@Ganymede My amazon fire is now the music player for the master bath. It has become the slowest device in my house and is barely a year and a half old with barely any apps, it's just insanely slow with a ton of input delay.
My father was just complaining about the slowness of his Fire the other day. It seemed to come on all of a sudden which seems to indicate some kind of software update.

I don't think shower preferences are a gender thing. I'm a guy, and I like my showers so hot that it leaves my skin red after.
Don't know. But women in the office complaining that it's too cold does seem to be common.

There are still hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of people on this planet that have refuted society and science and believe in a flat earth.
That's just crazy talk.
Everyone knows the earth has to be round because it's hollow.

Eating tide pods is pretty minor stuff.
The current fad of young people mutilating their bodies is beyond sad. -

No.
The "it was the article, not me!" is beneath you. You have a brain. Use it.
That's not what I meant at all.
I'm tempted to start a thread called '129 ways to get a husband' and see if the readers of the soapbox can do any better. -

@tyche Can you leave your gross sexism to the Politics or Hog Pit sections?
That's not on the list!

'Learn to paint. Set up easel outside engineering school.'
This is brilliant.I can attest that this one has worked:
44 Learn how to bake tasty apple pies. Bring one to the office and let the eligible bachelors taste it. -

From the article:
- Make a lot of money.
Whoa whoa WHOA there! A woman going out to make her own money? That's a bit too progressive for this magazine! Whatever editor let this through really needs talking to from the men in charge!
- Don't take a job in a company run largely by women.
Still good advice.

RE: Poll: Are MU* video games?
@misadventure said in Poll: Are MU* video games?:
I MIGHT accept a MUD as a "video game", especially a real time one. This brings into question whether any game, presented via a program, automatically is a "video game". It still carries the connotations of real time, reflex and accuracy based games, which may not be a solid guide.
I first played a mud game on a teletype machine. I imagine you still could. Video seems optional for many mu*.

@lisse24 I am teaching the most controversial of subjects: "Racism is bad mkay."
We're just finishing the Boer Wars, more specifically.I don't see the connection between racism and the Boer Wars.

You are missing a comma in line 51...
%default #!# default values for config.
^Other than that, it looks great.
Also, it runs fine on Windows using Cygwin or Active State Perl. -

Yeah, I'm a prescriber, and I'd echo what @ganymede said. There are as many opinions as doctors, and mostly many different types of drugs (apart from for some of the conditions I treat!). If your doctor is not listening, change anyhow. The most important person in the room is you, and if they can't explain their decisions then head out of there
Most doctors or PAs won't prescribe a good scotch or bourbon.
I use it liberally for most ailments.
