@Auspice Sorry you (and other women) have to deal with this kinda thing. It's bad enough having to worry about predatory men, but to get it from both sides has to be tiresome and frustrating.

I seriously would like a group of people that can come over on a consistent basis and play table top games (Be it an RPG or just a board game). The friends we have in the area that play are...well...not exactly consistent all the time. Love them, but we can't rely on them to be available when they say they are.

Most of what Ghost says is why I don't try and find random people at the local game store, or anything like that. I'm a guy, I don't have parts that get ogled like women do, but I have a wife and I have a kid and I don't know these random people so why would I want to invite them into my house where they could be creepy or worse?

So I sit with all these games that remain underplayed save for the times I can actually manage to wrangle some players up.

It sucks. I wish I could trust people so I could make some new friends, but I feel bad for the women because they have it so much worse.

Is it weird that I play someone who is supposed to be kind of a manho (Luke Cage), but I don't flirt or do much of anything in that regard because I feel weird OOCly that if I RP those elements of him I am afraid I will be labeled as just trolling for TS?

Is it doubly weird that this is coming from the guy that played Kaleb (If you know, you know) where I didn't care if that is how I might have been labeled?

I wouldn't hate it if MU's moved to a different more secure port. I don't know why it hasn't moved up with the times to use a more secure connection.

The Pure thing ended up being a blessing in disguise for me since I was at the time a ghost that was headed Pure way, but it was easy enough to turn around...and that lead to a bunch of really good RP (and even some friends that I still talk to even though we don't game together anymore). So, while it might not have been the best thing or the best way to go about doing it, it wasn't ALL bad.

Just wanted to let you know that some good did come out of it, so don't hate on yourself to much.

@mietze I'm sorry you had to deal with this. This makes my scaremongering boss at the job issues pale in comparison. I don't' think I could do what you do and stay sane without clocking someone, thus ending that career.

@Aria Or I have no doubts. I'm close to starting looking at finding a new job myself. I just hate the process of hunting.

I just got out of a meeting where the new interim department head said that he is changing the annual merit increase policy to only give raises to the top 10-20 percent, 60 percent will get nothing, and the bottom 10% will be possibly put on a PIP and/or fired.

Wow, that is a great way to build morale.
