RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
Barring OCs (Mutant Genesis has the same policy) is problematic for reasons that go beyond just wanting to play an OC. Feel free to move this to its own thread but official answers from staff would be nice.

LGBT characters are much more rare than straight ones. Trans especially. And many of them, to put it simply, suck. Not in a good way. Is it okay to gay up a straight FC? How about making one transgender?
-
A lot of the best FCs are male. There are certainly some awesome female characters but the majority of the 'best' ones are male. Gender swaps allowed?
-
In the same vein, the vast majority of FCs are white. It okay to change their race from caucasian?
People like playing characters that mean something to themselves. Often this means ones that reflect them in some way. FC only makes this much, much harder if not impossible.

@botulism Just thinking that if you only have fewer than 10 left, they may not be ones that people particularly want to play.
Well, different things appeal to different people. At this very moment, they are:
The Adjudicator: Conflict - it's what makes a story go. You are always trying to solve them, to get everyone to work together and be on the same page. You know what's fair, and that's what matters.
The Bon-Vivant: Today you shall party, for tomorrow you'll probably die. Live life to the fullest, enjoy every last thing you can, and always leave a fabulous corpse. The world is ending - drink up!
The Caregiver: You nurture, protect and guide those who need it most, and nothing makes you happier than being needed. You're always ready with a shoulder to cry on, some bandages and a few encouraging words.
The Confidant: There's always that one person that people just innately trust and can talk to about pretty much anything, and you're that person. You help them with their problems and share the weight of their burdens.
The Healer: You're driven to fix others, body, mind or spirit. You can't stand to see others suffer or in distress. Do what you can for those in need and make the world a better place one person at a time.
The Idealist: Every story has a moral, and finding and furthering it is what you do. You believe firmly in something and you seek to show others that truth, no matter the cost.
The Innocent: You're in over your head and not prepared for any of this. You look for others to protect you and keep you safe, and your naivete only makes that harder.
The Optimist: The world can be a better place. It has to be possible, or why even bother? You know you can pull it off, whatever it is, and things will be all right in the end.
The Perfectionist: Nothing is ever good enough, and no one is perfect. It drives you crazy. The perfect isn't the enemy of the good, it's superior to it. Always expect more of yourself and others.

Because again, you do not understand Fair Use or IP laws, which is insane to me because you're so involved with IP issues. One of you two should take a damn class or something.
You might be underestimating them. Or him. One of them. Probably not her. It is, simply put, bullying. And companies fold whether they can win or not simply because they don't want to deal with it and it really doesn't inconvenience them to give in.

RE: New Games and Feature Characters...
In general, I'm wary of games where the WHO or +who list does not include the number of unique logons. I want to know if those 50 alts really belong to just 10 players.

+1 chain.
I'm reminded of a quote.

RE: Now Open! Welcome to Lovecraft
@botulism Because there's an 'amount of RP' threshold to keep my interest. When it's not met, my interest in the character wanes much like what happens if approval doesn't come quickly enough (which was not a case here, it's just similar). Small game, bad timezones.
If whoever it is is happy with the amount of RP she gets? Great. Everyone's different.

RE: Empire State Heroes Mush
So, update. We'll definitely be open on 3/1. Though for all intents and purposes, we're kind of open now. 36 claimed MCs. 25 approved characters, 7 of which are OCs. There's only 10 reserved characters left, all of which will open up on 3/1.

I was woken up in the middle of the night(or day for the rest of you normal sleeping hours people)with a cramp in my calf so bad that it woke me up and forced me to jump out of my bed and stretch my leg out.
Nothing like waking up after being in a dead sleep with crippling pain. Because I'm limping around my apartment going 'ow ow ow ow'.
I used to get those. Calf muscle spasms are pretty common at night. Haven't had one since I started eating a banana every day years ago. Try it.

RE: San Francisco: Paris of the West
I'm 90% certain anyone who was working on an app at the time it was closed will be approved. I vaguely recall Gabriel saying he had intended on 25 Mages to begin with. I definitely recall him mentioning the number of already approved and the number still apping and it was over 40.

Amadeus Cho, a dude with super intelligence is denied because it is a low powered game.
Asked to make revisions, as are at least half of those who app but decided to drop him instead.
And yet, they have allowed an OC character to app in with this global telepathic network that gives her all that and more.
The one who requires she actually touch someone and leave a piece of her body behind in order for it to work, among her other flaws and limitations.
They have allowed a staffer to apply as a version of an Agents of SHIELD character who is a science nerd, and not a frontline hero, as a cyborg with strength that surpasses Tony Stark's armors.
You mean Jemma Simmons? With her completely canon Deathlok enhancement?
Also, Tony was never asked to lower his strength. That's what he decided to app in with.
This is kind of the crux of the issue that I was bringing up about the whole Cole/Halo versus Bruce/Wayne thing.
You were asked to change the name. That's the thing that caused you to drop the character: the corporation name. But to each his own.
Let us know if you're done with the characters and we'll get rid of them so others can app them. They're still there till they idle out. Or you can still play them. Your choice.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@tinuviel Reminds me of 'niggardly'. No, it is not racist. No, it is in fact completely unrelated. No, it is not just a matter of linguistic redefinition. They are completely separate words, completely separate meanings, with completely separate etymology. They just happen to sound similar when pronounced a certain way.
