On the subject of unexpected people in the house, I did put a gun on my roomie's mother when she invited herself in while he was away on vacation and I woke up to hear her rummaging. This was in the hood in Minneapolis. Cheap rent, nice neighbors to either side, but a rough neighborhood. She didn't do it again even after I apologized.

My first college roommate used to keep her room key to the shared room we had on top of the light fixture in our suite bathroom, then leave the suite door unlocked so her boyfriend could come into our room whenever he fucking felt like it. She did not inform me that they were doing this. I found her key, tossed it into our room, locked the room, and locked the suite door. She had the ladyballs to go to the RA about it - who wrote her up and told her that if she'd been in the same position, she would have flushed the fucking key instead.

Turned out that 3 of the four other women in the suite didn't care that they did this because they all shared a suite together the year prior; only myself and the woman in the single were noobs in the situation. Suffice to say. the following semester the woman in the single and myself had three new suitemates.

...I do have a kigurumi (they're those onesies that have like, animal patterns >.>). It's my 'I'm sick and cranky and just want to be cozy' outfit.

Regarding religious folks... I haven't had any come by in a while. The Mormons that came through were for the Spanish LDS church. But then they sent the English ones. Usually I just ask them how long they've been on their mission, what they plan to do after, etc.

My favorite, really, was the cult based on 'God the Mother.' They were kind of fascinating, actually.

Normally, I'm polite to people coming to the door, but my goal is to get them to go away as quick as possible. I take their religious track, make nice and send them on their way. God the Mother people came by and I was like wait, what? That one, I admit I totally took the time to hear out.

These are the two main questions I would have. Because I do pack heat. And I am usually the only signor on the lease.

Come in unannounced? Ohio's got the Castle Rule. Landlord finds a stranger here? We're out on the street.

It's really as simply as that.

I do want a gun again someday, but I plan to get proper training vs the South Carolina method of 'let's go out to X's property and shoot at random things.'

So, my parents have this thing about making insane and impossible demands, and I live next door to them, so there's little I can do but 'my level best to ignore it'.

I think I'm finally going to get a break, because they're going on vacation this week.

My husband drove them to the airport, in my mother's car.

Doing errands on the way home, he hit some debris and destroyed the back tires and wheels.

Thank gods he's all right, but so much for my vacation from them screaming at me. (Because he won't get screamed at. I definitely will.)

It's important to have options for the zombie apocalypse. You can only stab zombies with the same knife for so long before it gets boring.

This is more frustration at myself than anything.

After my lease here is up, I'm moving in with someone (save money!) who has two cats. One of their cats is on a special diet for health reasons. So I was switching my cat over so she'd be well-used to the food (since their cats and mine 'free feed' on dry food).

...despite it being a limited ingredient food, it's been upsetting her stomach. She's never had problems with food before and has been a pretty 'eats whatever she's given' cat, so I thought, when she first began throwing the food out of the bowl to get at the old food (since you generally slowly transition in the new) that she was just being picky.

But it's been about a week of just the new and she's avoiding eating and when she does, has puked. I wanted to give it a few days to be sure she wasn't just being bratty, but no. $:\$

I've gotten new food that I know she tolerates and likes, but I still feel bad that I put her through that.

So I used to get 1-2 hours in the morning sans-migraine. Gave me time to get settled in for work, shower, maybe eat.
