@tributary Any chance for Changeling 2.0 in the foreseeable future?
Maybe. I’ll probably want to but it will depend on how much upheaval it will cause.

@Cobaltasaurus is going to get super excited about it and want to try it, and I'm going to have to read it and decide how much of a workload it will be for the people who are going to end up saddled with doing the conversion. If they're not absolutely giddy about the conversion, we may pass, but chances are they'll be excited about it, too.
So yes: there is a pretty good chance. Knowing that there's a pretty good chance and it's going to be a lot of work is one of the reasons I have been so firm on not adding any spheres.

I feel that it would utterly rewrite the game. Now, since most folks have already done the character creation work long ago, they may have the energy and patience to try to rewrite the same characters in new rules.
Or they may not.
-
I would love, love love to update it to 2.0. In fact, I'm finding it hard to get back into a 1.0 game, even with a character I quite enjoyed. Just relearning all the rules and going, "But, wait, this made much more sense in CoD..." makes me kind of sad. So, you might lose some people, but you might attract others.

There are some folks who never created characters in the first place.
-
I have to second @Misadventure's concern here.
The 1e->2e shift for WtF on Reno1 was a nightmare that resulted in a good number of people abandoning characters they loved but felt would no longer work.
If you have an active playerbase with one set of rules that is enjoying the game and how things are going, the chance to attract a handful more with an upgrade is something you'll have to consider seriously, as there will be the ones you'll lose + all the work an upgrade entails.
-
I would also venture that some of the focus and methodology of Lost 2e has changed enough that it may not even make for the same interest in the game for some folks too.
-
Changeling 2E is not an update to Changeling 1E. It's a rewrite with different theme, setting, and methodology. It is a giant change, unlike Vampire and Werewolf 2E.
-
Thank you all for the advice. We'll make a decision when it comes out. That's why @Tributary has veto power. I trust her judgment on 'this is too different'.
-
When 2E comes out, I will acquire it, read it, and make a decision then. It is too soon for me to make the call.
Until then, we are going to play our game happily with 1E.
So hold your damn horses. This decision will not be made lightly or impulsively.
-
@tributary Fair 'nuff. See you guys when the issue is revisited!

I haven't had a lot of time to really clear out the +news files. I have +clues about 75% done (hahaha, probably not), but I have it working enough that people can see their +clues and not lose plot info. After that there will be a few other code-things (+travel), and we're continuing to work on getting the news files fixed, and werewolf scrubbed out.
Meanwhile, while we are "small" or "slow" as people have said. We are chugging along with the re-opening plot.
Which to try and summarize:
There was the 7-year fugue, and no freehold (or its super broken!), and various PCs have been given coronets! There were four given (based on the seasons), but there's a fifth that was mentioned through prophecy. Prophecy says all five are needed to defeat the antagonist! Whooooa.Birds are doing things! ...and I found out that someone was doing something not-so-advised with their crown. So the end-boss antagonist showed up at the Sit n' Spin, and boy did everything go wrong.
Eddie gave what was probably one of the best poses I have seen in a long time, based on hard in-character choices. (Stay and fight, or flee with the winter crown so it doesn't get taken by the antagonist?)
Another PC may have fucked up weather patterns by breaking a mcguffin that the antagonist had! Oh no! ...and almost got kidnapped by the antagonist.

To be fair, I keep saying I'm going to make a list to you because I forget how to do it. I'm lazy!
But the boards, channels, +pledges, and +factions have been cleaned up. Sheets have been fixed and cleaned up.

@Tributary is my SanCheck, and I’m pretty sure she’d veto Mage because like she mentioned she likes the simplicity we had.
I'm vetoing Mage. We're sticking with mortals and changelings. We're keeping it simple.
Any chance for Vampire?
runs away before anyone can hit her

@meg Vampires are dicks!

And now the Bureau is drawn in to investigate. Because you don't blow out every window, bend every tree in the neighborhood and send cars skidding across the street without getting the MiBs' attention.
-
@meg Changeling only, sorry bb.

I BROKE THE WEATHER!

This is possibly the only thing that could make me stop lurking and post. So excited!

Thanks to the wonderful @EmmahSue, this past weekend we got to:
- Knock out a dog!
- Steal snowmobiles!
- Finally got to use a bunch of those Contracts you never get to use!
- Go up a mountain to die, maybe! We'll see!
She even managed to schedule it around some of our UK timezone players, which we have now. Good news for early birds and those trapped on some bleak island. It's good stuff, y'all, check it out.
