@ortallus I had my second Moderna dose last month. I felt exactly like I had the flu. I stayed home from work for 2 days, went in on day 3 since I felt better but still like shit. Day 4 I was nearly fine.

Not to advocate for this specific setting but The Traitor Son novels by Miles Cameron reversed the trope of man versus nature very well.
Typically the fires of industry threaten the natural balance, forests are chopped down and magic fades from the world. In these books nature is a badass not too fond of humans and their cities, so civilization is shrinking; gryphons attack settlements, exotic creatures are pushing desperate communities back behind their walls, and humankind may well be an endangered species.
This could make for an interesting setting to base a game (or campaign ) on.
The Deathworld books by Harry Harrison have something similar.

Dear immune system:
I know that the first dose of the Moderna vaccine taught you how to fight the Covid 19 virus. And the second dose is a training exercise where you martial all your forces and battle the fauxvader in a war to the death. I realize that the reason I feel horrible is because you're doing your job and doing it very well. That being said,

@hedgehog Philip was House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, actually.
I've identified coins from that German State. German State coins are a pain.

Arise and live again! Hey, the thread exists so why make a new one?
Anyway. I just discovered there this new(?) - newish - thing where these guys who are amazing singers sing soooooo looooooow.and the subharmonics are just amazing not to mention their overall octave range which is wonderfully displayed when they sing with themselves.
Here's one guy named Geoff Castellucci:
Sixteen Tons and Blackbird. Also, this guy named Tomi P who is a giant geek.
@coin, you'll want to listen to Toss A Coin To Your Witcher. -

Got the first dose of Moderna. 5 days ago. That evening, I began to wonder if I was starting to get the effects of it as I didn't feel right. However, it never got worse and I was okay in the morning. Sore arm for a couple days. We'll see how dose 2 goes in 3 weeks.

RE: Good TV
@derp I feel you on that. I actually do experience some cognitive dissonance watching him play this open, loving person vs....well, Derek the Hot Werewolf.
Clark the Hot Werewolf?
Derek the Hot Kryptonian?Just think of it as a re-imaging.

No idea if this is the case but I'd guess an empty unit can be taken as a business loss and would count as a deduction on their taxes?

@cobaltasaurus You are allowed to tell your doctor 'No.'

I think the better policy is to have player-end preference lists that a GM should examine before they put together a scene and run it.
That's assuming a plot is being run for specific people. Having to check the trigger list for 30 players before they develop a plot is impractical and not the GM's job. A much better idea is:
plot is announced
Player: p GM=Hey, I have an issue with ____. Is that going to come up in the plot? And if it is, they don't sign up.

The free "scoop your own" ice cream, cappuccino maker, and popcorn machine were a bit over the top.
No. No, every place of employment should have a fully stocked cappuccino machine available. Every single one.

RE: Random funny
One of the doctors always sends a gift for the entire office every year. It's usually food but given Covid, this year everyone got a bottle of champagne - pardon, sparkling wine since by law it can't be called champagne unless it's made in France's Champagne. Anyway, it brought to mind a fun coin fact that has always amused me since I learned it.
In the late 12th century, the county of Champagne started to hold regular fairs (markets). Like most counties/large cities back then, they minted their own coins and those of Champagne came from 2 different cities in it. Whoever designed the silver deniers in one of those cities must have had a sense of humor as the design on one side of the coin is a comb in a field.
The French word for comb is peigne. The French word for field is champ. Field - comb / champ - peigne. For the Champagne fairs.

Why, though? I mean, pasta is low GI food.
And very high in carbs. Carbs metabolize into sugar.

I am in a terrible spending spiral, and ordering out way too much. Like how lazy am I, when I can't fucking be arsed to boil pasta?
This is simple to make. Like, dead simple. The hardest part is slicing and peeling the garlic, but it's so worth it. And it's dirt cheap.
I have made this stuff so much during COVID. It just doesn't get old. I seriously recommend that you give it a shot. You might end up eating out less just because this stuff isn't on the menu.
And if you're trying to stay away from carbs, no reason you can't use spaghetti squash. If you don't think of it as a substitute for pasta (it's not) it's quite good.
