Yeah, I'm sure there's stuff being worked on, but most games worked on never get released.

Fuck Israel.
I'm not an anti-semite, I'm just against fascist ethnostates.

RE: How hard should staff enforce theme?
I started ignoring everything Warma said when he tried to justify there being a safe happy bar in the Hedge on a Changeling game by saying it didn't hurt the theme of the game. No. It hurt the theme of the game. Darkwater dove straight into Carebear land and never managed to get out.

@surreality Good luck getting your life sorted out.

RE: 1 Sphere, 2 Sphere, 3 Sphere, 4!
Some games don't work well in multisphere.
Promethean, Demon, Mage, all are horribly broken and don't play well with others.
Some, like Hunter, also work better in single-sphere but for different reasons.
Hunter-only would be a very fun game.

Neal McDonnough
@Arkandel Clint Eastwood as an aging Bruce Wayne would put a gun in his hand and have him talk to chairs.

RE: 1 Sphere, 2 Sphere, 3 Sphere, 4!
I would love to see a down and dirty street level Hunter game. Put it in a large, corrupt fictional city with rampant crime that is run by supernaturals from behind the curtains. Vampires control the city council, werewolves have some street gangs, Changelings are in organized crime.
The whole city is going to shit and it's up to the PC Hunters to clear it out, block by block. Start them out with only a tiny little safe haven (A dive bar, obviously) and let them work towards something bigger and better.
You can even keep it at the Compact level until things grow and Conspiracies move in. Night Watch and The Union would fit this kind of chronicle perfectly.
Worst case scenario, the game starts to fizzle and you can open the supernatural spheres up and be another City by Night game.

RE: RL Anger
@Rinel I want to second this. Visit him. Call him. Keep in whatever sort of communication you can. Let him vent all his frustrations and fears to you. Keep a brave face and wait until you get home to cry.
It's very important to have family that supports you when you're dealing with those sort of problems. Very, very important. (Support though, not enable. Never enable.)

RE: The Waiting Game
I've had a lot of experience with my RP being shat upon by someone else and needing a timestop... and not getting it.
For example. Let's say we have two characters. Bill, and Tom.Tom and Bill get into an argument and Bill decides to PK Tom. Staff is called in and, somehow, things go sideways. There are some really hinky things going on during the scene and the staffer stretches the hell out of (or even breaks) some of the rules.
Tom asks for a timestop so other staff can sort out the mess. Power A, by the book, doesn't work like the staffer said and there is no houserule on record about it. Power B either. Also Bill's friends Hank and Gary showed up right as the PK was happening despite being in a TS scene with Sue when things started, across town.
Staff refuses to timestop it because it would 'inconvenience' multiple players, but says staff will review the scene later and fix things as needed. Tom dies in the scene, as expected. A week passes. Two weeks. Staff rules that 'Yes, rules were broken but too much RP has passed so Tom is still dead'. Bill gets a finger shaken at him and told not to do it again. The end.
...so yes. When in doubt? Timestop everyone. TImestop -everyone-. Because this situation has happened to me multiple times, and it's bullshit.

RE: Gas Money
I'm a little tapped on money at the moment but I'd be glad to help if you need assistance getting over that final hump. I'm just kinda... burned right now due to moving/buying a new computer/buying furniture/all kinds of moving expenses of my own.

RE: What would a superhero game need to be/do to bring in a new player base?
It would have to lack feature characters for me to play it. I just can't get into that sort of thing.

RE: RL Sads
@Macha I've been there before and I sympathize. It gets easier with time and distance. If your family regularly makes you feel like an outsider you might want to consider a separation, even if it is limited.

RE: Play-by-post analog to MUSoapbox
Can a mod please split the derailment part off to a new thread?
Also please purge the new thread with fire if it's not too much trouble.

RE: RL things I love
It is nice to have someone say "I wish you worked 24 hours a day because you make things run so much better when you are around."

RE: [Eldritch] Sphere Caps & Waiting Lists
@Coin Renown should be decided by a small committee of staff and based purely on TS prowess.
Like it was in the oWoD days.

RE: Dead Celebrities 2019
He was my favorite modern actor. I loved all of his B movies. ALL OF THEM. My favorite was Omega Doom, a total Yojimbo tribute. Go watch it.

RE: Cybersphere Nostalgia Thread
He tends to get overly emotionally invested in his IC relationships and seems to tie some of his self worth to his characters.
To be fair, that's something a lot of people are guilty of. I just don't find the guy to be a 'problem' player. Your experience with him may be totally different.
I don't play there currently, incidentally. So maybe he's taken a turn for the worse in recent months/weeks/years.

@Auspice Steve Irwin was a jerk who ran around sticking his thumb up animal's buttholes until one finally had enough. That stingray is a hero.

RE: Cybersphere Nostalgia Thread
That's unfortunate, because Sindome is so aggressively boring.

@Rinel They're Mongolian. Let them be nationalist. Their nation is basically a puppet of China and most Mongolians don't even -live- in Mongolia anymore.
