC failure, see previous posts in this thread. To a certain degree, it doesn't matter if the accusations are right or wrong if that was the perception at the time they were happening. (Obviously, it does matter but widespread incorrect perceptions can ruin a game quicker than a smaller accurate one.)
Given the setting, leadership can either be all NPC which would suck in its own way (see almost every WoD sphere with NPC leadership) or given to a small number of PCs which lead to cries of favoritism and cliquishness (see almost every WoD sphere with PC leadership as well as previous posts in this thread).
The idea of the Senate happened organically because obviously some kind of leadership is desperately needed but 100 teenage criminals and rabble-rousers who came from an arguably not so benevolent autocratic Council aren't going to want to be ordered around by another 'council' (which, yes, is what the Senate will be but elected by them so it's a compromise).
tl;dr Leadersip in a Mu setting is pretty much always a lose-lose situation. No matter what, a bunch of people are going to be unhappy.

RE: Regarding administration on MSB
So. Plans are being made and discussions are being had. While these are going on, I'll just say one thing: IGU.
Some of you will be thinking 'Huh?' which is exactly my point. There's a reason why WORA has lasted so long in whatever form and Idealistic Gamers Unite went the way of the dodo a long time ago despite being contemporaries of each other.
While I don't want to see the bad old days return in force, neither do I want to see this board become... bland. The day it does is the day it dies. Better to err on the side of vitriol.
