@Arkandel: I never, ever take Rock outside without being on a leash, unless we are in a completely enclosed area. Because if he decides to take off, well - he'll make 45 mph in six to eight strides. I keep him away from cats in general, and I always have access to at least one muzzle (I keep a backup in my car just in case, as well).

I used to go to dog parks, and I would let the smaller dog owners know, "hey, my dog has a prey drive, please keep an eye on your little one" - sometimes they'd just shrug me off, and fortunately nothing terrible happened, but I'm hyperaware that it could have.

I don't generally expose Rock to cats, I'm just tired of every cat owner I know when having a conversation insisting that their feline can kick my dog's ass. Like yes, I get it, cats can hold their own against a lot of different dogs, but greyhounds are trained hunters and they're fast as fuck, but it's just as likely he will get his jaws around your furbaby and things will not end well. It's like they want to start a pissing contest I'd rather not get into in the first place.

        @Cupcake I getcha, and definitely.

At first I was like... 'wait, was there some scandal involving The Rock and cats? Do I need to google a thing here? Do I need to check facebook about something because I know it'll be there but I really hate checking facebook ever for anything... '

        Oh fucking well.

Oh naw, nothing happened beyond yet another conversation with a cat owner where they insisted that their cat would take down my dog. To which my best response was

My cats are lazy and cowardly. I am reasonably sure the only ass they could kick would be each others', if they had the nerve to find out beyond the occasional hilarious round of rock-'em-sock-'em robots they go through whenever they meet on the stairs. (After which they run and hide for at least an hour.)

We adopted them as adults, and have no idea what on earth their former owners were like.

Probably, assholes. We were told the one was not really friendly (and she's always on the back of my chair if I'm in the chair) and the other we were told was absolutely not a people cat, and would barely let anyone pet her, let alone pick her up, she'd never sleep on the bed, etc. She is, of course, the one that prances down the hall like a Disney princess singing trills at us until she can race up to us and headbonk the dickens out of us until we pick her up.

I have no idea what on earth their previous owners did, but I would kinda like to kick them in the shins more than just a little.

            Oh fucking well.

My dog is small (12.5 pounds). He's always on a leash and he gets excited and jumps. So I always stop people who run at my dog. I'm like, you can't touch him until I tell him to sit. I almost took out a kid that ran at my dog. I clothlined that child and was like NOPE. Don't ever run up to an unknown dog, ever.

His parents were offended I stopped them. So I asked if they would rather be calling 911 because of an animal attack. They thought for a moment and luckily you could see the light bulb click on.

Our dog parks are separated by small and large breed because of the prey issues. One lady had her pitbull in there. Which is a lovely dog and was, but they tend to see little dogs and animals as prey. This IS NOT the dog's fault. I kindly told her to go to the big dog side.

I have had cats that have taken on Rottweilers and lived to tell the tale (but that cat was just a beast anyways, I miss that furry scrap of awesome)... my current two cats?

......BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yeahno. These cats don't even GO outside, let alone have interactions with dogs. If someone tells me 'hey, my dog has a prey drive', my response is 'please do not bring them to my house that is my cats' only safe space'.

You don't TRY to pit your 8 pound cat against a 40+ pound hunting machine. That's called animal cruelty and I will report a motherfucker.

My new kitten has zero fucks to give. Seriously, he ran out or he never had any, I don't know; he just knows no fear. He's sweet and likes other animals, but he doesn't fear anything.

So my two dogs like him (although he's a bit much and they're tired of his shit by now so they kind of avoid him mostly) but my older cat hates his goddamn guts, and beats him up every time he's near... and he just doesn't care. He just goes to her, again and again, like it's a fucking game they're having a blast playing ("she really loves me! Ow. She really does! ow").

So I'm pretty sure if that moron ever does manage to sneak outside - he's meant to be an indoors-only cat but he doesn't like that, and all it takes is one momentary lapse to break out - and meets a predator he's gonna go right up to it. Meh.

Speaking as a chronic migraine sufferer, you not only can, but after three days of a migraine, you're arguably supposed to in order to avoid status migrainosis.

(I say this having been pushing through a migraine for more than 3 days right now. So, do as I say, not as I do, apparently.)

...when you think things are looking up, then stumble over a file you forgot you still had that upsets you deeply.

And then the person it relates to does one of the things that drives you batshit on top, when you were really hoping they weren't going to do that shit again, either.

First, getting thrown under a bus by a co-worker in front of bosses. The next day, taking the high road and stepping in to bail co-worker's ass out of the proverbial fire.

Then having co-worker take full credit for saving things. Despite evidence to the otherwise.

At least it is easy to tell that you have good bosses when they spot shit like this.

Each migraine I get breaks roughly that often. I get a day off for every 1-2 weeks of pain.

Honestly, as someone who suffers both migraines and cluster headaches (and is closing in on two weeks of cluster right now), that sounds terribly familiar. If it is a cluster, oxygen treatments might (but not definitely) help.

It still isn't normal migraine, so be very careful.

I hate when people go 'Oh just get a...'

                                          'Just set some money aside!'

This isn't exactly anger, but I can't call it something I love. More something that makes me wince with all the wincing: the husband sent a link to a show we watched as kids back in the 80s.

OMFG THIS SHOW WAS SO CULTURALLY INSENSITIVE IT IS A MIND-BLOWER.

I don't think they intended to be? But. Uh. OMG. What in the actual fuck.

If the very clearly caucasian lady playing the Japanese princess and referring to herself as part of 'us Orientals' wasn't bad enough in the pilot, the second episode where they had to free The Mud People slaves from a freighter, uh. Just. Uhm. UHM. Seriously. "Who are they?" "Oh, they're the Mud People!" I wish I was making this up. I am blinking so hard at this shit my lashes are probably kicking up a breeze by now.

What. In. The. Actual. Fuck. 1980s. ?!.
