@Cobaltasaurus He might not have but Zoe couldn't resist them and it damn near got her killed (and then, later on, another one kept her from actually dying, ha!). I loved that card deck.

RE: Cary's Playlist
@Ganymede No promises but I'll see where I am after this little break.
@Cobaltasaurus I was yes! Many many years ago. "Say True!" Sabine was my first Changeling character ever and it showed. Oh how it showed.

RE: Cary's Playlist
Updated, not presently playing anywhere atm. It might be time for a hiatus to rebuild some tolerance to the usual MUSH nonsense.

RE: RL Anger
@Cupcake Rescue folks very often veer into snobbery in regards to the animals. I've been considering getting a dog, I have a background of training therapy animals for outreach programs, and twenty-five years of happy pet ownership under my belt. Several of the rescues in the area that I've contacted will not adopt to me because I have a young teenager who's never had a dog, because I live in an apartment instead of a house with a fenced yard, and because I am not home all day since I have to work.
Then they go to Facebook and complain they can't find anyone "suitable" to adopt the dogs they're fostering, and blame the general public for wanting to support puppy mills and backyard breeders.

RE: Is there a niche for Urban Fantasy that isn't WoD or FC-based?
I would absolutely check this out too. Urban Fantasy with an original spin is my jam. War for the Oaks by Emma Bull is one of my favourite books (though it doesn't fall within the category of supernatural out of the closet).

RE: MU and Alternate Channels
Personally, I don't care where the log comes from but if I am handed evidence that one player heaped abuse on another that included wishing them dead, no matter the source, then that player is not a good fit for my game and would be gone. They would not be invited back because of the message it sends, not just to the population of the game, but to the abuser. You draw your line, you communicate your line clearly to your players, and then by god you hold that line.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@buttercup Log everything, and when you do find something actionable, submit it. I've submitted one complaint about him so far, involving his alt plagiarizing/copying my character's crafting works, and then harassing me to let him continue to do so (reworking my work in his style so it would match his bookshelves :P) when I caught him at it and told him to knock it off. Eventually staff is going to have to see the pattern instead of counting each individual incident of bad behaviour as an individual incident.

MUSH/MUX List has a decent list too: http://www.mushcode.com/MushList

@Tinuviel I beg your pardon, I am certain you meant "Cary is the shit".

RE: Cary's Playlist
Updated my character list because I found out tonight some Arx players were under the impression I was playing both Dawn and Lark at the same time.
I never played Lark. Lark's player is lovely and took on a lot of crap after I bowed out of Dawn to take a break from the game. A lot more crap than she deserved.

RE: MU Things I Love
@Ganymede That was the sweetest thing to wake up to. Thank you.
You are a great person to RP with and your characters are invariably interesting on a molecular level. If someone like you thinks I'm wise, then I will never stop trying to be so.
I always come back for the people too. Without the people, there'd be no click and rush of creative fire, when you hit on a collaboration that really, really works. When I think back to my favorite characters, I almost always am thinking about their relationships, the ones that were so damn good (or bad but good!) and the people who made that happen behind the screen.
I keep saying, if it weren't for the people around here, I'd have been a novelist decades ago.

@lordbelh Logging in this morning was massively depressing. You're missed.

@Arkandel Go visit with Victus. He's a huge potty mouth and will make you feel better about swearing ICly.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
The proudest I've been on Arx was when I finished writing and building and enacting the working Crown government. It was designed specifically to support both delegation and RP-creation with a wide spectrum of characters and @orgs, while also being something people could take and spin into their own brain-baby. I've never written a government from the ground up but I'm happy with this one.
But it was definitely not written with the thought of one person ruling them all because that'd be fucking impossible. Exhausting, too.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Dude. You just said you admitted to being a dick. You recognized you were being a dick. You have owned up to your dickishness. And yet, in her own advertisement thread, @Kanye-Qwest is not allowed to call you out on being a dick, in direct response to the dickery that you have confessed to?
C'mon. That's not cool.
Also? Arx is a fine game designed by a fine team, one of whom happens to have a vagina instead of a penis. WTF does being a man have anything to do with the design of the game?

@Sparks If you play who I think you play, your efforts to spread the love have been successful and very appreciated!

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Three-Eyed-Crow There isn't anything that requires daily check ins, or even weekly. Tasks are opt-in, investigations are opt-in. 99% of the RP I get (and I get a lot of RP in spite of beta not starting for another two weeks) has nothing at all to do with tasks.
I play a faction head and get my own resources (which I then put in my faction's accounts) by offering support to other people's tasks. I haven't run my own +task in weeks.
They have changed a lot since @Tempest was active. The game is not what it was several months ago. Several months from now, after the revisions of beta, it will probably be changed too. There are a lot of things still in adjustment mode, so I would recommend going in with the understanding that it's like moving into an unfinished apartment, work is still going on all around you and staff is being generous to allow people to RP while that work is being done.
But it is a fun atmosphere, and a better group of helpful, enthusiastic, creative players I haven't encountered in many, many years.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Roz and Leo's player have decided they're best friends/deadly nemeses. Roz is teasing. Or trying to lure Leo's player out into the open because there are a hundred crossbows trained on this thread.
