Variety 2: 'wtf dude did you just like go hump an evergreen or something'? Why do people think men need to smell like pine needles and sawdust? Why has this variety of scent not changed since our grandpa's grandpa's grandpa was probably out literally humping a pine tree or whatever?

Cedar and pine smell great, you weirdo.

Anyways, I have a soaps with scents of Citrus & Hops (I love that one) and Sandalwood & Bourbon. I have beard shampoo and beard oil (Maestro's brand Speakeasy scent) that is tobacco and vanilla. Great masculine scent combinations.

@ominous I will agree that cedar smells great. I am very much over the pine smell. It's just too antiseptic for my preference.

Tobacco and vanilla are great, provided you get it from a company that does the tobacco scent well. Otherwise it ends up smelling like wet ash and fakey vanilla flavoring.

My general feeling on perfume and cologne is that if I can smell you in public, it's always an extremely unpleasant sensation.

If you are going to spread a scent around, one of the nicest ones is probably fresh bread.

What is obvious to you may not be obvious to me and vice versa.

Well, I went and did it. Bought the supplies, the mailing stuff... yeaaaaah.

-head desk- It just hit me in the chest. I maayyyyybe should have given myself a day or two to get over the anxiety attacks from yesterday first.

                But it's done now!

I was able to schedule a covid vax for my youngest (age 7) for this coming Saturday. I will admit I cried and probably his second vax day will be as emotional for me as mine was.

My son has asthma and a reactive airway that lands him in the ER and has almost hospitalized him several times each year when he contracts an upper respiratory virus, since he was a baby.

It is hard to describe the level of fear and stress and guilt I have been living with over the last two years (even though it's been suppressed so I can function) as I have had to work public facing and interactive jobs this whole time. Its pretty hard to feel worried day after day that you are going to kill your kid.

Knowing how much his complication rate will statistically go down even after the first shot makes me super emotional.

So, I did something today I might get mocked for. Roommate wanted to go to the psychic fair in town, so we did.

I got some pretty rocks, and then went to a medium for a reading. All this woman knows is my first name. I sit down, she takes my hand and goes. "Oh, you lost your mom at a young age. She says she's sorry, she didn't abandon you. She always heard you when you talked to her. She didn't leave.

... And now I sit here with this, and the rest of what she said.

I may have mocked you for it a decade ago, but I've grown the fuck up since then.

Does anyone have strong experience with disability from the government? I have a friend who applied and didn't succeed, and I am wondering if they should get a lawyer or a service to help or what. PM if you have any advice or thoughts.

I have a waggish sense of humor.

Getting a lawyer raises your chances of success, but will not speed the process up. If your friend is a veteran, they can seek assistance from their local veterans service commission.

So today I have bloodwork and an EKG for ADD meds.

Log into work, and nothing works, on top of the fact I'm still stuck trying to do this bullshit that's ramping up my anxiety. (Current state is tight chest and stomach threatening to vacate contents)

I'm trying to get my supervisor to help, and he's ignoring me.

                            Jesus Fuck

EKG looks good, we'll see about the bloodwork. One step closer to ADD meds!

So, after more than 3 weeks, I finally got approval for my gaming headset... but they're trying to say it will be furnished by employee..

Uh, no. That was the WHOLE FUCKING POINT for getting an accommodation.

@macha Wait, what? They thought you were asking for permission to spend your money to buy your own headset?
