No to offend anyone, but I've never gotten much into WoD.
Anyone who'd get offended because someone else has different tastes than them isn't worth worrying about offending.

Well, KAT is the best player I've seen in years at that age. Anthony Davis' ceiling is around the same but he's got so many health issues. If you guys get lucky tonight the Thiberwolves may become something pretty cool.
Oh, I'll also plan to play on Star Wars: Rogue when it opens... I like the premise.
Tonight is the draft lottery (and that pesky Raptors - Cavs game, natch).
Although I'm not a fan I'd love to see something statistically improbable happen... like, say, the Wolves getting another top pick. They already have a very high upside in the next couple of years but with another great young player on the roster... man.
@TNP You make it sound like it's a superhero game based on the Kushiel books.
... I didn't even realize I wanted that but now I need it.
BITN, although I haven't been active lately, mostly STing.

I don't feel like all game-wide plots staff run have to be saving the world, either. They can sometimes, but I like larger-scale stuff that isn't Mega Destruction, but still reinforces major aspects of the setting, or introduces smaller changes to the status quo.
Two issues I've had with world-saving plots:
They cheapen risk. You can't escalate up, and after the tenth time the damn planet is saved it's not really a global emergency this time, it's just Tuesday.
It's hard to keep it straight when a ST drops off the side of the planet (i.e. it's Wednesday) and the plot is orphaned; no one saved us, so why are we still here?
As for the status quo, changing it through plot is by far - and I mean by very far the hardest thing for a game to implement. Not saying it's not doable or worth it, but although it sounds doable or even obvious the logistics involved make it really hard unless you design the MU* around it.
@thebird I watched the first season and a little bit of the second one... I felt the chemistry between the two stars was excellent, the stories themselves though got really repetitive and predictable - plus the 'man out of time' trope ran its course at some pretty early point for me.
@Kanye-Qwest Now all I need is a spunky sidekick an...< @EmmahSue has banned this user. >
@EmmahSue There's three of you. If you didn't do it, one of them did.
Question... IIRC Jedi/Sith types will be playable - but they don't seem to exist in this time period in canon. How will that work?
@Admiral I used to like BBT... but the last 2-3 seasons have been such shit. It barely gets even a chuckle out of me any more.
Speaking of Sleepy Hollow, does anyone know why Nicole Bahari left the show? It sounds like it's the beginning of the end for it.
Guy at the gym is like a lawyer (ugh) or financial advisor (ughh). He's wearing a headset and is on the phone with clients every single time early in the morning. He's talking to them while he works out.
Sample more or less actual conversation before and after he pumps a few reps: "Yeah, we can always...hey, give me a sec okay? ARGH! ARGH! ARRRRGH! ARGH! ARRRRGH! ... Yeah, so what we should do is..."
I don't know whether to be impressed or facepalm.
@Admiral In fact players like LeBron or Shaq get fewer fouls than they should, because they are such tanks. Refs would openly admit they swallow the whistle on Shaq for instance in his prime because if they didn't he'd either score 50 a game or every opposing big would foul out in the third quarter.

Also, Captain Amercia: Civil War was a bit of a train wreck, too....somehow I think I'm in the minority there.

Hello MSBites! I've a question for you.
So I'm part of some co-ed basketball runs where sometimes girls show up and play. That alone is not an issue but sometimes the level we play is.
For example the feminist thing to do is treat female players like everyone else, yes?
Well, I was driving to the basket yesterday and one of the girls on the other team tried to switch and defend me but hadn't been able to set herself up to take a charge - and thus turn it into an offensive foul. So in that situation you're supposed to take it to the defender, go through and get to the basket for a lay-up. But if I did that... she's like a foot shorter and I probably have 50 pounds on her. She's gonna go down hard. With a guy it's not even an issue, I'd have dropped them without a second thought (it's not like they're going to get hurt, it's a hardwood floor, we're not talking elbows in the face here and after all they have to choose to try and get in front of someone on a fast break), but a girl? That sounds ... wrong? I guess?
And it feels super awkward to ask people I don't even know that well. "Hey, is it okay if I knock you on your ass sometimes? Only if the situation calls for it!"
What's the appropriate response?

@Ghost I haven't played a SW game... well, ever, but I'd be willing to give one a chance. Let's see how it goes.
@secretfire A lot of grimdark fantasy the last few years has no magic-using characters at all, they are only antagonists or quest-giver types.
It's also a fact a lot of fantasy systems are very unbalanced in favor of spellcasters so maybe games are trying to get away from that trope?
@Ghost Yeah, I think between "we focus on FCs and everyone else is their support cast" and "Jedi/Sith are special so YOU can't play one" the Star Wars genre has been unable to get where it could be for years.
It could still be bad if staff-played NPC FCs are the focus of every story but it doesn't seem like that's what staff intends in this case, which is good.
