@TiredEwok Oh no I saw him speak once, he was awesome.
-
Everything and everyone who was good in this world is leaving us. I am devastated about the loss of our favorite Wookiee.
-
@SabotKick72
Time for some booze. -
-
@Insomnia I think you'll find that Sir Roger died two years ago.
-
@Rowan Yep. I my defense I am constantly having to be reminded it's May of 2019. Like... the 70's were 30 years ago, right? Even if I saw the date it wouldn't have registered.

Just to help even more, 1980 was 40 years ago. The 70s is like 4+ decades ago.

Then it didn't fall until May of 1453.

@Tinuviel
The Empire had been divided into two wholly separate states by the time of the Western empire's collapse, and while the Eastern empire called itself Roman, "Rome" in the English language has been reserved for the city-state and attendant western political entities.So pbbbth.

Then that didn't end until 1806 with the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire...

Seems like a conversation that doesn't quite belong in this thread anymore. Also...
-
Doris Day, aged 97. This makes me unbelievably sad. Such a legendary talent.

I said "the city-state and attendant western political entities," not "horrific political conglomerates with the word 'Rome' in their name."

RIP Tim Conway, the elephant story is still fucking hilarious...
