EDIT: Like, if you don't find the idea of your genitalia falling off and all your business down there fusing into a cloaca and a gigantic bloodsucking worm taking up residence in your throat horrifying, I don't know wtf is wrong with you man.

If I start watching the Strain it's going to be because of this sentence. 🙊

Yeah, all of a sudden it became interesting.

Everyone has a second bit already approved and in the wings waiting to step in when the first one dies. If there's going to be XP transfer from the dead on, let them just stay in Cgen almost finished until the first dies and then they can use the XP on the new and submit almost instantly. BG and stats could even get pre-approval.

Cgen will still be 'not easy as pie' but there will be no long wait to continue playing.

So... America's Next Top Model just started for Season 22. I can't be the only one watching. Who else has the lady/man balls to admit it???

I'm kind of watching it. I'm not a huge fan but a friend on the game is so she reminds me it's on and we kibitz it.

I've always been a bit puzzled over the orgasms some people seem to get when it comes to bacon. I like bacon but I don't LUV!!!111 bacon. I've always thought it was over rated and the whole bacon fad leaves me scratching my head. Bacon flavored lube was the epitome of how crazy some people are.

Sure, they're 'different', but in the way that two very similar but not identical things are 'different'.

Glad you agree with me. Except:

That is not even remotely the way ketchup and mustard are 'different'. 😛

They taste completely different which makes them different, exactly as ketchup and mustard are different. Exactly as water and hydrogen peroxide are different. Exactly as spaghetti and pie crust are different. Two things can be made of exactly the same ingredients but be completely different from each other.

What I think would be really cool and still work for WoD is not a completely-ripped-away, giant-squid-monster-buying-corn-dogs-on-the-street Veil, but something a little more like you'd find in the Buffyverse or the Dresden Files; a "Line of Sight" Veil, if you will. :neckbeard:

Normal everyday people either don't know or find it in their best interest to ignore or explain away the supernatural. The supernatural is completely (or like 99%) unveiled to itself, because that's how people fucking play it anyway, haha.

Governmental institutions know just enough to hurt themselves and always want to know more, crime families/syndicates/whatever know just as much as they need to know to mostly avoid doing the same, but get burned often.

That would certainly work, yes. It could also be fun. But I think public knowledge of the various supers would work just fine for WoD too. I'm a fan of the Anita Blake universe as well as that of Mercy Thompson and the public knowing of the existence of supers - and the inevitable bias against them from many directions - lends a whole new level of complications and possible RP. Vampires, for instance, would have to worry not just about vampire politics but human politics as well.

Also, how would the various clans handle humans actually wanting to be turned? How do they learn about the clans so they can decide who they want to join? Would Ventrue have very strict standards? I imagine the Daeva would probably have the most converts. How do the Nossies react to almost no one willingly wanting to be one of them?

One could argue it would no longer be WoD but I see it more as an expansion.

Let's get something straight. Mayo is good. Miracle Whip is good. Miracle Whip is not a substitute for mayo any more than ketchup (whis is good) is a substitute for mustard (which is also good). They are different condiments.

@Coin Ah, I did, yes. It looked in the post as if everything were being tied to open sheets. My bad.

But assholes will metagame no matter what. And they get dealt with, no matter what. Making sure everyone can't have nice things because of a few assholes is never a good idea when there are already existing rules against being an asshole.

As for supernaturals being out, I love the Anita Blake universe and they're out. My favorite game was an AB game. As for how it would affect WoD supers, it doesn't have to. There would still be no need to know who a demon is just that they exist. And as for believing in magic, how many people today truly don't believe in evolution or other scientific theories?

The themes would have to be adjusted, some splats would be completely destroyed (Demons) and others would be completely crazy (Mages with no paradox if everyone believed magic was real now).

Umm, no? Because opens sheets change nothing ICly. Knowing someone is a demon OOCly - which I do without seeing their sheets - doesn't mean I know they are ICly. And knowing someone is a mage OOCly doesn't mean my character suddenly believes in magic.

Many genres use open sheets and somehow they manage to avoid devolving into chaos.

Huh. I put in one where I was chastising Anonymous and got this:

*You are shrewd, somewhat inconsiderate and informal.

You are imaginative: you have a wild imagination. You are philosophical: you are open to and intrigued by new ideas and love to explore them. And you are calm under pressure: you handle unexpected events calmly and effectively.

Your choices are driven by a desire for well-being.

You consider independence to guide a large part of what you do: you like to set your own goals to decide how to best achieve them. You are relatively unconcerned with tradition: you care more about making your own path than following what others have done.*

But it says nothing about being unable to make this damn wiki work. Why did it not italicize?!

Periodically, weird things happen with that 'go to last post' box. And yes, I refresh and it works again. This wasn't the case. But suddenly it's working again - I'm guessing because the latest posts are on a brand new page. Maybe someone has an idea why that made a difference. I don't. But it's also mostly irrelevant now except as a point of curiosity.

It stopped working for me but only on the Fallcoast thread. When clicked, I don't go anywhere, just sit on post 1. No settings have been changed. Any idea why?

I hope that anyone with even a shred of human decency would be powerfully affected by Nomi's scenes, regardless of orientation or experience, so this shit is stark, but totally necessary and definitely good TV in my opinion. 👍

Problem is, I doubt the people who actually need to see this are the ones watching it.
