Not that many people are familiar with it, but the production company based around The Tribe has refused to grant permission for M*s, it's been attempted by more than one person.

@Nein I can't argue the Marvel/DC crossover, but hey, time moves forward, right?

It went everywhere. They went to Ireland, Egypt, Israel, Mesopotamia, all kinds of places. The Roman army was a big deal in later seasons of Xena, near the end.I'm aware, yes. I was a big fan.

@Ghost I'm not going out of my way. I made it clear from the outset that I may be misreading your tone. As I have stated numerous times I don't always interpret those correctly, and I'm the one who initially brought up a colonizing concept. So it's not unreasonable you might have been referencing it specifically.

(If you're polling for interest) I, for one, would NOT be interested in a space colonization game unless it involved some other larger overplot, such as something survival horror, war, or other action-based dramatics.
Not really looking to get stuck in a sandbox of boys and girls playing HOUSE in a space setting. I would need more than playing house and the assumption that one-on-one relationship "character building" is a worthy substitute for my time and effort.
I may be misreading your tone, but it was difficult not to read it as being derisive and condescending of the idea I proposed.

@icanbeyourmuse Mostly Greek, but you know, at one point you've got Xena making out with Caesar, so there you go.

I think a generational colony ship game would be really fun. A giant colony ship that's been traveling for a couple hundred years or more, and the people living on it have just arrived at their colony planet.

I wouldn't mind if there was a game that had the kind of Greco-Roman fantasy world a la Hercules and Xena.

@faraday: I regret never having gotten to try Greatest Generation. I've heard all kinds of nostalgic reminiscing about it!

RE: MU Things I Love
When my character was a little girl, she had a crush on a certain someone. I consider this to be mental canon backstory for her.
Roleplay in realtime ultimately proved this paragon to be unreciprocating in feeling, at which point she tried to move on, and she did find someone else, someone who really suited her, and came to the realization that her childhood crush and she would have made each other completely miserable.
And then childhood crush finds out their beloved is marrying someone else.
My girl is sympathetic, but as I'm playing her, she doesn't even feel a twinge. Like...there's some nostalgia there for the young girl who had a crush on the young boy? But it's a memory thing, not a now-thing.
This makes me happy. I used to be super-bad at getting my characters to process emotional recovery from rejection. And now it just feels right. Right for the character, right for the story.

@Catsmeow: If you can find them, yes! It depends on the stock that a given consultant has. Patterns are random, and I imagine penguin leggings would be super hot and sell quickly. But I've seen a penguin pattern or two out there.
Today I am wearing black leggings with a multi-color motif of macaroons and lollipops and candies.

RE: Roleplaying writing styles
I have found that of all things, Joss Whedon has had a distinct influence on my writing style. On occasion I do make meta comments, but for amusement rather than imposition on other people. It's interesting how his style of patter has become so natural, and I daresay to practically an entire generation.

I actually forgot I even made them viewable on the website. I made them alphabetical. Thanks!
You're welcome. Thank you for doing that! It's going to make looking up help file details so much easier.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Some of the documentation isn't terrible, but a lot of it is, and what's worse, the available indexes for commands are so random. If you go to the commands page on the game's official website (I hesitate to call it a wiki), they're not in any kind of determinable order - sure, they've got category headers, but putting those commands in say, alphabetical order would be nice. The category headers are not intuitive.
The help files list commands often do not explain the context of various switches, or how the command it's explaining applies in context to the game itself. I genuinely worry that it's a big turn-off for newbies.

Lots and lots and lots of administrative jobsHey, @PuppyBreath? It's okay. We live in a society where there's this expectation that we have a GOAL and a PASSION for a thing that we do, but the truth is, not everyone is built like that. I'm in my 40's and have never had a "career goal" or any clear idea of any practical occupation that I could connect to as a passion.
