I jumped the gun a bit. Forum upgraded to version 1.13.0. I restarted the server for some system upgrades as well.
As usual please let me know if anything broke terribly.

You know, I've been thinking about it - not that this incident is unique or this particular guy is anything special among all the other idiots who plague the hobby.
I decided there are two things that bug me.
How little this kind of person thinks of others. He wasn't offering any tangible benefits, money, anything at all... he really hoped to buy someone's basic dignity - OOC, not IC - for some kind of IC favor on a game they had barely even played and had zero investment in. In other words, for nothing.
How little he thinks of himself. He wasn't standing to gain anything either; it's just over TS, which is the cheapest commodity in all of MU*'dom and it's literally handed out for nothing in any ol' game. Sure, there's some kind of OOC thrill somewhere in there but damn. His own soul sure got priced super low in that bargain.
Meh.
@Kestrel Look at the bright side. Now you know your neighbor is a nutjob and it cost you nearly nothing to find out. You could have paid a much steeper price.
What if a Spider-man player didn't play an NPC out but 'just' played them being around? Is that also an offense?
"Sorry Gwen, I'd come hang out tonight but Jonah insisted I try to take some photographs of that new Egyptian exhibit again"

I think you should prepare for a huge influx and rush at the beginning, and then just do the best you can to choke down drinking from the firehose until a good number of people will wander away in the first few months, and then you'll know what your base size is more realistically. This surge can be a real gamekiller/burnout machine if you are not mentally prepared for how you will deal.
Because I do absolutely believe you will have a huge rush at the beginning at the very least!
The surge can also backfire if it causes delays if not enough of CGen is automated. A game's own popularity can kill it if a bunch of players are having to wait too long to be approved and give up.
I'll be performing an upgrade to nodeBB version 1.13.0 on Friday Dec 06 2019 around 22:00 EST. A downtime of a few minutes is expected.
I yell at my team when they come to work sick. Sure, I love them spreading the love so that instead of that one person being unable to function in a couple of days I'm down several more.
@JinShei Do you want your slippers chewed up? Because that's how you get your slippers chewed up.
@Rucket To be honest I don't think I've found RP just wandering around the grid in a very long time.
For the most part my scenes (okay FINE... my scenes when I actually have some) are either the product of stalking +where and paging people if it's okay to drop in, arrangements made over channels, or of course scheduled PrPs.
It used to be that I went to 'nexus' type rooms to look for scenes but the quality varied so much I often cursed myself for doing it, so I stopped.
TL;DR: I don't mind Ares' way of constructing scenes.
@Ghost That's basically every single CW show. About 70% of the plot would be gone if only people with every reason to talk to each other spoke to each other.
@Alamias It's probably easier to catch based on the game. A concept that might fit a nWoD MUSH could be really out of place on a superhero or a Harry Potter one.
I wouldn't wanna fight Carano, Frankie Adams, or Ronda Rousey
Nor would that fight last long.

Second, if you come to me as a third party in the matter, my very first question is going to be did the other person say something to you? Because I truly don't believe it's not your place to police them, either.
Yes and no.
There is more nuance to being staff than wielding a rulebook in one hand and the banhammer in the other. Sometimes it can be as easy as paging someone with a simple "hey, it came to my attention Bob has been flirting with your character pretty heavily. I'm just checking if that's okay with you".
That's it. There's no reason to pull people aside or bring out the big guns. Policing doesn't need to be heavy handed 100% of the time.
Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I feel the issue with creeps is very rarely that they get away with things during public scenes focused on aggressive flirting.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it's likely much more common that people don't get help when they ask staff for it ("can you produce logs and evidence this happened?", "can you point out the exact thing said that grossed you out and why?", etc which results in the onus being on them) or when they get the OOC page equivalent of dick-pics than someone hitting on a character in plain sight, no matter how awkward it might be.
@Lotherio I think it's the best kind of mix between Star Wars and Firefly. Or it could become just that, which would be amazing.
@mietze I've been obese - for my entire childhood and much of my adult life. I know how it feels.
I did not mean to dismiss anyone. I apologize. Counting macros worked very well for me, and it has for others. But I should not offer unsolicited advice, so I shut up when prompted to do so.

Emphasis mine.
