Anyone interested in starting a new nWoD game?

Speakin' of historical accuracy me and a buddy are making a Western. We put it in a fictional place so nobody's like THIS MUST HAPPEN ON THIS DATE LIKE THIS and we'll have resources for you if you wanna be historically accurate but if you don't then you don't. So long as you don't uh, drive cars and shit you should be good?
I'm interested in starting Geist in present-day Savannah, Georgia (Sherman's March to the Sea).

I refuse to play that game, Jack, because some wanker will insist Sherman was the villain of the piece and I will LOSE MY GODDAMN MIND.
If you're that wanker, I apologize for calling you a wanker.

I love Sherman.

@The-Tree-of-Woe But GEIST. And it can take place elsewhere, but, I want a supah haunted city that isn't New Orleans and Savannah is cool as hell. I think that New Orleans has been done too many times. I'm too busy having Very Strong Opinions about Edmund J. Davis and so on to really give a damn about Sherman, myself.

For myself, I like the idea of a metropolitan AREA, just... I hate trying to do things, or build things, in established cities unless I KNOW the city. I feel like I'm just going to crib things I know from cities I know, and insert them into any city I would play in, and a lot of people are like MUH AUTHENTICIY!That I get. I would get a bit twitchy if someone used Chicago as a setting, but had the layout all over the place (ex. The University of Chicago being north of LSD - Lake Shore Drive). But then again, if you had vampires, werewolves, and changelings running about, then who am I to get twitchy about authenticity on a fictitious game. So why not take a metropolitan area you like and create something similar. Like how Gotham City is New York by night / Metropolis is NY by day (someone described it online at one random point I once read). Like New York's Manhattan layout? Call it New Jack City (wait...don't call it that, unless you want a Nino Brown PC running the streets).
Where was I? Right! If you like a metropolitan area, borrow the map, add some nWoD stank on it, and call it something else within whatever state you want it to take place geographically. It's a game--not NATGeo

This is why our Chicago is based off of maps and my personal excursions and living experience of the city.

I had this Changeling game set in Austin that I want to resurrect. It failed because I didn't actually storytell for it since I was in college and I delegated it to other people I didn't communicate well enough with, but I was 19 and an idiot with no job experience and no communication skills. And now I'm 25 and an idiot, but with job experience in retail (thus dealing with assholes skills) and communication skills, so think I could start it again and actually make it cool.
'Cuz I live in Austin and know its history and the Weird Things that can be found and had NWOD stank put on them (like the mirror room, the Maximillian room, in the Driskill hotel and the "haunted" paintings on the various floors, like the one on the 5th floor of the girl who supposedly died on the grand staircase).
I also still want to do Geist too. But I also just have a Changeling game ready to go. x_x.

I'm considering a move to Austin. But I think the city is too weird for Changeling.

It might be a fitting place then for a Changeling game. Call it the Wyrd West
-
@DarkDeleria @Admiral haha! Well it was called Keep Austin Wyrd since our thing is "keep Austin weird". The area is very close to this winding cave system and then there's Dead Man's Hole beyond the city limits and just all these cool places that have that weird factor. Add in the festivals like Eeyore's and SXSW and ACL and you have a place for Changelings to harvest glamor like junkies, and then you have mystery horror fodder like how Austin is the place of the first serial killer in either the US or Texas, and he s the reason why we have the Moonlight Towers. Just, yeeesss all I need is a partner storyteller so I can also focus on By Right Of Blood.

@GentlemanJack WHY ARE WE NOT DOING THIS YESTERDAY?

@DarkDeleria
This is exactly what I did for my game. I stole the rough layout of Stockton, upsized it to what I needed, removed aspects of real Stockton I didn't need and fictionalized it heavily, and dropped Queens Point in place of it in the San Joaquin Valley there.I was more stating that, people who talk about wanting major metropolitan areas, I agree with you, you can take it and fictionalize it to your heart's content.

@Admiral
Funny. Our Masquerade LARP convention game from a couple weeks ago was set in Austin during the SxSW festival. -

BECAUSE I AM MAKING WEDDING CAKES AND FORUMING FROM MY PHONE
And USPS fucking LOST my brothers wedding rings. So uh, we're going to go find a good bubblegum machine tomorrow I guess?? Motherfuckers. I think it's because the rings are made out of an empty.357 shell casing, since it had trouble getting through Customs. I don't fucking know.
