My comfort food is always salad. I'm super weird. The crunch of veggies and the bite of balsamic make things better.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Bloodstained is the Castlevania game we all didn't know we needed. It's really good, controls are snappy, lots of options, good voice acting, pretty art, and MICHIRU YAMANE COMPOSED THE MUSIC.

RE: [Original Supernatural/Vampire MUSH] Houses of the Blood MUSH
Glad that I picked up on digitalocean. Current host for the wiki has flaked out and, somehow, when they did an upgrade , somehow broke PHP dependencies for mediawiki it looks like.
Wiki is in the process of transitioning (yay backups), but writing process is going slow.
Chargen is more or less done, I just have to rejigger a couple of things from the changeover from the WoD LARP version to the custom system for HotB.
Pre-built lists of powers are... well... they are what they are. I haven't completed them.
I'm really thinking about just finishing up the rest of the files for history and everything, finish up the XP system (I just need to figure out how to paginate the thing), and then go, and not worry about the auto-combat, and just have a +check system in place, and let people free form their powers based on the levels.
I'm going. It just... is what it is. Ugh.

Do we need a group of PC assassins?@Wolfs
I think it's been pretty well-established in the thread that the plan/goal isn't another Year One place. -
RE: Good or New Movies Review
We finally watched Baby Driver. HOLY SHIT. The soundtrack, the cueing to the soundtrack, the stunt driving. All of that was boss.
We finally watched the new Mummy. I wasn't floored but I was pleased with it.

RE: Fringe/Weird RPGs
- Undying: A PBtA hack, modern Vampires, with an odd 'bidding' mechanic for blood and narrative escalation.
- MECHA: Just what it says on the tin, a rules-light and quick to get started mecha game. Seems like it could run anything from Gundam to Robotech/Macross to Voltron (via the Combiners book). I've thought about using it for Gundam Build Fighters pastiche IRL.
- Meikyuu Kingdom: Translates as Labyrinth Kingdom, but the wordplay is Make You Kingdom. It's a dungeon crawler where you recover pieces of your kingdom in the style of FF My Life As A King, complete with adorable dungeon planning with stuff like 'when you take lunch' and a bunch of classes. Fan translation for now.
- Maid RPG: Random creation maids who serve a master, it's slapstick as hell and real crazy.
- Kobolds At My Baby!: Weird RPG about playing a group of Kobolds, lots of randomness and funny stuff as you die. A lot.

RE: Dies Irae: Paid Positions for Coder
As someone who is SUPER interested in V5, I'm going to posit a couple of questions...
-
What is 'different' about this XP expenditure system, particularly since we don't know how XP is going to work (unless you have one of the NDA-locked playtest kits?)
-
What will be point of the Stock Market system be? How much do you see players using it to justify the work put into it?

RE: The Music Tastes Thread!!!
LOL. I don't even watch the videos half the time.
Skinny Puppy and Combichrist I had heard before, I like Stromkern and I think Suicide Commando was on one of the mixes I've got. I like the Boy Harsher one you posted; going to look more into that one.
VNV Nation has been one I've listened to for a while too. I tend to swing between that style of EBM synthpop and 90s/early 2000s house and club techno. Stuff like https://youtu.be/JjTV8i_KjXM or https://youtu.be/TxvpctgU_s8.
Re: that goth channel
Oh, damn. I needed that to go into my list. Also, some older gothrock stuff I love?
Nosferatu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5O_SeIbgHM is a particular favorite. -

RE: X-Men Game
I think honestly if the game allows primarily non-X characters, it gets into a slippery slope of theme dilution. I mean, Laura has been in the Avengers Academy, but I wouldn't want Reptil or Hazmat or Cloud-9 to be appable. I think, once the 'storyline' is defined, it'll help. Because it really needs to be a storyline that supports mutants and mutant-specific play. A lot of the 'story' itself though, comes from the Utopia setting itself, being a 'haven for all mutants' and the particulars that creates.
I mean, in canon, HAMMER used their fight with the X-men in SanFran prior to Utopia's founding as a 'win against the muties' press op, for example.

RE: RL things I love
I love the people who run the Werewolf the Apocalypse LARP in town. It's small (but hopefully growing), but hella fun. I feel like it helped that 1. the staff come from a boffer LARP background so designing WtA stuff isn't super foreign to them, and 2. they played for nearly the entirety of the Masquerade LARP I ran, so they also understand the differences between a boffer LARP and a WoD LARP. I am loving my Shadow Lord Philodox Homid, who is a mid-50s corporate lawyer who changed way late.
ETA: Honestly, I love the politics and backstabby and stuff of vampire... but I kinda feel like the 'us against the crashing tide' angle of Werewolf is refreshing, and that the politicking that happens (for rank, for positions, etc.) is interesting because of the things that you DON'T do in Werewolf that you do in Vampire.

@collective
I think FASERIP got mentioned and there was more push for MHRPG (the Cortex one), which has a similar modeling ability as well. -
RE: RL things I love
Getting back into old, fun hobbies.
Friends of mine got me to come out and play casual MtG last weekend. It was a blast.
Also, Marvel, you will forever redeem yourself if THIS REMAINS A PERMANENT THING AFTER SECRET WARS.

RE: Zero to Mux (with wiki)
This is a great guide, and I will second the recommendation of namecheap.com. My domains are hosted through them and I have had zero problems out of them.

RE: Theatre of Shadows MUSH - OWoD MUSH Seeks Developers/Staff
Thanks. I have put a lot of theory and thought into this and I hope that I can get it running (even if it's just me myself and I for the moment).
I am probably going to regret this, but... aw, hell. Why not.
I have our wiki up. It doesn't have a link to the live game at the moment, but I figured you could tool around the game's (incomplete) wiki.
I'd love to hear your opinions and thoughts; not everything is completed, but there's a lot of info there currently.

RE: Character Information: Wiki or Mu*?
@pandora @Apos
I don't think I've ever played on a game that had clothing objects. Multidescers, sure. And I also like using look (it's an ingrained trait from many years of pre-wiki games where things like that mattered). I kinda almost got turned off on it by the last WoD game I tried to play and the massive wall of text that didn't tell me anything. I'm for descs and looking, sure, but there comes a point when there's a culture thing. And that is something that doesn't seem like it'll change. And so referencing SOME things on wikis (I'm shit at describing cuts of clothing, for example) makes life a lot simpler.
