So I have caught up on the latest and greatest in X-Men. House of X and Hellfire Gala are amazing. I'd love to see a game based on this current setting. Anyone down to build it? I have code if you need it for a superhero game.

RE: Idling all day on MU*s
@lotherio I think it's a problem when there's more idling than RPing. The main question is how to get people to RP instead of just idling.

Idling all day on MU*s
Is it just me or do more people spend all their time idling in the OOC room or quiet room than actually going out to RP?
What's the point of even logging in if you're just idle? How would a MU* try to change this? How can we as players try to change this?
Thoughts?

RE: Searching For A Game
@wizz The sphere pages have a LOT of info about the ongoing metaplot. Right now, it's in soft open/beta. People are RPing, getting approved, but so far no XP expenditures (though you do get XP to test the XP system), no plots, until they officially open. Check your dm.

RE: Searching For A Game
@redjellybean City of Hope is terrible. There's a 20th anniversary game, Liberation, which has all the 20th splats (Mage, Wraith, Vampire, Changeling, Garou, Changing Breed). Lemme know if you're interested and I'll DM you the addy.

RE: Brainstorming oWoD Games
@greenflashlight I don't know the other splats, so I wouldn't run it. However, there is room in my ideas for other splats since I have crazy things happening to them alongside the mages. I'd just want someone more knowledgeable than me to sanity check it. Make sense?

Brainstorming oWoD Games
I'm thinking of putting together a 20th Anniversary game. I want to do something different. I'm thinking potentially a multicity type grid where the game is mostly ST. While PRPs will be available, they will definitely have an outcome on the game. I'm tired of sandboxes.
Right now, the two main story possibilities are:
- The Pure Ones existed and are responsible for Avatar lineages (related Avatars that tend to have the same manifestation, and paradigm), Archmasters and Masters are relatively common, the Marauders and Nephandi are rare, Nodes are rare and other means are used to gather Quintessence, reality zones are potent, the Traditions do not cooperate but are internally organized, the Technocracy is shattered after a Nephandic purge, and users of linear magic are rare.
In this world, the avatars of the First Cabal/Council of NIne came back forgetting their previous lives but still have access to their powers. They broke the world, and the globe is now discrete districts focused on different magickal practices. It's a new High Mythic Age where the Traditions effectively won the masses and the Technocracy is the underdog.
- A world where things were fine until recently. Something happened (still to be decided the details) and now, the hunt for reality deviants is on strong, Marauder and the Nephandi are common, hedge mages don’t work much with their Awakened counterparts, Nodes are contested and the Traditions are largely in disarray.
In this world, it's chaos. Not exactly post apocalyptic but chaos. The Technocracy and Traditions are in a huge fight trying to cover up all the crazy Marauders trying to bork with the reality while Nephandi are trying to make everything descend.
As you can see, I wanted something totally different from City by Night settings where people just wait in coffee shops looking for something to do until they find their regular TS partner Would love thoughts as I continue to brainstorm.
Thanks!

RE: Are there any high fantasy MU*s?
@lotherio I wouldn't want the super special snowflake of the Sigil Bearer. I'd just want a world with guilds, different creatures and lots of magical intrigue/combat/adventures.

RE: Are there any high fantasy MU*s?
@lotherio I'd love a game set in an alternate Mythical Era. If any of you have read Mystic by Crossgen Comics, that world would be amazing as a MU*. Lots of diff magical guilds, guild rivalry, different creatures and races, and the occasional godling or two.
I think it could be done with Ars Magica. Anyone have code for that?

Are there any high fantasy MU*s?
Are there any active high fantasy MU*s? Nothing D&D, but more like just an interesting setting where one can play wizards, knights, etc.
If not, I might build one. I've been inspired by playing MTG a bunch lately.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
I'd love to do something based on Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, where the setting is based on this post-apocalyptic book. The characters get sponsored by various myths then have to survive hellish scenarios for the entertainment of the gods/spirits/etc.
Scion could probably do it, it would just need to be heavily staffed by storytellers who would serve as the dokkaebi of the various survival scenarios.
If you haven't read it before, it's now in manhwa form.

OWoD MUX/MUSH code?
Anyone know where one can find OWoD code that can be adapted to the 20th anniversary stuff? My Googlefu isn't turning up the best nor can I find MIAM anywhere.

RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
You can find it on The Trove. Or oyu can just dm me for the book.

Richard, Aerie, and other Technocrats from COH
I was Sae. I miss y'all. Would love to play again somewhere. HMU if you wanna play.

RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@icanbeyourmuse If we're adding more splats, I'm looking for voluneers to help storytell those splats. I know NOTHING about those other splats and how to incorporate those themes in a greater Contagion Chronicle.
Any volunteers?

RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@warma-sheen So should I just keep it mage only for now and just add the Contagion book as another source book? Or should I introduce another splat?
-
RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@pacha Ahhh yes, the appearance of the five new towers.
The original metaplot of Golden Road was always Contagion-esque. The new towers come from another reality colliding with ours which is what led to their appearance. They're the towers of a different reality so magic was borking up.
I always planned on going in the Contagion Chronicles direction so more contagion/plagues that start breaking the world will continue to happen as per plot. The characters will either want to fix it (The Sworn) or make them happen more (The False).
The main school was a secret HQ for the Sworn. The faculty members were of different factions and basically trying to get students to stop the Contagion, etc, etc.
Now the cat's out of the bag, that's the premise of the plot. Sorry for burying the lede.

RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@ganymede The world is already built, just gotta tell the stories. In other words, I just gotta break the rules and make crazy shit happen for people to react to. The Contagion Chronicles book establishes all the world building in terms of the factions, etc
-
RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@ganymede Contagion Chronicles is multi-splat settings for the Chronicles of Darkness.
The premise is as follows:
Different realities interact with one another. When that happens, a contagion starts to happen changing the rules (of the game or the just fundamental physics of the world) in ways that the characters have to figure out wtf is going on. There are two factions: The Sworn (people against the Contagion) and the False (people who are for the Contagion). They all have their own reasons for working together in these factions made of different splats.I think it's an interesting premise for a multisplat game where there's no real antagonist or protagonist from a good/bad point of view. It's just a matter of is that contagion in this reality good or bad for your group in general?
Does that make sense? I hope I didn't ramble too much.

RE: Golden Road Pivoting to Contagion Chronicles
@jennkryst Just a reminder, this is 2E. So is there even other shifters in 2E?
