@TNP That's just it: this last time, it was written down: DO NOT PRESCRIBE THIS.
...he did it anyway. I was too out of it to argue with him before he left the room (immediately after the cutting and prying and... ) I was cringing too much to even speak; body horror is a thing.
They called it in, so we only found out when we picked it up and I immediately began swearing like a sailor. It is so head-desk-worthy. We're going to have to call the GP to tell him to refill the other one, essentially.
It is only marginally less frustrating and ridiculous on the 'no, really, reading things is important, especially medical things!!!' front than the dude earlier in the year who wanted me to come in -- for what they were as casual about as if it was just an office visit -- for major surgery to remove a stent... from an entire organ I no longer had. Admittedly, getting to tell them they could remove it if they wanted, but they'd have to check it out of the pathology lab, was somewhat entertaining.

Just lie and tell them you're allergic to bactrim so they stop giving it to you. It will limit the choices available to you in the future as they'll probably avoid the whole family of drugs, but at it will force them to give you something different.
I was going to suggest exactly this. I do this myself because lupus makes whole classes really bad, and I never get shit for saying so.

I still fucking hate working in retail. Today, we had someone knock over most of a wine shelf. Woo.

when I left the house to drag myself into work, despite my body breaking down on me today (my finger is throbbing, I have a migraine, I just started my period, etc)-- I also left a bird trapped in a heating vent, because it wouldn't let me pull it out and see it to the door.
Hopefully when I get back, it'll still be alive, but my cats were actually hunting for once in their lazy lives so-- I don't know.
(note, I only came in because my boss was texting with his disapproving voice.)

This is why we have check-in/walk-through lists for new apartments, I guess.
Air-con isn't working right. It's on, set to something like 68-ish or whatever.... but still reading at 80 and humid and sticky and gross. Curse it all! I was looking forward to blessed AC!

As many people know, due to my being open about this, my oldest is autisic. Tonight he bailed out of the house, requiring me to send his brother after him and me calling 911 since I didn't know where they were going to wind up and needing a mediator during times like this. Dispatch sent out two cars, three officers in total, who helped defuse the problem and got him home down the block while his brother and I followed, taking that short span of time to calm down.
After he got inside I talked to the officers for a moment and they mentioned how they have absolutely no training in how to handle situations with people like my son and other mental disabilities because they have no funding for such. This angers me as well as saddens me. Clarksville is a military town and a lot of people are vets who have PTSD and they could benefit from police officers who know how to help, along with people like my son. Makes me want to win the lottery just so I could give it to them so they can have that training.

The day we view mental health the same way we view physical health is the day we'll start seeing proper training for dealing with breakdowns in it.

Playing RPGs should be a diagnostic criteria for autism.

I skipped exercise two days in a row. I went to the gym today and it's closed for "maintenance." Feels bad man.

So I have to have foot surgery if I ever want to be able to walk, dance, run, or do yoga again without pain. BLEH

Ugh. I completely understand this and I'm sorry. I have had way too many surgeries on my foot and it suuuuucks. Long term foot pain is the worst.
-
@Kanye-Qwest and @sunny Here's looking forward to dancing and walking and runing and doing yoga etc.
-
@Kanye-Qwest I feel weird upvoting that. It was an empathetic upvote, not that I like that you have to have surgery!

Augh! Sympathies. I do find walking in particular useful to be able to do, and I imagine you do also.

@Sparks Yeah, I'm not able to take my long walks with my pupper at night, and it's really bumming me out. That's, like, our special time! And it's when I get to listen to podcasts/audiobooks.

Aw, I'm very sorry. I understand how emotionally restorative doing that can be.

Phone call from my mother to check on me turned into her ranting about my brother. Of my four siblings, he's doing the best for himself. Sure, he still lives at home (he's 21), but he's had the same job for three years, he's always got a few grand in his account, he always pays them a few hundred dollars a month (without complaint, right at the start of the month), and whenever they need help financially, he's right there to do so.
But he spends money on video games! And video game paraphernalia!
My other three siblings are messes in their own ways. And absolutely terrible with money. But he buys figurines.
I know it just boils down to the fact that they're upset that 4 of their 5 kids aren't 'right.' They have three sons and all three hate sports, are useless with cars, and one is gay while the other two have never been brave enough to ask a girl out.
My sister, the 'pride and joy,' can steal money from them, but have it waved off because she's 'such a good Christian girl.'
But it just grates on me how often my mom complains about my one brother. More than the rest, despite how he's, comparatively, fucking up less than all the rest of us. I'd love to see him get his own place, sure. I agree with her on that front. But he's a damn good kid and he has one fucking hobby that isn't even an abnormal one these days.
