@surreality
Nape of the neck, very small? That place shouldn't change much, maybe? A friend of mine just got a combo Anarch/Brujah one done on her forearm. Looks nice, but way big for me.

RE: RL things I love
@Catsmeow
You can buy some of them at bynightstudios.com, which has the rights to the LARP rules. The ones I want have been out of stock FOREVER though, so I lucked out and found a lot auction of the vintage ones from the 90s/2000s and got it.Here are some of the ones I currently have.
Those are my NWoD ones (I can't find my Nosferatu clan pin though, I was annoyed as hell). Gangrel, Ventrue, Daeva, Ordo, Invictus and Sanctified.
And my OWoD ones. Setite, Gangrel, Toreador and Camarilla. The lot I won has the old versions, but I got 2 Brujah ones, a Gangrel, a Ventrue, a Giovanni, an original stylized-L Lasombra one, Assamite, Salubri and Baali. I'll post pics when I get them next week.
ETA: What I really want is this. But I can't justify $100, and it's not my size.

RE: Non-Level Specific Games
In my history, most Transformers games were like that too. You had a max potential you started out with when you built, and that was that.

RE: RL things I love
Finding an auction for things you want (in this case, WW LARP clan pins) that doesn't go insanely high AND it you are able to snipe it and get it for a good deal. 9 pins for $50, and I'll make back $15 on selling a set of duplicates...

RE: What do you WANT to play most?
@Jennkryst
I think that's literally the ONLY time the why comes up, except for Animatrix and the Second Renaissance section. -
WW released Dark Pack guidelines
Not that it super-matters, but...

New Dark Pack guidelines. I think it's funny they reference MU*s in particular.

RE: PC antagonism done right
@Arkandel
Yeah, that's the thing. Finding something that works. I come from a MU* history and game history where failure is just... part of the story. It may close one road, but other roads open and spread out from it. -
RE: PC antagonism done right
@Ganymede
Yeah, but are there options to incentive failure other than MOAR DOTS?! -
RE: PC antagonism done right
I think the person who talked about people not being able, or willing, to 'lose' when faced with an opposition or antagonist is one of the core problems. Especially when it's not a factionalized game. People want to have only the good things, not the bad things.

RE: What do you WANT to play most?
Mortal Kombat
Yeah, but is there enough backstory to it? Still, could be fun.
Matrix
To be pedantic, it was 'human body heat plus fusion = electricity', but yeah. Go back to a draft version of Human Mass Computer and there you go.
Conan
Is it bad that my vision of a Conan MUSH is very much a more adult version of the Conan the Adventurer cartoon?

RE: What do you WANT to play most?
I'd love to see a focused superhero game that doesn't tread old material again.
- I'd love to see a Beyond-era DC-focused game focusing on legacy characters. Focused solely on Earth or a couple of cities connected by a hypertrain and such. Neo-Gotham and Megatropolis, perhaps.
- I'd love to see something based on the new X-Men Movieverse and focus ONLY on X-Men (yes, I know X-factor exists...)
- I'd love to see a school-focused X-Men MUSH not unlike the X-Men Evolution or the early 2000s New X-Men: Academy X books. But that won't happen because of all the teenage boning that'll go on.
- I'd love to see a DCAU JLU MUSH, integrating later aspects of the world like the other Latern Corps and stuff.

RE: RL Anger
Not being able to find a backup site for an event. It's so freaking annoying. And hotels who are like 'Oh, this is $500 for four hours' and I'm like 'WTFOMGBBQ?!?!?!11111one'. Of course, you're an out of the way hotel that doesn't GET a lot of rentals (you even admitted that yourself). AUGH.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Saw Beauty and the Beast.
Was pleased. Not the bestest Disney live-action (that still goes to Cinderella so far), but... was pleased with the outcome! -
RE: Dungeons and Dragons
@Arkandel
LOL. This is true. And hopefully they'll succeed this time. -
RE: Good TV
The 100 continues to make me want to THROTTLE THE WRITERS and yet COME BACK FOR MORE.
Season 4 has been kinda nailbiting.

RE: Dungeons and Dragons
Didn't they try to do this when 4e was out and it failed outright?

RE: Politics etc.
@mietze
RfK also suffered from a massive issue of 'one staffer to rule them all' which I think hindered the political processes. I was Nyarlethotep for a while and I attempted to help do things (mostly jobs to get things going, and ran the wiki organiation/revamp), run things, etc. The massive amount of workload (I logged in one day and had 60+ new jobs; I'd been logged out for 16 hours and there were 60 jobs or updates to jobs...), coupled with a lot of the necessity for Shav to look at things when stuff was starting out, or code tied to various systems not working because of (insert reasons here), also hurt RfK2.0. So there was a lot of stop and go with the process as well.I wasn't aware of the CoI protections, and am idly curious what you mean in that regard (PMs are good) though.

Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. And then the murders began.

RE: Politics etc.
@Gingerlily
It could be adapted without fuss, though it's more for a highly social game that requires methods for enforcing social station and arrangements of favors. A lot of it is about deference to higher social station and holding up your end of promises ICly; if you've played a Lords and Ladies game, or read stuff like ASoIaF or watched GoT, you'll have an idea how it works. Things like status in the setting are often tied to positions and so, a queen says 'do this thing!' and generally people should do it in deference to their position.Or boons, which are just a codified methodology of favors, which can be called in to get things done. There are ups and downs to boons, but generally boons are 'currency' to vampires, and not honoring a boon you offered (and it doesn't have to be decided up front, you offer a 'minor boon' and there are things that are socially acceptable as things you can call a minor boon in for).
