@sockmonkey Definitely try to talk with your landlord if you can. That there's someone in another building they're giving grief, who sounds like they would happily also provide an account of some kind, can only help here.

Even if they don't leave, it is possible that word from the landlord re: harassing their neighbors and people in neighboring buildings is not something that will be tolerated, and they'll chill out. If not, or if they start hassling him/filing complaints based on 'was walking in the apartment after 9pm OMG THE HORROR!!!' I have a feeling he'll toss them out on their asses post haste for bothering him.

@surreality Yeah, I think it's gotten to the point where mentioning something to my landlord is warranted -- if for no other reason than to just to get their behavior on record.

I'm not sure if it will amount to anything (California laws favor the renter over the landlord and they strike me as the sort of people who wouldn't go down without a fight, kicking and screaming all the way) but it felt so nice to bond with my neighbor today about them; I can only imagine how much better it will feel to share their shenanigans with my landlord as well (who I suspect already views them as PITAs for other community related requests they have made).

I'm right there with you. The flu that went through a couple weeks ago has left me clutching both daily and emergency inhaler. That shit's bull, I swear.

The flu itself didn't affect my lungs at all, but a few days later........

This kitten has been the bane of my existence. Like, I know kittens. They're little terrors. I've hand-reared so many. AJ goes... above and beyond. He has frustrated me to the point of tears a few times this past week. He has broken things that are very important to me.

At one point, I was cleaning up the broken shards of one and he promptly ran into the bathroom and pulled down the shower curtain. As I was trying to put it up? He ran up my back and leapt onto the curtain to drag it back down.

If I don't lock him out of the room at night, he will climb on my face... or the window above my head. If I do lock him out, he spends the whole night clawing at the door and yowling.

I have given honest consideration to surrendering him back to the humane society, except he has bonded to me, so I know it'd be traumatizing for him. And he is so difficult I honestly don't think he'd make it with any other family.

And please, don't give me any patronizing 'oh kittens are hard.' I can train cats. Like literally train cats to follow simple commands and hand signals. I know kittens can be hard and little terrors.

AJ is leagues beyond any cat I have ever, ever dealt with and I am at my wit's end some days.

@auspice We're having a similar issue with the male of the Tonkinese siblings we adopted. He's nowhere near that bad, but we're having to introduce him to the other cats slowly, for short, supervised periods of time. Otherwise he freaks them out and then they run and of course, he chases. I wouldn't be nearly so worried except he is not at all declawed, and could seriously damage one of the girls if things got out of hand. His sister, however, is integrating beautifully, to the point that she spent almost the entire day in the bedroom with me and our two original cats. There was some hissing if she surprised one of them, or they surprised her. But they all managed to be in the room together without anyone trying to attack.

@auspice Kittens are bad. But they get better once they get a little older since they pick up hints from you, and also lose their link to the endless pool of energy they have when they are super young.

It might not be like that now but in a few years you'll be at times sad he's no longer a kittenball.

Our recent cats we got as adults. They were between 3-5 (even the rescue didn't know) when we got them. Not gonna lie, that was way easier.

They are now up there enough (well into the latter teens) we know we won't have both of them for many more years, so the question of 'a pair of kittens' when one of the current two passes is an active question we're struggling with 'cause... yeah. We've had some nightmare catlings as well, and this is a big concern. But we also know both the current f'lines are very social in their ways, and would not be OK as a solo cat. (We try to acquire our f'lines as pairs because of this in general.)

Super anger - got a referral to a specialist for a fairly serious suspected problem. Call the referral office a week after, and get attitude. Call back 2 weeks after, and she gives me the number to the office. Well fine, bitch. Let me take care of your job for you. Now you can just fax some paperwork. And yeah, there's going to be a complaint filed. It took me 15 minutes, more than 10 of which were on hold as someone from the 'outside' calling into the office, to get the job done.

I had to drive a super huge 26 foot penske truck over 900 miles in one night. Then it had to be unloaded. So my house is full of boxes which I haven't had the time to go through yet and unpack, I haven't been able to RP in weeks, and now, when I start a new job today... apparently trying to control that truck for so long has seriously strained the ligaments in my middle fingers (No I wasn't flipping off people, was to busy trying to keep that truck in one lane the entire time).

So it is weird. My fingers... hurt I can still use them perfectly fine, they just hurt, feel swollen, etc.

If the joints feel clicky, might be "trigger finger", which is actual an irritation of the ligaments in your palm, not at the fingers. Isolation is the speed along fix for that.

Who's old? I use Aleve all the time. It helps for minor nerve aches, for me, and I work out fairly regularly.
