That's not how this works.
Just saw the list of voice actors for the Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and nearly wet myself.
Not with urine, mind.
I don't think I've seen a finer cast assembled ever.
My only worry is how many of them have never done voice acting before (or done very little) and how many actors become 'Famous, Recognizable Person providing voice over for <character>.'
Mark Hamill (who I was pleased to see on the list, mind!) is sort of unique in that he's a damn fine VA, but also a fairly big name actor.
I can very resolutely promise you that these actors very well likely HAVE done plenty of VO work ...they just didn't issue a credit for it.
VO work pays the bills for a fuckloadton of actors. VO work is also often nonunion.
But who's to say if that's your voice if you don't take a credit for it...

I have a very big issue with the casting choice.
Nynaeve.
That girl is too damn tall to be Nynaeve. Zoe is 5'8. Harris is 6'0.
Nynaeve is short in the books. Like, WoD wolf-blooded girl short. She barely came up to Mat's shoulder.
I want a short, tiny, dark-haired, dark-eyed firecracker of anger and magical firepower.
I feel betrayed.
ETA: And Rosamund Pike as Moiraine?!? At 5'9, when she's even shorter than Nynaeve in the books! This is an outrage!

Hopefully the series will improve the characters because RJ's inability to mature his female characters was one reason I abandoned the books. Having them be petulant children who didn't communicate their feelings ('If you don't know why I'm mad, I'm not going to tell you' HRMPH braid tug) in the beginning was fine because they were children. But having them behave EXACTLY the same after time and experience and increasing responsibility made me be like 'fuck this shit'.
In other news...
Succession is awesome and I loved Euphoria. Zendaya's acting was heart breaking.

Succession is FUCKING BANANAS and I love it. I was turned off by the 'family drama about rich people' concept that felt really overdone but then I realized it was well-acted and darkly funny and 150% insane, so I will ride with this.

Either way the camera can do great things - and a good actor can pull off even more amazing feats in terms of the fit between them and their characters. Kit Harington is uh, not the tallest guy but he pulled off a pretty damn convincing Jon Snow throughout eight seasons of GoT. Emilia Clarke didn't even wear purple contact lenses for Dany's funky eyes, did anyone really miss that?
Seriously, physicality is the least of the concerns anyone should have about casting. There are so many other factors - from acting chops, budget, directing, script pace, dialogue - that will affect how the show is perceived. If that clicks then no one is going to miss an inch of height compared to the books. Who freakin' cares.

@Arkandel The character was written as being very short though as a key part of how people view her. It's not quite Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, but it's a little odd.

Eh, Wolverine's shortness was pretty wrapped up in how he was read in the comics for years. People were peeved about Jackman's height when he was cast, but it was forgiven pretty readily with the first movie when his acting proved his suitability.

@Roz I would agree with your statement, but it did not apply to me. Most people did forgive it. I did not. I love Hugh Jackman. He's awesome. But his character was hollow. He could have played any generic or original super hero ("Claw Man!") with claws and nothing would have changed. He wasn't Wolverine. In this case, height matters. He was better suited to playing Sabertooth.
Wolverine was short, underestimated, overlooked, and disregarded his entire life. This created a huge chip on his shoulder that he could not get past. It made him cranky and touchy, downright unlikable to most, and prone to overreaction due to his Napoleon complex. People look at him and immediately discount him. This pissed him off and he fought using the chip on his shoulder as much as his claws. His combat was rabid and frenzied and always turned up to 11 - just like some small animal that is known for taking down much bigger prey that I can't quite recall at the moment...
This is Wolverine. What Fox did was reduce the character of Wolverine to his claws and his healing. As long as those were there, to them, the character was Wolverine. It wasn't. Not to me anyway. The claws and the healing were just features. Everything they disregarded was the character of Wolverine.
I think they figured, most people paying for the movie don't read comic books and those who do aren't intimately familiar with Wolverine's relationship to his height so ultimately it won't matter. And for the most part I think they were right. However... It was this same kind of corner cutting and overall lack of detail that went into every aspect of their films that made all the Fox superhero movies blow chunks compared to the Marvel movies.

@Warma-Sheen That is one take on the character - perhaps your favorite one, but not by any means the only interpretation. Keep in mind Logan has been around for decades and he's been written by multiple people, all with a bit of their own twist on him.
Logan has been as you describe him. He's also been seen as highly regarded, a team leader, a sought-out romantic partner (the guy has been around), an unstoppable killer, a father figure, etc. They are all him.

I started it on this recommendation, I agree, wealth porn is overdone, but this show's pretty funny. It's like a dryer Arrested Development.

I read a comic where Wolverine ends up in something like a kimono because he married some Japanese woman of stature and power, and the rest of the X-men laughed at him and made fun of his getting married.
The marriage happened off panel, too.
I will take Hugh Jackman over bad storytelling any day.

Unfortunately, the movie was about as bad as the comic. They could have done some amazing things with it but they were trying too hard to be like the comics in the wrong places.

Sure, everyone is going to love something different about their entertainment, but there is no one Wolverine, even through the comics because of the evolution of and changes with the medium, the writers, and the artists.
I feel fortunate that I can mentally separate stories based on medium. LotR was not as accurate to the books as it could be, but it was still a game-changing movie trilogy that I enjoyed end to end.

Wes Chatham, purportedly, is a huge fan of the books and all but demanded to play Amos.
Srsly tho their casting is absolutely on point which is part of why I love the show. Every character is just...
I mean Bobbie is amazing.
Shohreh Aghdashloo is a goddess and I love her as Chrisjen and her portrayal makes me WANT MORE CHRISJEN as I'm reading the books.Alex and his 'product of a planet that was primarily settled by India and Texas' is amazing and I'm so glad they left his drawl and mannerisms intact for the show.

@Auspice It really says something about good casting when: You read the first several books before watching the TV series and everyone is vaguely amorphous. Then you watch a couple seasons and read the last two books and suddenly EVERYONE in your head looks like the TV series. I can't even recall what they were like in my previous mental state.
Shohreh and Wes are beyond perfect.
