RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)

RE: The OOC Masquerade ?
@Ghost This just sounds like implementation and enforcement hell to cater to the 7 total people that still care about OOC masq. This just feels like more work, more hoops, more.... unnecessary. Morew work for staff to do in an age where there's already too much to do and holding onto staffers long term is already a shot in the dark every time. Now add on this? Layers of weird wiki masq nonsense and properly flagging pages and...
please no.

RE: Social Stats in the World of Darkness
Also wanna note that we seem to be focusing on persuasion and Intimidation.
Will this 'PC's are Immune to social rolls Include...
Empathy rolls to get better insight, Subterfuge rolls to shield emotions or pick up on lies, or Expression to be a dramatic bitch.
These are ALL social dice pools.

RE: Difference between an NPC and a Staff PC?
I'm sorry I'm not buying this.
If yer saying that a staffer playing the NPC Prince and then TSing certain people and acting out IC romance relationships is fine, because they are 'ethical' about it, imma call bullshit because that isn't ethical.
Staffers and their NPC's are by default in a position of power. That's why games have CoI rules. Thats why we dont do jobs for people in our Motleys or people we have IC relationships with. That's why Professors get fired for fucking their students. Sure it was consensual and she was of age so that's all that matters! What?
What do you mean I favor Suzie over you? No, that's just your jealousy! She just poses deep throating me on the reg because it's important for the plot!
But sure, staffers can do whatever the fuck they want as long as they are 'ethical'. Could you send me a link to this pool of perfect staffers that want to deal with all the other bullshit of staffing and also TS PC's as NPC's and be totally 'ethical' ab out the whole thing! CoI rules are stupid!

Imma write a bigger post later, but I just wanted to say I'm all choked up. I see so many echos of my own life and struggles here among all of you and it's just... a little overwhelming okay?

RE: Consent in Gaming
So I'm reading this thread and I'm finding my perspective might differ when I Rp than others here. Even if its a bad situation, I'm still there, playing my character, who is the protagonist of my show, as I imagine other PC's are the protagonists of theirs, reacting to stimuli and responding, in character. What is even the point of playing if to avoid any conflict you cannot dominate? Sometimes you get yelled at, or face consequences. You are still there, RPing right? How does this reflect on yout he player? I love it when bad things happen to my PC's... thats the most fun part. Conflict, and playing that character within that conflict. Right?

RE: Sexuality: IC and OOC
@Darren @RDC I thin k that a good thing to remember is, that even if you decide, today that your label is X, does not mean you have to be X forever. As we learn to explore who we are, what we are attracted to, we will discover more about ourselves. Our personal definitions may change, where we are on various spectrums can and will change. I have a friend who is in their 40's finally deciding they are Z, when they were sure they were X in their 20's and y in their 30's. Even the language we use today will likely change tomorrow, LBTQ+ is at best, clumsy with this stuff and society in general likes strong solid definitions about gender and sexuality, even if we know there aren't always gonna be them.
I myself generally present as cis male, and i am mostly attracted to women, sometimes those women might be trans. I've made out with my share of men, but never got past light petting before i hit my uncomfortable mark, tho online I have played people more and less exploratory than I. I am in a Monogamous Hetrosexual Marriage, so I likely wont physically explore all of what I might be attracted to. My wife and I talk about attractive people all the time. We are very solidly in the... sure we're kinda straight but also not totally'' category. I cant really find a specific term, and like @Aria and @Darren Heteroflexible seems to work.
Anyway, even if you arent sure now, or are saying 'fione i am saying I am this' there is no shame or stigma is saying 'I want 100% right' or 'I feel different today than I did yesterday'.
