@Aria As a digital marketing professional, sloppy remarketing just offends me.

      GET YOUR PIXELS WORKING STRAIGHT.

Ironically, that's what my MBA is going to focus on. Maybe I should do my capstone on How Not to Digitally Market a Marketing MBA.

Advertisements for things I already bought/signed up for/enrolled in.

Now that I've started grad school? I get at least 2-3 emails every single day about the degree I'm currently pursuing from schools I never contacted, like maybe I'm trying to build up a collection of MBA degrees as if they're Precious Moments figurines or something.

"This is my limited edition 2023 MBA from Arizona State. As you can see, it was signed by the Dean. Over here is my 2022 MBA from WSU, which was only available to a small selection of students who signed on before their waiting list was built. And this one here from UNC is the pride of my collection! It cost $80,000."

I also have been getting banner ads for the exact slippers I bought on Tuesday every single day since then, the newspapers I already subscribe to, and the wrist pad I got from Staples to go with my keyboard.

Did someone break Google or something? What is going on?

      Did you throat-punch them?

I would have throat-punched them and yelled: "how's that hoax cough now, bitch?"

      West Chester? Cincinnati?

Now y’all talking about my neck of the woods.

Still want to play and staff a game centered around Dayton.

My last PC was raised there.

Pssst. She means West Chester, PA. Not West Chester, OH.

It's a suburb of Philadelphia, where one of our more popular state universities is located. (In fact, @insomniac7809 almost went to school there.) And it's a big part of why I'm super surprised I've never seen a WoD game set in the area. People seem to spend a lot of time making up super weird settings that work for sprawling Werewolf territories but also major populations for Vampire feeding grounds and monstrous skyscrapers for dudes who want to play "The Wolf of Wall Street" and and and.....

And I'm just over here like, "You know that city already exists, right? The Comcast Center is definitely where the Panopticon is headquartered and is also, like, maybe twenty miles from the cows I drive past on my way to work."

Out of sheer nostalgia I'd like to see a 1990's setting. I want to see trench-coats, brick-phones and Usenet.

A friend was doing an online tabletop thing set in 1997-ish and I was so excited to be like "MY CHARACTER WORKS AT THE USED CD STORE"

I would play the shit out of Empire Records: The MUSH.

      hahahaha

I binged through whatever seasons were on prior to this last one a while ago, so obviously it hooked me enough to keep me watching, but definitely in a sort of 'this is so bad its amazing' sense at times. How many times can you do 'Uhtred literally saves your entire fucking Kingdom' -> 'Uhtred makes some small social gaff' -> 'UHTRED IS A VILLAINOUS HEATHEN AND BANISHED'? HOW MANY?

(Runner up: how many times can you hand him a random new love interest and then kill/otherwise remove her? that fridge must be getting crowded)

Am starting to believe that flashy period epics on Netflix are the home for retired CW teen-targeted show actors, between this and The Last Kingdom inheriting at least one of them. (Medici has a couple.) It's good to see them in things that seem to showcase more range than CW tended to give 'em. So when I say, 'the cast is surprisingly good', don't give in to that inclination to see those familiar faces and roll your eyes -- it also has Dennis Hoffman, Sean Bean, Ray Stephenson, and Julian Sands, after all (all of whom I ❤ to death).

Everyone please just watch The Last Kingdom. I want more seasons of this show and there's still, like, five or six books worth of material to cover and also I would like to smooch Alexander Dreymon's face eleven thousand times.

      That's all.

@Kestrel Man, I wouldn't care if they were just boning it and I could hear it. Whatever. I'd just put some music on or turn my show up. It's that they do put music on and while that music is horrible, their sound system is very good. I've tried drowning them out. It doesn't work. Just sex noises would be easier to deal with.

I can always tell when my neighbors are fucking in the middle of the day because of the music they play.

And frankly, whatever, dude. I live in a rowhome. Sometimes overhearing whatever is happening nextdoor, whether it's sex or renovations or someone cheering at the game they're watching, is just part of daily life. You get used to it.

Except they play R&B the whole time - before, during, and for a substantial time after. And not just R&B, but really, really bad R&B that's been run through too much auto-tune.

Please just fuck to better music, guys. This is unbearable.

Thinking you've said something wrong to a friend and suddenly they stop responding to you on various messengers and thinking they're mad at you.

When probably they're just busy with their own stuff, like life, work, family, and just because it says their online doesn't actually mean they're free to talk. They're just busy.

You didn't do anything, you're just thinking of reasons why they haven't responded in the last few days and clearly meaning it's your fault. Because isn't it always your fault? That's silly, it's fine.

      But...

No, leave it, it's fine. You're fine. Running out of your anti-depressants because of Covid isn't your fault. You're okay. No one is mad at you.

This inner monologue has been my last couple of days. I want it to stop.

If any of this is related to my radio silence this week, it's because @insomniac7809 basically exploded one of his eyeballs (again) and had to have urgent surgery to fix it (again). I've spent the week driving his ass around to doctors and pharmacies while also still trying to work as much of a full work-week as I can, getting back on my own meds that got messed up, and having a minor meltdown because an unmasked delivery driver breathed, like, right on my face.

I am not mad at you. Or anyone. Just....

Bawdy Storytelling is my new favorite thing. I cannot stop laughing.

"Bawdy Storytelling – dubbed 'The Moth for pervs' by the LA Weekly – is the nation’s original sex and storytelling series. Founded, emcee’ed and curated by sexual folklorist Dixie De La Tour, Bawdy Storytelling features real people and rockstars sharing their bona fide sexual exploits. Bawdy Storytelling’s one-of-a-kind approach to sex-positive personal narrative has coaxed liberating tales out of everyday people, creating unforgettable experiences for performers and audiences alike. These stories aren't memorized. Storytellers aren't reading from cue cards. This is honest-to-badness story time with true sexcapades and poignant, hilarious, transformational tales at each and every show."

I had my MBA interview today. That meant I had to put on a blazer and makeup for the first time in two months. And wore a bra and real pants for several hours.

I was physically uncomfortable and looked all tarted up. And at some point they're going to expect me to go back to doing this shit for 9+ hours a day, every day? Whose fucking idea was this? I do not approve.

Seeeeeee, the joke is that's a scene with Lieutenant Aldo Raine from Inglorious Basterds. As in "One hun'red Nazi scalps!" Aldo Raine, specifically the line where he gets excited that the Nazi they're interrogating is refusing to answer questions and would rather die for his country, so he lets one of his men beat a Nazi to death.

      Get it? Haircuts. Scalps.

Jesus Christ, lady. It's past midnight. I have work in the morning. I have an MBA interview in the afternoon. Listening to your non-stop, ten minute long incoherent screaming rant echo off of several blocks of rowhomes and into all three levels of my house is not something I have time for.

      Shut. the. Fuck. Up.
