RE: PuppyBreath's Playlist
I played Rebecca on Coyote Trail. I think I only had one scene with Felix, but what I remember of it was that he was crude as hell and while Rebecca was miffed, I the player was laughing my ass off.

@mietze Meds might still help. Your neurochemistry is in overdrive which means it's either not producing/producing too much of what you need, and meds can temporarily assist with that. It's worth asking, and seeing as medications improve on a regular basis, your doctor may have something for you.

Culture Building
While this is applicable to Arx, I wanted to bring it up here in the general sense because there are lots of games where you can create subcultures.
I had an interesting exchange with a fellow player about an org I had written up. It's a county on Arx based on a coastal culture. I took some inspiration from the Ama, women in Japan who pearldive, and a little bit of Polynesian attitude and the like. In my write up, I mention pearls as an industry that mostly has women doing the diving, and tied it off by saying that since the ocean is the domain of a goddess, the local folklore is that women are the best at finding her offerings. So women, in majority do the pearl diving. Men are not forbidden from doing so, it would just get them funny looks and low expectations of success from others. Maybe some frowning.
I was asked what the men do that is exclusive to them and my answer was...nothing. I created a gender based task designed around being favored rather than demeaning, and didn't feel like it created a vacuum for men, or implied they were "lesser" as people. But I think I had a hard time conveying that aspect of it.
So. What are people's thoughts on culture building? Especially when you go outside of the norms of our contemporary modern life, or even humanity's past history?

RE: Good TV
@Auspice Nicholas Hoult took an utterly reprehensible historical character and made me like him.
He has a knack for playing assholes that you end up grudgingly liking (have you seen Skins? Because Skins.)

RE: Good TV
I am late to the part for the Tales From Arcadia collections of animated series, but I sure did love 3Below. Now I'm watching Trollhunters, which I know is going backwards, and I'm super looking forward to Wizards, the third and final installment.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Arkandel said in Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning:
I would say at this point in the game there is great urgency based on rank (High Lords have a huge advantage) and soldier ability. The more you stray out of these two niches the least involved you can be in cool things.
I don't know if I agree with this? I can only speak from personal experience, but my character is neither a High Lord nor a combatant. Granted, she is well placed in society and has a lot of ears willing to listen to her, but a lot of my engagement in the game has come from her secrets, the written in desire for social justice of the character, and my own penchant for world building. There are quite a few pursuits to be found for people who are in neither of the above categories, but some effort on the player's part has to be included in that.

@Alamias that is extremely kind of you, thank you! I should be fine, where money is concerned. My stress is mainly about the logistics. I have to send them prepaid packaging and it was implied that there's a lot of paperwork and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it.

RE: Mobile phone usage poll
Do you include tablets under the same category?

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Sunny I completely understand where you are right now. I've been taking Rock to the vet so often lately and for the most part his exams get conducted while I wait in my car outside, and most of the time he absolutely will not get out of the car unless I'm the person holding his leash. Everytime he's led away my heart cracks.

@Cupcake
It went everywhere. They went to Ireland, Egypt, Israel, Mesopotamia, all kinds of places. The Roman army was a big deal in later seasons of Xena, near the end.I'm aware, yes. I was a big fan.

RE: Good TV
Now that Titans is on HBO Max (along with other DC Online shows) I can finally watch it and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. I really like this interpretation of these characters. Even Raven, who is my least favorite, appeals to me. Dick and his life experience is dealt with in a very real way, and don't get me started on the awesomeness that is Donna Troy.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
There was a recent post by Hellfrog to the tune of "don't be sarcastic in your communications with staff". That was just yesterday, and today @lordbelh is bidding the game adieu. I don't know if that's coincidence or not, but I do know that if is, that's not behavior I associate with the player, who has always been patient and friendly in all of our interactions, even when I was being particularly neurotic (because it happens).
