Diablo Immortal is a reskin of Endless of God, a previous Diablo-clone by the company contracted to make Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal is a reskin of a clone of a game. That's what has the fans pissed off.

RE: nWoD City Territory System?
One thing I would really like to see as 'core' to the idea of territory would be capping certain social merits like 'resources' and 'retainers' and 'allies' and 'contacts' and allowing specific territories to give you +1s or +2s to the cap. So having territories wouldn't -give- you free stuff; it would allow you to buy it.
This could even apply to magical things. For example, you can't do top-tier magic without controlling a magical nexus territory that you can channel from.
Another idea is the idea of 'Primary' and 'Secondary' Beneficiaries of territory. Only one person could get 'top tier' benefits from a territory, while their group could get secondary. You'd put your ritualist in charge of the magical nexus, your social butterfly in charge of another, your fighter in charge of one that gives a discount to fighting-stuff.
Etcetera.

RE: Good TV
I liked the music direction of Season 2 about as much as Season 1. In Season 1, we were watching the story of Luke Cage. We were in his head where his music was playing.
In season 2, we were watching the story of Harlem. Two sides of a war that was playing out. So we saw the story from their perspective with bits of the hip hop from Luke Cage who was thrown into the mix.
It was a lot more subtle, but if you look at the scenes and story focuses, the music tended to match whichever side was 'acting' at that point, almost like the music styles themselves were battling.
I don't know. Maybe I read too much into it, but that's the vibe I got while watching.

@arkandel Yeah, I got hit by the Salem breach... and the Ticketfly one a while back.
It's good to use different passwords for -everything-. I'd be worried if I didn't.

RE: Gray Harbor Discussion
Any restriction based on disabilities is cringe-worthy as fuck. You can say 'We want fewer outsiders/fewer of this profession/fewer of this archetype' but when you start designating that people can't have X or Y disability that's some nonsense. What happens if someone loses a limb on grid? What happens if someone apps onto the game who has that disability and prefers to play their characters with it?
Meh. It's just cringy.

@surreality I work with a guy who seems vaguely incel. It really creeps me out and worries me.

RE: General Video Game Thread
So... Mordhau exists. It is a first or third person multiplayer PvP medieval war game like Chivalry.
Even as an old man with slow reflexes I have fun on it. Kicking a door into a guy, knocking him down with it, and then decapitating him with my two handed war axe feels great.
It is super duper customizeable down to each piece of equipment you carry. There are no hackers yet. If anyone is interested I would love to play sometime. Setting up a discord and dying horribly over voice chat sounds like fun times.

RE: Risk
I saw this thread and thought someone wanted to have a MU Soapbox group that plays Risk together.
I felt cheated.

RE: Random Oddness or 'Is This Normal?'
I don't think vertigo is involved in it. I mean, I have had vertigo before but this doesn't feel like the world is tilting or off kilter. It just feels like really, really, super intense deja vu. Like a conversation or thing I know I've done before. And the nausea comes with it.

RE: General Video Game Thread
@Ghost The guy who created the in-game ad said it was like that on purpose, as that sort of exploitation is part of the theme of the game.
It might have been his purpose or it might not, but I accept his explanation.

RE: What game system would you prefer for a big-tent nWoD project?
@Livia That's... actually exactly how I feel. Aspirations slow down a MUSH. They're fantastic for tabletop but managing them on a big game seems like it'd be daunting as hell. Maybe have aspirations that are optional, but people can only get X amount of XP per week from them?

@auspice It's probable that the truck is stolen anyways. Stolen vehicles often get dropped off in apartment complexes.

RE: General Video Game Thread
To me, 'best game' used to mean the game I would spend the most hours playing/thinking about.
But then I played almost 4000 hours of a game that made me miserable.
I don't know what to believe anymore.

RE: What game system would you prefer for a big-tent nWoD project?
@Lisse24 Strong PrP policy and dynamic metaplot played out through individual focused microplots.
Which is buzzspeak for 'There will be a metaplot that is played out, ideally, through microplots directed at individual players or their friendship circle if they have one.'
Nothing is worse for a game than ennui. Players need to log in and feel engaged... But not pressured. I would love to have people sign up for plot-slots and just go down the list running stuff directed at them. It will require a heavier ST staff which will likely be the difficult part.
As for aspirations? They will be available but not a main focus. The xp you get from them will be less than free weekly xp. (I have not hammered out the xp policy yet. I only started working on this last night and would prefer to collaborate with others on core game mechanics and policies.)

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I used to have a job in a department store for 5.15 an hour. Regularly, I'd have little old ladies come in 5 minutes before closing time and stay for -over an hour at times-. I was told specifically I wasn't allowed to rush them or harass them and could only offer service.
I found out they were all from the same social circle, and they always -loved that the store would stay open just for them-. They had zero empathy for the fact that I was staying over at least one night a week on account of them or people like them. Just me and my supervisor who always slept in her office. No co-workers because they were shopping primarily in my department so I was the one who always had to stay over. Fuck working in the department selling housewares, knicknacks, and assorted crystal gewgaws.
And fuck people who go to a business right before closing. Fuck them right in the eye socket. It shows a lack of empathy. If you have a friend or loved one who, after -being informed of the suffering they are inflicting- keeps on doing it? Your friend or loved one is either a malevolent asshole or an inconsiderate asshole. The asshole part is certain.

RE: General Video Game Thread
@Wretched That being said, you also have people who like to revise and twist theme/setting. For example, the alt-right and historical settings as opposed to retro-futuristic.
So I think it's important for a game to have some 'edge' to it, but we need to be careful to not have edge for the sake of edge or worse, edge that alters the theme of the game itself.

RE: PB 'realism'
This whole thread is dumb. PBs are solely to decide if someone's hot enough to bang.

RE: What the fuck happened to Hip-Hop?
...you guys are missing the point of the thread. Hip hop started as protest music. Now it's basically just disco. That's literally what the video was about. It's not about 'what sounds good'. It's about a form of expression that has lost its way. We now have idiots with rainbow hair and facial tattoos molesting children and rapping about it.

Whatever you guys decide to buy, I want people to play DQ Builder 2 with.
