It's a mashup of part of the cutscene from the opening of Resident Evil only redone with some kind of fuzzy pupper and done with a Dark Souls 'you died'.

      Gawd.

This is me, 100%. Even I am aware of it. As is my s/o, and my friends.

you can disagree with someone's game philosophy decisions and still like and respect them

Dude, have you read MSB? We prove this wrong like, all day, every day. Game philosophy someone doesn't approve of can get you on The List, man.

But anyway, repeating here -- @Faraday is awesome. She even takes the time to help me when I do incredibly stupid things, and even on the one point we disagreed on (removing the handles from channel names because I hates them, Precious) she was pretty patient and completely above-board. So.

Treat people decently,. and they treat you decently. News at 11!

This is an amazing start! Happy that people have a Blade Runner game to play on. It's a great universe with a lot of rich lore in it, and I look forward to seeing what you all do with it in the future! Keep up the energy, it sounds like everyone is having a great time!

I don't know what you teach, but I can't imagine pigs are that easy to teach it to. They are pretty smart, but there are limits.

Don't underestimate the anglophone world's desire for English to be the ultimate super language, or the lengths they'll go to to make that the case.

But I have seen some people that I would consider to be absolute pigs have very good grammar, so there's that.

It is still a thing, I don't know enough about website design to use it, so I can't tell you whether or not I like it. 🙂 I can tell you that it remains very popular in the professional design community, at least from what I've seen.

    • RE: Ideas you got from works of fiction

Darker fantasy has been really appealing to me lately. A Land Fit for Heroes, The Broken Empire , Cain's Law. I have been growing increasingly tired of games where everyone is the good guy and somehow manages to go from zero to murder at the drop of a hat.

Those books show that evil (or at best a very jaded and selfish Chaotic Neutral) is a perfectly viable playstyle, and that you can make them deep, interesting characters that people want to work with rather than mustache twirling idiots that cackle all their mad plans.

I will make a game for this. Someday. When I can reclaim my RL.

I'm actually kind of peeved that they made me spend time learning useless shit like geometric proofs instead of this. I definitely have not had to ever use a geometric proof pretty much ever, and there are tons of other ways to teach deductive reasoning. Excel is a thing I barely knew anything about in school, and oh look. Now that I'm in college, this shit is all over the place, along with statistics shit that I also learned nothing about.

I feel cheated. But Lynda makes it better.

Also, it was never a large game. It hit something of a perfect storm of people becoming very busy/ill/etc. all at once last I was there (a bit before the pandemic hit). So just a few people being knocked out makes a big difference, and we had a fair amount of that.

      For sure.

I just thought people would come back and such.

Not that I can really speak to that. I thought working from home would make RPing a bit more likely, but it was the opposite!

      Same.

I feel like I somehow have less time.

Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad Co. should be taught in high school. As a test of patience.

      <calmly wipes down the monitor>

In all seriousness part of my escapist fantasy is playing women with smaller boobs than mine. Because a strapless dress is part of my fantasy dream world, goddammit.

I honestly care about this more than hair/skin/eye color or combination thereof by miles and miles and miles.

I mean, maybe if we incorporate one of those winches they use for crossbows with, like, a corporate power corset or something?

I mean, you're a geek and a clothier. Surely this can be done.

Having to read, in detail, 77 pages of the Public Access Counselor's manual.

      Why?

So that I can prove that no, we do not have to leave birth certificates and driver's licenses unredacted in a public records request.

You would think this would be common sense

      It is not.

You would also think the legislature would have included these things in public access exceptions explicitly.

      They did not.

Appreciate your paralegals, people. We are the thin line between your private information and the people who insist they are entitled to it under FOIA, because nervous attorneys who take a too-literal reading of statute lists won't help you.

I use it at work. All the time. For everything.

Attorney's call me "where did you put the thing?"

"Have you looked in the notebook?"

"Do you use that a lot?"

"I use it for everything. Literally everything I work on is in there. You can find it at any time."
