      Very regional.

Yes, it's a question on those tests you take to determine where you grew up.

@TNP It's Rick, our repeater troll. He created the account under the name 'Weimerican', to give you some idea.

He was my second choice. That one line just gave off lots of Cirno vibes to me.

@Ganymede Obviously, YMMV. But this is how I managed to quit.

I didn't give myself a timeline. I didn't follow the timeline on any packages.

First, I cut down my cigarettes. Doesn't matter how long it took. Cut out 1 a day. Next week, another one. Whatever you can manage so long as you're going down.

Once I got to... I don't know. 25% of what I was smoking? Maybe less. I put on the strongest patch. And I had a cigarette when I needed to. You'r NOT going to OD on nicotine. I had a cigarette when I needed one and kept trying to cut down to the number I smoked. Eventually, I hit 0 cigarettes. Then I moved to medium patch. And if I needed to, I had a cigarette but very few and probably half a cigarette was more likely. Repeat till I moved to the weakest patch. I stayed on the patches long passed the timeline they gave. I think it took me 6-8 months to go nicotine free.

tldr; do it at your own pace and give yourself slack.

@Cupcake Oh, also... Did you ask the doctor's office if they are in network? If you did and they said yes, demand to speak to their billing manager since they screwed up too.

Definitely. Also, if it's not too late, get a screenshot of the website showing them in network.

Whenever you speak to a customer rep, get the person's name and a call reference number. If you don't like what they're saying, ask to speak to an ONSHORE supervisor. A supervisor can do more than the rank and file and it's much better to speak to someone based in the US than in India.

Also, find out how to file a complaint with your state and do so if you don't get told they'll pay it.

So I continue spending ridiculous amounts of money, and not being able to move because I cannot save money. so I remain in this situation seemingly forever because I have no money to put into anything that would raise my credit enough to not need a cosigner.

Take out a short term loan. $250. $500. $100. Whatever they'll give you. Make the payments on time then pay it off a couple months early. Consider the interest an investment. Then repeat. That's how you build good credit failing other ways.

I cannot state, for the record, whether or not pineapple on pizza is good, bad, or horrible as I have never had pineapple on my pizza.

      And I'm okay with that.

      Heralds of Valdemar

I'd love a Valdemar game. But Mercedes Lackey has forbidden them. Not sure if that's changed at all.

However, you could have a Blue Rose game which is based on the 'romantic fantasy' genre that is Valdemar.

@ShelBeast said in Empire State Heroes Mush:

Amadeus Cho, a dude with super intelligence is denied because it is a low powered game.

Asked to make revisions, as are at least half of those who app but decided to drop him instead.

And yet, they have allowed an OC character to app in with this global telepathic network that gives her all that and more.

The one who requires she actually touch someone and leave a piece of her body behind in order for it to work, among her other flaws and limitations.

They have allowed a staffer to apply as a version of an Agents of SHIELD character who is a science nerd, and not a frontline hero, as a cyborg with strength that surpasses Tony Stark's armors.

You mean Jemma Simmons? With her completely canon Deathlok enhancement?

Also, Tony was never asked to lower his strength. That's what he decided to app in with.

This is kind of the crux of the issue that I was bringing up about the whole Cole/Halo versus Bruce/Wayne thing.

You were asked to change the name. That's the thing that caused you to drop the character: the corporation name. But to each his own.

Let us know if you're done with the characters and we'll get rid of them so others can app them. They're still there till they idle out. Or you can still play them. Your choice.

I fell off the game radar when the metaplot introduction of the Kree got taken over by one of the X-Men, while in the meantime the Inhumans had been plotting and planning and basically this was their moment...to have the rug swiped out from under them.

      Wrong game.

@Coin said in Empire State Heroes Mush:

I just... don't get that. Even if you limit actual sorcerers to power levels below Strange's, Fate is a god powering a mortal magician. It's... not the same.

Exactly. And that's why he's banned. (He wasn't banned five minuted ago but only because no one tried to app him so he was overlooked. But he is now.)

Really, there's only one reason why anything/anyone is banned: we don't want them. We don't want to try to adapt a god empowering a mortal sorcerer into Marvel. So, banned. Ambush Bug is banned. Why? We don't want more than one fourth wall breaking character on the game and one that is just this side of farcical. Banned. Eternals are banned. Some of them are of a power level that easily fits the game: Starfox/Eros for instance. Doesn't matter. We don't want to deal with Eternals, we don't want to have to evaluate every Eternal that someone thinks can fit or be made to fit. We don't want to /argue/. So, banned. They're not even in the same Solar System.
