You're just giddy because you can beat me this week at the fitbit PvP ladders.

      Nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdz.

Do you remember that one time you got upset when I beat you at Armarillo and I made what I said in response to you into my .sig? Good times. Good times. Loser.

You didn't just win by default, you won with two other people holding me back!

@Coin beat me at M:tG once playing a tier 1 deck against my tier 2. And he enjoyed it. What. A. Lamer.

How could I enjoy something so brief and uneventful? All you did was play cards and then put them back in your hand. 😞

I clearly need to watch this.

As long as you don't mind low production values. They didn't have a lot of money and the plots are very, very pulp-tastic. If you can watch it tongue-in-cheek, you'll enjoy it.

I want to see something akin to World of Darkness.

However, tell the magic to piss off and die - I would really like to see fully thought out organic, biological vampires and lycanthropes vs humanity. Much like as seen in American Vampire books.

      So like Sanctuary?

What is this Sanctuary you speak of?

Sanctuary was a low-budget ultra green-screen sci-fi show with Amanda Tapping.

How jaded we have become that anything related to source material must be either a sequel or a remake. There were a number of "Dirty Harry" movies, none of them were sequels. Hell, I don't see the Indiana Jones movies as being sequels, either, just another story starring our whip-happy archeologist.

      Bah. Kids these days.

Those are all sequels; in fact, they need not even have the same actor (or even character) to be sequels.

      sequel

      1. a published, broadcast, or recorded work that continues the story or develops the theme of an earlier one.
      2. something that takes place after or as a result of an earlier event.

I just think people give "sequel" negative connotations that the word doesn't deserve.

      Eh.

I prefer that series end when they are meant to and when the creators want them to and feel they can end them.

Otherwise you end up with the back 6 seasons of Supernatural, for example, instead of the nicely wrapped 5 seasons of Breaking Bad and Justified.

Though it is a matter of taste the quoted section annoys the hell out of me on a TV show where I have professional grade entertainment around it. On a mush a pose like, not the exact content but the wink wink nudge nudge thing would get me to log out never to return pretty quick.

      Man, that's some low tolerance.

Mad Dogs on Amazon is pretty damned good too! I'm about three episodes in good acting and story.

      Ever seen Terriers?

It's by the same people and on Netflix. It's a one-season wonder, but it at least has a decent ending.

Terriers was awesome. I always describe it as Veronica Mars' Drunk Uncle.

Some people get butthurt because you play with them, but then don't go out of your weay to invite them to a scene that is highly specific (say, an Embrace, or a First Change, or one of those). And they see you and other people (likely who are more tightly knit to your character's narrative than they) playing and ask "is there room for one more", but there really are enough people in the scene as it is and one more would be a slog (or disrupt the narrative; or be one too many for one or more people currently in the scene, or any other reasonable reason). So when you say "i think we're full up", suddenly you're an exclusionary jackass and the whole game is horrible, or something.

      You know, perspective.

      Oh! Double post. 🙂

In the past I've balked at picking PBs which 'match' someone else's if they were in a movie or something together. So for example if I was using Keeanu Reeves and someone I was planning on playing with a lot was using Carrie-Anne Moss it'd strike me as weird. Is it just me?

Also I don't much like using A-listers. But that's an overshadowing choice, I feel people would be thinking 'Harrison Ford' or 'George Clooney' not 'Cadric Drowkiller' when they looked at the page.

      "I don't like using A-Listes." [picks Jake Gyllenhaal] <.<

I like taking my time picking a PB. Sometimes it has to do with the roles they've portrayed and whether I think the actor could fit into my character's shoes--other times it has to do with some in-joke with a friend. There's usually a reason for my PBs, even if it's something unimportant, beyond "I just like the look".

I just don't think someone making Labyrinth again is going to soil/ruin the original for me. It just doesn't happen to me. Make all the remakes you want, Hollywood, you can't ruin the magic dance.

I was wondering if there is a MU* about ladies and lords (middle ages) or ancient history, which wouldn't be build up according to the history of England, but more according to France or maybe something about Vikings? If no, that is what I would like to see these days.

Kushiel's Debut is literally set in an alternate history of France. Like, the actual, original definition of literally.

      @Sovereign

While I concur that people often feel wanted due to their own actions or those of other people, it is under-whelmingly simplistic to not include cultural or societal expectations into an evaluation of fixing what might be a problem.

If you're going to run a Vampire: the Requiem game, for instance, paranoia and power-mongering are essential to the theme and setting, and, very often, players have to bend over backwards to find a reason to be inclusive.

And I'm usually someone who is fine with bending over backwards to include someone despite theme stating that I would be perfectly within its scope to knock'em into a Sarlacc pit at the first chance I get. And then people push their luck. (Sometimes I push my luck. I think pushing your luck and taking big risks is the best way to have a great experience, but that's my opinion.)

I agree that @Sovereign's view is overly simplistic.

I think most shows take half a season to figure out who/what it really is. Once they get it rolling, things settle into place and everything improves.

How can it be a comeback? Comeback from what?!
