I didn't know where to stick this so we might as well have a generic thread to put in weird/cutesy/creepy stuff in, right?
Is this cat going UP or DOWN the stairs?!

Down. Look at the stair caps on the sides. Those go atop the stair step. </engineering>

With the Net Art Generator, you can feed in a title (such as Go Away You Posturing Jackass ), set a few options, and produce something like this:
You can get it here.

Found rainymood from there. Been using it ever since to destress.

I don't know if this is hilarious or terrible. (It may be both.)
If the sight of non-Latin text sends you into paroxysms of panic, just ignore the text, look at the pictures, and pay special attention to the brand name…

Handy for those like myself who are dumb but want to be considerate of transgender people.
I've long understood the distinction between gender assigned at birth, gender identification, expression, etc, but haven't really known which terms are considered polite and which offensive. Granted, just being generally respectful of people and addressing them according to the way they express themselves as been pretty okay.
The Vanity Fair thing seems cool to me. A lot of people are going to get worked up and dumb about it but in the US at least we need a lot of reinforcement of the idea that gender isn't binary and is multidimensional.

he, him, his, they, she, her, her, they?
I know, it's not that simple, but sometimes it seems to be.

Really, the reason it becomes complicated is because there are assholes who get told "hey, these are my pronouns" and the assholes go "fuck you and your pronouns."
I heard a comparison once where it's like your name is Robert and you like to go by Robert and some asshole is like, hah hah no I'm gonna call you Bob, and you go, hey please call me Robert that's what I like to go by, and the asshole is all, HAH HAH NOPE. People act like it's SUCH AN IMPOSITION, and yeah sometimes it goes against your instinct and you have to be more conscious of it, but really if someone tells you their preference and you refuse, you're pretty much just an asshole.

I just call that person ass. Works just fine.

I solve this by just assigning people random gender pronouns that have nothing to do with their appearance or my knowledge one way or another, and then just sticking with that for them forever. I even have a little random gender generator app to help me decide, I give my phone a shake and whatever it pops up I tag to the person's name. My wife was lucky enough to get a she, but unfortunately my best friend is a big bear of a dude who I'll forever refer to as she/her, and my sister is a solid it/its.
