I woke up this morning and took a look in the mirror and was astonished at how feminine my face has become in such a short amount of time! Then I saw the hair, and got upset, because it's still super thin/receding.

Then I woke up. Turns out I was dreaming, my face is still incredibly masculine and fat, and my hair is exactly as bad as it was in the dream.

I know there are ways to set them up where things you use often go to the SSD, and things you don't get moved to a more traditional disk drive. Maybe an option?

I just got back from my writing mentor's memorial. And while it was good to see people I haven't seen in so long, I'm feeling her loss far more keenly today; I realized that I knew so many people there, and she was the one who had introduced me to all of them.

She was like a katamari, but she rolled through life collecting people instead of things. You'd enter her orbit and be carried along. She didn't see any difference between her famous friends and the ones whose name no one would know; everyone was just friends, and she always wanted her friends to meet each other. (Not always with warning, though; I was not the only one there with a tale of "so I met her for brunch/lunch/dinner and then found out that Ursula K. LeGuin/George R.R. Martin/Octavia Butler/Harlan Ellison/whoever was there too, and nearly had a heart attack.")

She was someone unique, there will never be another Vonda, and this evening I'm acutely aware of the hole she's left in so many lives. Like running your tongue over the hole left when a tooth is lost or extracted.

I suppose my peeve is just that this evening, I keep running my tongue over that hole.

I love my job usually but Friday and today are apparently scream at the teller day.

Oh well, it beats getting screamed at by half naked people, which happened occasionally with my last job...

If you are an ISP, and you use speed throttling to restrict the use of overdue accounts (that's totally my bad)... then maybe exclude your "I Would Like To Pay My Bill Please" webpage from the throttle so I can fuckin' pay my bill.

Trying to get back into dating after a breakup two months ago and having absolutely zero luck. Four dating apps later and two dates later(both of which didn't work out)and I'm feeling pretty defeated.

Funny how my best relationships have come out of having dated another MUer in the past, but there is no way I'm doing that long-distance thing again.

Stress / depression (financial issues suck yo) has had me pretty much constantly feeling sick. Upside I guess is that it helped stretch what little food I had (go go my tendency to keep my kitchen fully stocked, too: it took a month to get to my current state of 'only ramen and rice').

My parents get into town Saturday. Blah blah dad had business in Dallas blah blah turned it into birthday/father's day trip for him. I can't afford to take time off and I work second shift, so I'm hoping they don't mind a few days of 'no I can't spend time with you I gotta rest before work today'. We'll see. Trying to avoid getting worked up beforehand but that's not how the anxiety monster works.

Between stress and inheriting, it'd seem, my mother's thinning hair.... I feel you. I dread showering some days because of the handfuls of hair.

My. Freaking. Ankle. Has. Not. Healed.

It has been a month and a half. I know severe sprains take a while to heal but I would like to be able to walk around without having to have an ankle brace, and to not worry about sudden stabbing pains when I take a step.

It is now harshing my mellow and eroding my patience.

Apparently, Microsoft has changed the way you install Office with the most recent Office 2019 program.

Apparently, in order to install Office 2019, you need to download and install a third program and fuddle with some XML code. It's supposed to be "better," but, like, how?

My insurance doesn't cover anything they consider a 'surgical procedure' which awesomely includes the injections my new doctor for my migraines would like to do.

Welp. Maybe I'll get this new job on Monday and have better insurance through them.
