@ganymede It's for the printer which sprays it on and we def don't want that running, so it makes sense. The ink doesn't run when it's wet with watercolor, so painting these is an option. On regular paper for a coloring book (thin cardstock, I think) it'll handle liquid painT and colored pencils splendidly.
ETA: some T.

So like -- where do we order a copy of this coloring book? It looks bonkers fun. <.< >.>

I'm going to put it in my Etsy store. it's not very big, there's maybe 10 images? But they're all ladies of sword or sorcery or myth.

Finally found an apartment, and were approved, and I can start moving in next week!

Since January my SO and I have been having a 'date night' once a week where we go to the only restaurant in our little town of 300 (nearest city 40 miles one way) for dinner. In the beginning it was because they'd started a new 'Friday special' that was something the cook, a really cool lady, would make herself as opposed to a regular bar and grill greasy spoon menu item.
I got to eat some really good food I'd never have tried on my own because of it, then about a month ago, they stopped having the special, which was a real bummer, but we still go every Friday because it's nice to have one day a week where I don't cook all three meals and we never really get to do anything that's not a duty.
Tonight we went in and were talking to her and the bartender/owner while browsing the menu when she beckoned us over to the corner by the register to tell us she'd made(!) and frozen(!) one of her own recipes and brought it to heat up just for us!
It probably sounds SO silly to be SO chuffed about such a thing, but she really is a wonderful cook plus just how sweet and thoughtful even THINKING of doing that is, much less convincing the owner to let her offer us the meal despite the owner having been the one to put the kibosh on the specials has made my otherwise kind of blah week.

Yeah, and that's honestly a generous accounting. It's a mining town, so a hefty chunk of them are actually part-timers who stay for their two-week shifts then split for their four days off then come back. The town itself is one mile square, and for a few miles out either way there are quite a few hardscrabblers who live off-grid entirely.
The entire county is only 1200 people over 4100 square miles, though most of them live in the county seat which is 96 miles away (one way) in summer, and 139 miles away any time dirt roads are a bad idea. We have I think seven total deputies in the whole county, two in this town and if it's after like six p.m. you have to drive over to the trailers they reside in when they're assigned here (I think they rotate) for non-emergencies.
We have an all volunteer fire department but we lost our volunteer EMS/ambulance service a few years back to a really grisly suicide that just wrecked them all, and now rely on helicopter lifts for medical emergencies.
Also, our last elected sheriff was in an armed standoff against B.L.M. on the side of a native rancher family, with the standoff ending when one of the brothers self-immolated (he lived, somehow). I think we're the only registered Democrats in the county but because I've done pro bono advocacy for a lot of people in town, they don't ride us out on a rail tarred and feathered.
It's kind of a trippy place, especially for someone who grew up in the OC most of her life and I've even had a friend request I make the town into a MUD setting.
TL;DR - I babble too much when I'm content and have the itis.

@eye8urcake And here I was thinking my town of 140-150k is too small.

I will never forget the time we were on a very long roadtrip with my in-laws and their van broke down on the side of the highway in the middle-of-nowhere, Kentucky.
We were able to get it to the nearest mechanic, which was fortunately at the next stop on the highway. Having no idea where we were at that point aside from 'somewhere northeast of Bowling Green', we asked the mechanic, who told us that the nearest 'city' was Willisburg.
None of us had a smartphone at the time and honestly, even if we did, there probably wouldn't have been a signal. So I looked up Willisburg when we got home.
The 'city' of Willisburg has a population of 304.
I think one of us might be confused about the definition of the word 'city', sir.

I have two more high school graduates now in my family! And they wanted to impromptu invite their friends' circle who didn't want to/couldn't afford to go to the official grad night party over. (which is most of their friends' group). So now they're very noisily downstairs playing mario party and MTG (after letting my youngest hang out with them a bit--everyone at the house has known him since he was a newborn, and they could hear him cheering for them at the graduation even though people weren't supposed to cheer until the end). And I'm super happy but also getting a little teary eyed that this fall they'll all be scattered to the winds and I won't see them very often anymore, these sweet boys-now-young-men that have been part of our family life since they were all in 7th grade.

I don't know if this belongs here or in the RL peeves thread!
On my birthday my college roommate made a post in FB tagging me about 'mentoring him in Magic: the Gathering' back in the day and reminding me MtG Arena is a thing.
Fuck you Nick! I love Arena now. It had been well over a decade since I had played my last duel, and now I've found myself doing dailies, trying to resist the urge to spend money on the damn thing. It's so much fun! Argh.

I pick up the keys today. Nervous and anxious and happy, all at once.

It's actually happening. I started shifting things over. Much less anxiety, and more excitement

After a torn rotator cuff injury that went too long undiagnosed during the peak of Covid shutdowns, FINALLY getting back to drawing.
My daughter is almost five, and finally at that stage where I can say "Mommy needs a little time to herself to work", and she gets it. For about fifteen to twenty minutes.
But damnit if I'm not finally retraining myself how to draw and paint, fifteen to twenty minutes at a time. xDThe person who commissioned that drawing has been a patient, near saint like person. Figuring this out has taken me at least three times longer than was typical. So... Just really excited that it's coming together.
Can't wait to get started on some new things. Also, more random but, my kid has crazy-in-the-humidity hair like I do, and I love it so much.

There is so much frackin' art talent here that I am feeling very inadequate.
