I bought a new, not-at-all cheap fridge in May. After buying it, we discovered that our measurements were off by .25 inches, so we cancelled it and they 'initiated refund'.
I got the refund in AUGUST.
THREE MONTHS for a refund.

@Tat A few years ago I drove my mom to buy a new washing machine since her old one broke down. She picked one, I paid using my credit card, and the guy promised to deliver it in 3-4 days.
Those 3-4 days turned into a week ("we're still waiting for the model to come in"), then two weeks ("the supplier's delivery truck bringing it to our warehouse had a problem"). I called the store and asked for a refund since my mom needed a washing machine and they said it was complicated 'since I had paid with a credit card', and if I could just wait? I said no, I really wanted a refund, and they basically gave me the runaround.
Fine. I e-mailed my bank and reported this, giving them the full details and asking them to reverse the payment. Which they did within the day - the guy was freaking out at me on the phone about how much work cleaning up the paperwork from that was going to be for him.
I cared less than I perhaps should, and I've always used a credit card when I bought anything of value since... it just gives me more recourse, and a nice paper trail.
Why would it be more complicated to issue a refund when you pay with a credit card? The credit card will pay, it's a bank. I don't get it.

This is why I am glad to have a friend that is a lawyer, when I get that type of run-around, I have him make the next call, not that I would ever actual sue over the matter cause that would be a pain in the ass, and he would charge me than but a quick call has always worked wonders. This is also why I will always buy him drinks even though he makes more than me.

@saosmash Oh man, what? I love escalation. It's my go to when dealing with people. Why yell at the first person you talk to? Even if it is their fault, they can't do anything. Just insist you get to contact a supervisor. And then insist on being put in contact with THEIR supervisor. Eventually someone will tell the truth or help you just to avoid their boss asking why the fuck they are being bothered.

@Ganymede Yeah, I've offered to do that for friends loads of times, too. I think I've been taken up on it like ... once? We used to charge a $100 flat rate for an "angry letter" or a "shitgram" at my first job.
I just do my own threatening as a rule. But once or twice when I've sent an 'official' correspondence, I've cced blah blah, Esq, Atty.
I have found Twitter to be an amazingly effective tool at getting things done. I've had issues that went on for months resolved within an hour of an angry tweet.
Whine whine whine. I have all of this work I need to do on my own cases including talking to people on the phone (UGH) and going to the jail (DOUBLE UGH) but I have to cover a bunch of dumb hearings for my boss instead and I DON'T WANNA.
My entire day today is one long I DON'T WANNA.

Mind you, if someone replies in a way that you don't like, you can ask them to stop, but don't get huffy that they butted in on a publically accessible forum unless they refuse your polite request for them to go away.
I caught a full cup of milk to the grill today, when my aspiring MLBer of a 2 y/o chucked it full-speed at my face. Then he locked himself in his room and I discovered that we don't have a key for that particular lock. Thankfully it's a junk interior door lock so I was able to get that open with ease, without the need to boot it.
Meanwhile, at 14:00, my wife was having mixed drinks on the job. Then toward the end of her day went down and sampled different wines. While being paid. Why? No reason. The CEO just wanted to do it. Oh and they have beer on tap in the lobby, of which she informs me she loves the pumpkin spice beer. Vending machines? Nah. Snacks just sort of out in the open and free. Like they're feeding a bunch of damn pigeons in the park.
Upside? I didn't have to put on pants today. While I think that maybe I should renegotiate my benefits package, I may come out ahead purely for that reason.
Edit: No, there was a reason for the wine. "It's First Friday! Every first Friday of the month we have a party!", "Why?", "Because it's First Friday!", "......"
Edit2: No, this does not actually make me angry. I'm actually quite happy that she loves her company and they do things that make her love her job. It just didn't seem something to put in RL Things I Love, since there was some grumbling on my part.
TFW you forget you have Skype open (after you've been slowly purging contacts that you have no clue who they are, whether they're mushers or caucus folks or whatever) and find out later you butt dialed someone who then had to listen in on you trying to wrangle the preschooler going potty.
