@TNP nooooooooooooooo
-
Now I’m grumpy.
-
I woke up to the news that Grumpy Cat had passed away. Really sad.
-
I M Pei, arguably one of the most renowned and distinctive architects in the world, at age 102. I'm not really an architecture nerd—or even given much to paying attention to individual architects at all—but he was one of the few whose work I recognized, and I really loved his style: clean, geometrically simple, and focused on natural light. He was the man behind the Louvre pyramid, the Bank of China tower, and though he wasn't the designer of the Apple retail stores it's not a secret that they were inspired by his aesthetic.
-
@Sparks I'm sad about that one, too. I'm also not an architecture nerd, but my alma mater had a really beautiful building built by him back in the 60s or 70s, and I always thought that was so cool.
-
I heard of his passing but didn't know who he was. I'll have to look him up.
-
Herman Wouk - 104 years old
The Caine Mutiny
Winds of War -
Some people consider sports legends to be celebrities, so I'm going to post for Niki Lauda, three time F1 champion and the only driver in history to win championships for both Ferrari and McLaren dead at 70.
The movie "Rush" (2013, not 1991) chronicles his rivalry with fellow racer James Hunt as well as his vocal issues about F1 driver safety in the 70s.
-
Justin Ponsor (it's a stretch, but..) Colorist for Marvel comics for the last 15 years - Death of Wolverine, Avengers, Civil War II, and tons more.
-
Paul Darrow, 78 — the actor who played Kerr Avon on the classic (and extremely low-budget) British science fiction show "Blake's 7".
-
@Sparks OH NO.

I mean, it's not really a surprise; he wasn't in great shape. He lost both his legs a couple of years ago after a major aortic aneurysm, his health had reached the point he had really only been doing voice acting in video games (and playing Avon in the Big Finish audio dramas for Blake's 7), and even that had tapered off.
But he was Kerr Avon! He was a recurring actor playing one-off characters in classic Doctor Who! He was the voice of Grand Moff Tarkin in some of the Star Wars games, and of Overseer Tremel in SWTOR!
So I'm sad anyway.
-
Dr. John, and a week after Leah Chase. New Orleans has had it rough.
-
Today would have been Wade Boggs' 61st Birthday. He once drank 70 beers during a single flight across the USA.
RIP Boss Hogg.
-
@ghost You know Wade Bogg's is still alive, right? Or is this an Always in Sunny thing...?

Would I post a thing related to Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Moi?
Season 10, Episode 1: The Gang Beats Boggs

Cameron Boyce from Jessie and Descendants film series...
-
@Lotherio Yeah, he was way too young.
