Oh, also the question about submitting descriptions was a joke. Ishtar was a character on Shangrila whose description was... a bit... famous around these parts.

I used to check out OGR regularly. I'd look at embassies. I'd read the boards. If a game went down, I knew I could find the people there. It was a good resource.
I never ST. I hate STing. I suck at STing, hence hating it. No, really. It has nothing to do with knowing mechanics. I pick those up sooner or later. I just really, really suck at running plots. I can organize the damn things just fine. Hopefully, I play in them even better. But running them is just not part of my skill set. I've been in this hobby for decades but that hasn't changed. It kind of sucks, actually.
I stop in every so often just to... Actually, I'm not sure why I bother any more. Habit? Though I did look there to find out what happened to WORA but no one posted there about this place. I'm still holding a grudge about that. You know who you are.

The hardest part, for me, is finding RP outside of plots. A lot of people are still kind of... hiding away in private rooms or the OOC room and being generally unresponsive to prompts for RP.
I have found the same for Eldritch,
Likewise. I usually avoid simple +1 posts but I did want to in this case just emphasize that it does seem to be a general trend. I have no solutions. Except this: hit Jared up for RP. I"m open to most anything.
I just have to mention this oldie but a goodie that some of you have probably forgotten and others were lucky enough to not have heard of. Until today.

Yes, you read that link address correctly. Dragon Ball Z and Anne Frank. Oh, yes. Hitler is in it too. Naturally.
Just out of curiosity, is it possible for you to apply directly for a position in the same company in a different city without it being a transfer?
@silentsophia Many banks waive a fee if you do a direct deposit a month. Sometimes more than one. You can make this happen by opening a savings account or even another checking account at another bank and moving money back and forth between them.
White this is certainly true, there's something to be said for being able to point back to literally years worth of history of issues as reported by dozens (in some cases hundreds) of different people.
But there's little point in crying over spilt milk. And yes, spell check, spilt is a real word so suck it.
@Rook I'm pretty sure she means, as per the saying, that since she doesn't like herself, she therefore can't like her friends.
@silentsophia There's levels to that saying beyond the surface which is what it really means. If you want, page me on the game about it. I'm sorry I directed you to RuPaul.
Yes, it was a fairly common symbol in India going back a couple thousand years. But it's also found on ancient Greek coins dating back to the 4th century BC.
@silentsophia Well, 5/9ths of it. I must admit, there's a small part of me that was hoping it would be 6-3. For shame, Roberts. For shame. I'm hardly surprised though.

5 Supreme Court Justices.
Adding to this: picturing Scalia's reaction. When I first heard the ruling, I didn't even think of him. Now that I've calmed down, I get the added bonus of schadenfreude.
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
Edited to add: It's even better after reading Scalia's dissent. What a great fucking day it's turned out to be.
No one said in the last thread; does any game still have an OOC Masq?

Or whatever. Then you'd just have the one command, and people could be unfindable, and tada everybody's happy. Right?
Nope. So far, the unfindable flag has only been discussed to keep people who are harassing someone from finding them. There's another reason to see who is where on the grid.
Keeping people from going somewhere that contains a person they want to avoid. On various games I've played, there's sometimes been a person or two who I want to have absolutely nothing to do with because of OOC reasons. If I see that person in a scene, I won't join it.
And if someone is being harassed to the point they think they need to be unfindable from someone, I'd think they'd want to avoid that person as well which would be much more difficult if the harasser was unfindable.
Without an OOC Masq, there's really no reason for the flag. If you're being harassed, report them. If it's not at that level, page lock them. Once I found someone's inane drivel so constantly annoying that I went so far as to gag them completely in my client. As has been said previously, there are other ways of dealing with the rare idiot. We don't need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Well, to me, looking out at a bunch of players who I have no reason to be where they are (any non-public space) doesn't tell me much at all, save that folks do gather together, or they sit alone or idle. That's about all i think you can glean.
If you leave it at that. When I"m a guest, I always check where. If someone is alone in an IC room, they're idle. It there's more than one, I check WHO for idle times to see if there's implied RP going on. This depends on game size of course. It might not be conclusive but it definitely helps to form an initial impression when taken along with other things.
I was a player actually. But back in my WoD days, unfindable sphere rooms were commonplace on most games. As we're all products of our experiences, it certainly factors into my dislike of the flag.
@Misadventure said:
If you log on and A) all active players are set Unfindable and B) Unfindable means never contact me through any mean then Guest should leave, there is no one there interested in playing with them.
I have, in fact, been on a game where the majority of players were unfindable. Not recently but that could also be because I haven't played WoD till recently. All those players were in an Elysium or other sphere hangout, all of which were set unfindable. OOC Masq, you know. I don't know if that's still a thing.

Could someone explain why its necessary to know at all times where or who other players are with, save to know where ones faction RP might be? Anything more directed at a specific character I would assume can be arranged via a quick page.
Edited to add "at all times" because @Templari pointed out the obvious sometimes use Thank you T). I am picking at the logic that Unfindable is always bad, or based on bad apple logic.
There's another reason not to have unfindable. If I log on as a guest to a new game and see no one on the grid? I log off. WHO is not advertising activity. +where does.
