These are times that try men's souls.

Beneath the waves of the oceans of Earth, beasts from beyond the stars have found a secret, so dark, so insidious, that the Emperor of Darkness, the man that will bring the end, cannot resist it.

It is time, Darkseid has decided.

The crime syndicates of Earth have united, with amazing technology and horrifying techniques, from the planet Apokalips, scourging the night with the rigid control of human villainy. By day, Terrans go about their business, terrified. The Justice League battles in the stars, the police have gone underground, and the mercenaries in the world sit in the interdimensional city of Madripoor, summoned by fallen angels to contemplate their last moments. Cutting deals with criminals has become the norm, and the world's greatest tyrants have seized their chance for glory.

Where are the heroes? Is anyone left?

In a little office, in Washington, District of Columbia, a single message goes out, to the federal band.

      Reactivate Taskforce X.

Suicide Squad: Nation Under Fire MUSH.

      portent.genesismuds.com:2077

Now with full combat code and technical support. Volunteer for staff today, and serve your country. It's the only one you have left.

The theme of the MUSH is Antifa activism, so if you're into the modern political scene given Antifa, the election, and law enforcement issues, feel free to stop by. This is a MUSH for election season (the Suicide Squad faction is Antifa, the Intergang faction is the Republicans)

          WTF, Batman, you're Republican now?

            Batman was always a Republican.
He's an obscenely rich man with an entire city as his personal theme park where he can play dress up (with a ridiculously advanced arsenal no less!), beat the impoverished and the mentally ill within an inch of their lives, then catch and release them through an incompetent and crippled healthcare system so he can do it all again.

              @Chet, dude....

With all respect, stop trying to integrate Real Life situations/politics into fantasy games. Most people are playing games to take a break from Real Life, not have it (poorly, TBH) forced into a foundation of their escapist fantasy.

I thought commentary went in another thread?

I have a waggish sense of humor.

I really wish you would just find something else to do with your time. If you are a troll, you have become a stale one. If this is you, I think you are unwell and you are not finding any help here. I know many of us are drawn to the obscenities you come up with like a slow mo trainwreck you just have to see unfold, but enough is enough. Rethink what you are doing, man, one way or the other.

I don't think it's so much 'anti antifa sentiment' as it is 'explicitly playing our favorite colorful comic characters as a metaphor for current social movements instead of just their natural conflicts is a little on the nose'. People want to play characters and stories, not allegories; as far as I know. Plus it's awkward. 'Intergang are the Republicans'. It's like... no, they're Intergang. You can pretend ANYONE you punch is a Republican, but that doesn't make it so.

Plus I think this might be the guy who came onto a game recently and wanted to app repurpose an obscure character as a government agent whose job is to hunt down and murder members of the Irish center-left party, so, y'know.

If you want to make a 'beat up your political enemies' game, maybe don't use superhero characters for it. Just make an OC setting.

Very much this. I'm completely pro-AntiFa, and this pitch just looked needlessly divisive for the sake of 'realism'. For the record, I don't think this needed the 'extra layer' put on it. 'All the heroes are dead or missing, only Task Force X is left to save the day' is more than enough of a pitch to have gotten my interest.

For me, adding in the RL politics is just asking for trouble from trolls and disruptive players. It's setting up unneeded extra drama to the storyline that will absolutely spill over into OOC and doom the game itself.

I personally want nothing RL-wise involved in my RP. As has been stated before, RP is an escape from real life stresses and concerns, that being true for me for sure. Why would I want politics and shit shoved down my throat?

I don't know the history, but folks were super into anti-fascist action as a game theme when Eubanana was running WWII games, I don't really understand why everyone's pissed about it now.

I don't trust it coming from a guy whose last game advertisement included some antisemitic dogwhistles and a weird aside saying his professors told him he needs to include more of the Nazis' viewpoints in his essays about World War II. It would already be weird to tie Antifa to a government-sanctioned group of condemned murderers who serve on suicidally dangerous missions in an attempt to earn pardons for their crimes, but coming from this guy? Pretend I bothered to find the "that's a big yikes from me, dawg" meme.

@RDC On a WWII game, the anti-fascism is literal. You are literally allied forces fighting a force of fascism.

This? This is like saying... Justice League are Antifa, and The Legion of Doom are Republicans.

What does that MEAN? The characters are still the characters. They're still gonna do what the characters would do, right? Do they have to change their behavior to fit the allegory? At best, it's meaningless. At worst it's confusing. It's just this one guy pretending he gets to punch and/or kill people he disagrees with.

Just make an Anitfa game if that's what you want. Don't slap cops and robbers lables on established characters. Like someone else said, the base premise had legs on it's own. The Antifa thing just makes it awkward.

                                      None of this is real.

He's been "making" games no one plays for years.

It's part of the Chet Method. We call it trolling.

                                      Edited for spelling.

Defunct website link, indeed does not appear to be a real game. Locking this thread, if you guys want to continue discussing it though you're welcome to create a hog pit post and I will move the discussion into there.

Chet, consider this a warning. If you want to troll people there are other avenues to do it. Don't use the advertising section to do it. If you actually are trying to start this game, and your bad link was in error, please contact Arkandel, Ganymede, or myself.
