      And that dual-input, right? That's the main reason I'm bit-chomping. I've been missing my Potato dual-input soooooo bad.

      @Sparks

      I'll keep an eye on it.

      And sorta along @Thenomain's thinking... I'd be happy to help beta test.

      Updated. Trying a Werewolf over on Reno.

      Also moved Threads of Pern back to the active list since it's picked up and Search is actually happening soon.

      More characters than I've had in a long time. Dunno if I'll be able to keep it all up. ;.;

      I've got a bit of 'frayed nerves' going on from being in week 2 of migraines.

      The cat is being very 'nurse cat' today. Lots of snuggles. Insisting on being near me. And the ❤ comes in that even though I've been short with her, she's persisted.

      Kinda sucks for those people, but I get the decision. Plus, TBH, is there even really enough 'here's what werewolves, vampires and warlocks' do in the books? I'm on book 4 and very little has been provided of what they do on the day to day, except when they're shoulders-deep in Shadowhunter business.

      Pretty much. You'd have to be willing to go off-book / off-show. In the books/show, the downworlders only really get involved because of Clary anyway (Luke and Simon).

      Warlocks are probably the easiest to tie in, since Shadowhunters often hire their services.

      @TNP said in Shadowhunters MUSH:

      Just as an FYI, staff has permanently closed all Downworlders as player characters. Only Shadowhunters and mundanes are now appable.

      I understand how this is easier on staff but honestly, it makes the game a lot less interesting and attractive now.

      There's been some major stuff RL Staff-side and I think it was this or close the game... Which no one wants. They had to narrow the focus.

      The other issue is I know they were always open about the fact that the metaplot would be largely focused on the Shadowhunters. And that while they'd provide some things for downworlders, they couldn't guarantee a lot. This warning was issued, AFAIK, to everyone who made a downworlder PC as their primary character. I was even asked to impress it upon a couple friends who were making non-SH characters.

      So it wasn't 'You get nothing.' It was 'Just so you know, we'll run things, we'll try to provide some plot, but the focus is on the Shadowhunter sphere.' Which, hey, good job being honest up front.

      Unfortunately, a fair number of people, despite claiming they understood... began bitching to each other, to Staff, on channels, etc., about the lack of plot for their sphere (mind you, game is in beta, and this past week was the first scene tying to metaplot). I know it was stressing Uriel out. So... spheres closed.

      It makes me sad, but I get it. I'm going to keep playing my Werewolf PC and once PRPs are open (I know they're still hammering out kinks in code), I'll run stuff for other wolves.

      But then you have awesome stuff like this heavy metal cover of Boombastic, which is amazing.

      Woah, woah.
      I need this.
      Who did the cover?

      Forever Never in their album "I Can't Believe It's Not Metal".

      Thank you!

      So I discovered today...

      Events set to a specific character do not work. In this case, it was just a timer made to send '@@' every 1800 seconds. Did not work on the character definition, but did for the world.

      Is this expected behavior?

      Both Blu and I play on Fires of Hope, and Blu is indeed wiki-staff, but that is her only role on Staff (and she only has a Staffbit so that she can get +requests regarding the wiki), and I have no role at all on Staff.

      I do know she's also been helping with the grid? At least based on things she herself has said.

      But still, that doesn't mean anything in the realm of plot crafting/dominance. I just want to mention it since, well, you sometimes get people on these here forums who would find out and go 'omg why didn't you mention this what else are you hiding?!'

      It's not an easy thing to balance.

      Most of us want to play a Jedi because of reasons @Arkandel stated. In my case... 18+ years MU*ing and I've never gotten the opportunity. While making it a vote by playerbase does still have favoritism, it at least increases my odds because on past SW games, I've never been close enough to Staff to be chosen.

      But I also don't want a game that's All Jedi All the Time (unless it's like, a specific Jedi Academy game which now that I think about it could be pretty awesome).

      I'm totally happy with my spy/pilot on FoH. I'll keep playing her even if I get to play a Force Sensitive alt. I think that's the main worry a lot of places have: if we don't limit things somehow, we'll have a game of FUs and nothing else.

      And then on top of that it looks like you are /completely/ neutering the FUs you do allow, mechanically speaking.

      SAGA does a good job on making Force Users mechanically gimped as is too. Let's not forget that. Force people into starting at Level 1, and, believe me, you should have few Force Users when folks start seeing how easy they can be capped by a Soldier.

      As a note (as it's not in the original post): Everyone starts at level 4. 🙂

      Oh, to play a Salubri. It'd be the one thing that'd get me to try Vampire again.

      The discussion right now that Hssiss is considering is for Staff to craft Force Users who can be used for story arcs.

      And then to open up being force sensitive for any new CGs (where they could then gain more abilities over time through story/XP).

      Witchcraft and Wizardry made FS3's 'Cookies' their way to buy things. So the more cookies you got, the more you got to 'buy'. Like... non-standard familiars, being able to become an animagus, etc.

      Does this game have the super detailed code system that every other SAGA seems to have?

      IE all the info files on feats and what not, and the +map system?

      I dunno about map system, but! It has the super detailed +sinfo files. Dahan's on board for codeage.

      @mietze Personally? I'd make 'logs on wiki' as a big part of it, if I were designing it. Like can we look at the wiki and see that you're getting out there and contributing among a variety of people? Ok!

      @lordbelh

      Y'know, this makes me think of maybe a system where... activity could earn you the slot. Like, be an active/contributing player (not just a vote-whore, tho most games limit you anyway these days to only vote/nom someone once n a week) and you can be a Force User.

      Lower bar, but rewards people for being involved, not just popular, and could also help in keeping an active non-FU populace.

      (Me, I really just want a Miraluka who is properly force sensitive vs. just 'sees in the Force' so the restrictions don't bother me)
