      @Auspice said in RL Anger:

Family doesn't always have a place. Even (perhaps especially) on social media.

I'd always known my brother was very conservative. It wasn't until I joined FB that I discovered just how batshit insane and prejudiced he was. Some people say 'well, it's only politics' but no. It's not ONLY politics. It's a very clear indication of how that person think. What he believes. What he values. What type of person he is. As an example...

When Nelson Mandela died, he posted something like this (I forget the exact wording but trust me, this was the gist):

Thank you for your role in creating a nation with the highest percentage of black men raping white women.

It's axiomatic that when someone mentions rape and race in the same breath, the issue is never the rape and always the race.

Yes. Do you need that kind of person on your FB, let alone in your life? Alternatively, you can tell him point blank how stupid and offensive that was and to never post that kind of crap on your wall again. I unfriended my brother a while ago. But we've never really been close.

I'm not going to go into details. I'll just say it involves 1) computer and unrelated but simultaneously 2) my car. For over 2 weeks now.

@Derp It's all good, it was pretty easy to figure out.;)

@Sunny Joke or not it is a reason I like SimpleMu. I can make staff channels green. Otherwise I stopped turning ansi on about the time people started using colour in the descs, or blinking anything, really.

I love how, in Simplemu, you can disable blinking as well as underlines and inverse bold and some other things. I only have blinking disabled though.

It's simple, really. SimpleMu does everything I want it to. Why should I replace it when it works fine?

    • RE: The 100: The Mush

Not to jump on the bandwagon, except that I suppose I am, but when I read the post here my first reaction was along the lines of 'That's a novel interpretation of events.' And then when he said who he played it all made sense.

I tended to stay off channel and avoided a lot of OOC crap so I'll just add that there was a lot of negativity expressed by him ICly (which is fine except it can get as annoying as Pollyannas when that's really all there is) and OOCly that made me stay away. Honestly, consider it constructive criticism and stop doing that.

Seems Anders was separated from Justice and pardoned.

If this isn't all but proof that staff are making a game to play their favorite characters and little other reason, I don't know what is.

Pretty much. And on that Smoke and Shadows one, Anders and Fenris are lovers. Which is just... no.

The King and Queen of Ferelden are listed as PCs along with all the other major characters from the games. Take it as you will.

Strange. Sounds like the DNS resolution was failing. That's something we have no control over.

Popped in just out of curiosity (not going to play with those major characters as PCs). What the hell code base is that? It's horrible. MOO?

@Monogram Nothing has changed. The game's been up without any problems. Did you try doing a tracert and seeing where it hangs up? You should also try going through a proxy and seeing if that works.

Seems like it's definitely not for me then. All other quite valid complaints aside (and I agree with almost all of them), I have no desire to go through Impression and be a weyrling. Not for a year, not for 2.5 months. I have no desire to play a teen. No instariders to speak of? Not even worth logging on to look around.

I really don't know why anne thought that was good idea..

Because it was 50 years ago and she was a middle aged, Irish Catholic woman. It's why I give her a pass for her extremely ignorant and very strange ideas about gays. Despite them, her (admittedly few and secondary if not tertiary) gay characters were generally portrayed in a positive light. For her time and circumstances, she was pretty progressive.

    • RE: Dragon Age: Dread Wolf's Rise

Back when GOG had DA:O Ultimate Edition on sale for $8 or so, I mentioned it to someone who then proceeded to rave for 20 minutes about how it's the best game ever. Ok, what the hell. I got it. It's $8. It's one of the best games ever (and I'm so glad I installed the gay romance mod for Alistair because I would marry him).

It came with Awakening and I played that and the other DLC. Then I bought DA2 which is very different from DA:O but also very good. And now I want to buy DA:I. And I'm not a gamer, as a rule. So go buy them.

I rather like Celestial Seasonings 'zinger' teas if I'm going for something herbal. The watermelon lime zinger is really good.

But when it comes to black tea, Earl Grey all the way.

I've always wanted to play a dragon rider. But the problem is, I don't want to 'play' the dragon and that always seemed kind of expected from what I saw. These dragons are created with more attention to detail than most player characters with in depth personalities. I don't like puppets. I want my dragon to be in the background and mostly just 'there'.

Dragonsfire was my first! November, '98. I played a Harper because of course. 😉

No idea when it was. I played a healer apprentice who eventually made journeyman. I'm pretty sure his name was Berin. Don't ask me why I remember that because I have no idea.
