I think public groping in a nightclub is fine but at a Starbucks is eyeroll. Idk. I wish I were more surprised that this is a difficult line to draw in the sand.

"Unless this a room that would only be accessible to grown-ass adults, keep it above the waist and over the clothes, thanks."

      There. Done.

Does it cover everything? Well, no, not really. But I think it's general enough to get the idea across in a largely functional and effective way.

@auspice I also graduated as an adult with a full-time work schedule, which feels super weird, though at least had the ability to walk at graduation with one of my fellow "Yeah, we're 30....." classmates.

I recommend taking your next few days that you have off of work and doing literally nothing with them. Like, relish the fact that you have no deadlines looming over your head. Give yourself permission to spend the entire time playing video games in your underpants like an irresponsible teenager if you want to. Or whatever else may be on your personal "I don't have to do anything right now" wishlist.

And then when your diploma comes, put it in the most ostentatious frame you can afford. I still owe $44K on that thing. You bet its framed in the gaudiest gold-colored whatsit I could find.

I feel like, on the day after a holiday, offices should send out an automated email first thing in the morning.

"Everyone else was out, too. You didn't miss anything. Slow your roll, Brenda."

@ganymede I don't do karaoke out of consideration for others. (Seriously, I sound like a bullfrog with a head cold when I sing. It's bad.)

Car karaoke, however, is a totally different story. You bet your ass I'm gonna sing along at top volume to Iggy Pop, L7, and the Dead Milkmen. If you don't like it, get out.

@arkandel Soooooooooo, Aggretsuko is a Sanrio character (yes, as in the company that owns Hello Kitty) announced a few years ago. She is a tiny red panda that works for a financial firm, whose name is a portmanteau of Aggressive Retsuko. So named because she expresses her frustration with her work life and her co-workers by singing rage-fueled death metal karaoke. She was released in 2016, but now has an animated Netflix series that consists of 10 episodes of 15 minute shorts.

As a woman who works as an executive assistant in the marketing department of a massive financial firm with a secret penchant for punk rock, I can relate to this tiny cartoon character and find her super cute.

      @darinelle squuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiints

I have a feeling this either involves some dumbfuck that thinks you can get paid to code MUs in such a way that it is actually financially sustainable (tip: you can make beer money and that's about it) or someone who really should probably get slapped with the "Well, Actually...." song.

Goddammit, friend_07, stop trying to "fix" my issue with advice that doesn't work unless I am

      1. A spoiled goddamn toddler who is willing to make everything about me, and
      2. In possession of a body that isn't broken as fuck.

But thanks for reminding me, on what was starting out to be a cool, chill morning, why I continue to struggle with depression. Good job. Had a great weekend, but that shit's over now.

      "Just stop worrying about it."

......That's not how anxiety works, fucker. Believe me, I would if I could.

@ganymede A hundred white men get convicted of a specific crime and its #NotAllMen.

One black man gets accused too and its #YesAllN*****rs.

93% of the prison population are men.
88% of Darwin award winners are men.
70% of accidental deaths are men.
90% of sexual assaults are committed by men.
Generally speaking we are prone to violence of all sorts and taking crazy risks.
This is not a cultural thing. It's nature.

So's polio, but thanks to innovation and a concerted public effort, we've pretty much stopped that shit in it's tracks.

      Just sayin'.

@arkandel Ahhh, got it. I just saw the thread get necro'd and was making a bit of stankface at it. Mostly just because RL can bite me right now and it's easier to be irritated with some random internet asshole than it is to swear at my air conditioner or my dog's spine.

If it helps, we do delete all posts made by repeat offenders (okay, so we only have that one repeat offender) so they don't litter the place unnecessarily.

This an online peeve/disgruntlement/irk, but it's not pertaining to a game, so I'mma post it here.....

As @insomniac7809 said, yeah. Yeah. Our AC is broken, and our back door lock is jammed, and the dog is super sick. And after spending more money than we really have and most of the day measuring, carrying, cutting, and loading the lumber and other supplies I need to make him a specialty dog ramp for our inside stairs by myself, a day I should've spent studying but am now spending tired and sweaty and sore.....

I come home to find that Lain is banned. Again. With "Illegal Aryan" as a username this time.

Can that be a thing? Please? I mean, I know we have a report button or whatever, but really, I think this option is a bonus and would make it very slightly less annoying.

      I propose:

Dawn of Defiance -- In the Generations of Darkness Explosion
Generations of Darkness -- MUD Stats

I was also briefly on Fallen World, but I don't remember if that was before or after GoD. I heard about that one in a message from a friend and found it very much not to my tastes re: Mage.

@surreality I suddenly miss my lovable, yet incredibly stupid, fighter-biter of an orange boy cat who passed away very unexpectedly last February.

He had this habit of scratching his chin with his back legs and then freaking out because clearly, some asshole was kicking him in the face. To which he would retaliate by bitin' them toes. And that was inevitably followed by him flying into a full-blown cat panic because some invisible attack monster was trying to eat his feet. Cue the cat running around the house in a panic, yowling all the way to a hiding spot.

Note: I said he had a habit of doing this. As in more than once. As in regularly. It's one of the reasons we were convinced that Something Wasn't Quite Right when it came to our poor Mishka.
