#3 - Because I love the notion of a generational ship, and the prospect of in-game worldbuilding. I don't think "build a colony" is something that has much been done before.

RE: RL Anger
There have been accusations of Morgan Freeman having an inappropriate relationship with his step-granddaughter going on for nearly ten years. Combine this with the accusations and I'm willing to believe something isn't right.

RE: 'Inspired by' rather 'This Work: The Mu'
I generally prefer setting in the same world but in a different location ie, "But there IS a Hellmouth in Cleveland!", or in a "same rules apply" scenario where the FC's don't exist and are replaced by the PC characters created. The one exception to this are comic book settings, if only because there are so many characters to choose from that are "special", whereas anyone who plays on a purely canon with FCs game from most other properties are going to be in a battle royale for particular FCs (Teen Wolfers, take note: I WILL FIGHT YOU FOR LYDIA.) Add to that the politics and favoritism that can come into play when it comes to approving applications for Features.
Sometimes crossovers can be interesting, but universal rules really do need to apply in order to make them work, unless you build in some reasonable way for all the ways to work while co-existing. And that way, friends, lies Project Infinity. Nobody wants Project Infinity.

RE: Good TV
Season 3 seems to have tightened its plot. It still has some stuff that's cringey--I honestly could do without MK's current motivations, it is something they should really have dealt with in Season 2--but in general, I think the show's got a tighter script.
MK's plot is currently the weakest. I just feel like his conclusion about things came out of nowhere, as it's been established that his memories in particular are not the most reliable of resources. It doesn't feel like it makes sense for him to immediately turn on Sunny without asking any questions first, especially considering everything Sunny's done for him. And the fact that Sunny is known to be up front and honorable when it comes to admitting to certain things. In a very "If you're still sore about it, come back and find me, I'll be waiting" kind of way.

RE: Good TV
@coin Season 2 gave us Bajie though, and some pretty great Widow backstory. I could have lived without the "meanwhile, in the underground bunker" stuff.

RE: Good TV
I was kind of worried about how Into the Badlands would work after progressing past the initial antagonist, but I'm pretty pleased to say the show is as engaging as ever. The new "bad guys" are great, particularly because you find yourself questioning whether they are the bad guys, and don't it seem like the good guys are the bad guys sometimes? Which makes the show even richer and more exciting.
The production and choreography are off the charts, and the casting is absolutely exquisite in terms of equality of gender, race, and orientation. No less than three different women are included in the primary ensemble, ranging in age from teenage to mid-40's and all of them are formidable in combat.
Season 1's LGBTQ inclusion was pretty subtle; a general nod to the notion that no one cares who you "wick", and then moving into season 2, we see a character many people believed would wind up as a male hero's prize discover her love for another woman and have that love (not the discovery of having feelings for another woman, just her love) further develop her as a character.
Anyway, I needn't have worried. If you haven't seen it, the first two seasons are on Netflix and are an excellent investment of your time.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@macha I dont do dog parks anymore. I had one incident with Rock, and thankfully the other dog was eventually okay, but I had to pay for the vet care and the owners were cool about letting me pay it off over a period of time. But that was the last time we ever went to a dog park. I know of various enclosed fields in my area that we go to, or if I want to take a 30 minute drive, I can take him to the greyhound only dog park run by the local adoption group that requires all the dogs to wear muzzles.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@jibberthehut This is exactly why when I deal with any kind of canine service, I have a laundy list of things i tell them about Rock, for their safety and my liability. He's got a high prey drive and can and will mistake small dogs for rabbits, especially if they are particularly fluffy, squeaky, or openly exhibit submissive behavior. I always carry a muzzle when i take him for walks or out to an enclosed field for his runs in case other dog owners show up, and I frequently don't let him play with other dogs if I see that they tend to play rough, because his skin is so thin and a casual teeth graze can have him bleeding all over the place.
That said, the amount of people who walk around with tiny, aggressive dogs off leash around here can seriously go fuck themselves.

RE: Interest check - Teen Wolf/Mercy Thompson MU
Which brings up another issue, as the structure of how werewolves work is different between the two franchises, so which one would be utilized?

RE: Interest check - Teen Wolf/Mercy Thompson MU
One of the things I appreciate about Teen Wolf as a setting is that sexual orientation is not portrayed as problematic. Having previously played on a game in the Teen Wolf setting where this was not the case (which tbh kind of ruined it for me) I'd like to know your approach on that issue, as it relates to my interest.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Amongst the many thrilling possibilities that comes along with diabetes (weight + family history = odds stacked against me) is that it makes healing much harder. Apparently I scratched a spot on my shoulder in my sleep, and I've had to see a doctor as a result. Doing both external and internal antibiotics, popping ibuprofen for the pain, and basically walking around with a half-supporting bra because right now straps are the devil.
Nnnnnngggggh.

what system are you using? Are you only allowing Ameican operatives, or are international organizations permitted? -
RE: Valorous Dominion
@lotherio One of my struggles is that things are pretty insular; at the recent party it felt like people were sticking by the folks they already RP'd with and I arrived late and felt completely at a loss. It's probably also in some part my own anxiety. But we've got at least two social events in the planning works which may help. Willing to take suggestions if you have advice, though?

@Arkandel The Arbores could use more people. They're basically a family of Da Vincis.

Greyhound Walk-Athon!
Hey guys, I know you all have heard me gush about my greyhound, Rock, a zillion times, and now I'd like to actually do something to help the group I adopted him from, Greyhound Pets Inc. They're holding their annual walkathon, and this year I'm participating. My goal is $1,000, and I'm hoping folks here might be willing to contribute. Even $5 can go far to helping a dog.
If you'd like to consider donating, please go here: http://greytwalkathon.org/seerockrun
Thanks in advance!
