Going out to do a day with a good friend of mine who is getting married come December, and she is up for helping me do this 'ring shopping' thing for my partner as well. And then finding more or less the perfect ring type in the second store we come across (reminiscent of my dad's long-ago stolen wedding ring), without it requiring me to sell a kidney.

RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
I'd be interested to bounce ideas, but I can't make heavy dedications due to trying to shore up my own game as well.

RE: Desc Help?
I have realized I'm a shitty 'modern descer' insofar as detailing type of clothing (the aforementioned princess seams, etc.) Too many years of futuristic descriptions or robots (and so don't wear clothing). So I go for a very direct and specific description approach, like...
He is currently wearing charcoal gray pants that match his vest, in an athletic cut, with a good break on top of his pointed-toe, shiny black leather shoes.
Getting to flowery just makes me go 'huh?' But the sstraighrtforward desc, at least you have an A, B and C about what's going on.

@Arkandel
I'll keep that in mind. Plus the main male character is easy on the eyes, which helps as well. -
RE: Good TV
I started watching Bitten on Netflix. It's not a terrible werewolf show by any means, so far (I'm 3 eps in), for being based on a werewolf set of YA books like the Vampire Diaries. Laura Vandervoort does pretty damn good in this, she has much better direction than the LAST thing I saw her in, Smallville.

I dunno, as another person who feels the same way, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the similiarities and differences. Of course, if people are going to end up crazy with it, you could totally PM me. -

This is on my list. I need to finish Continuum and Walking Dead, but it's on my list.I think I was sold on the 'oh shit I'm being beaten up, let's the badass Asian lady kickboxer take over the body and beatdown my attackers' preview.

RE: Fuck WoD - Trinity Continuum is real
All this talk makes me want it. I really enjoyed the Scion game that we played (less due to rules than to plot, story and concept behind Scion as a whole), and this sounds like it will fix a lot of the issues we ended up having with the Scion system (I'm looking at you, Untouchable Opponent).
Looks like OPP will be getting more of my hard-earned monies.

Oracle. PFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Oh man. My job uses Oracle for their system. I work for a multi-billion dollar company, including all lines of busienss. They are using a version of Oracle that requires IE8 and IE9 to run, and we have to keep some outdated version of Java to make it run.And even then, there are just random problems.errors that people have, even using 'best practices' for the programs.
It's hilarous.

Yeah. McAfee is kindof insane. WHen I got my new laptop it was the default antivirus, and it wouldn't let me use Chrome or Firefox to connect to the internet due to 'threats to my computer'. -

We are leaving some room for Embraces once our code can better support them, which shouldn't be long.
Poor Theno. On the bright side, the Embrace should be one of the easiest things. Pick a Clan, set BP 1, do favored attr, assign Disciplines that are not already bought with XP by the ghoul, and be done.

RE: Steam Buddies?
I wish I could find something I like on steam. I'm at a loss for anything I want to buy. Everything I wanted I already bought, or have been gifted by other people.

@Ganymede
I can't +1 your post enough. I feel like this is why my partner and I have such a successful relationship (our 14th anniversary is next month.) We have interests and things we do together, and we have separate interests and things we do separately (he's not a gamer, so my gaming stuff is something I do separately, AND we can be doing homebody stuff while I'm MU*ing). And it works.Peeve: People at work who continue to violate work policies with shit like cellphones and facebook, and don't really give two shits, and seem to have less 'hey, you're working, right?' stuff pointed at them than people who are actively working their asses off.

And that's where I'm torn. I would like to keep the baseline method for feeding and herd for the MUSH, I'm just not sure exactly what to do that's a good fit for MUSH (it's one of the few LARP rules that doesn't translate greatly)Still pondering, but we shall see.

RE: Anomaly Jobs: +myjob/cc
Honestly, I'd just like it to be simpler. Looking at the jhelp, I know it's not insanely complex from the end-user standpoint, but I still find myself fumbling over things.
I think this is part of why I, with a couple of exceptions like Myrddin's code, tend to write everything from scratch or adapt code I'd already written. I found an entirely serviceable version of the places code, but found it to be weirdly finnicky and so I rewrote it from the ground up. Of course, when I write stuff I write it to be a little simpler than a lot of what you'd find out there (I tend to find creeping fneeps an annoyance), and I tend to make heavy use of new features for Penn (much love for attribute trees and self-defined registers).
