RE: Three Cheers for Staffers!
I started staffing kind of on accident. I mentioned that I liked doing build stuff to a member of the (then current) staff. She, in turn, grabbed me and dragged me into a page convo with @Coin that basically said "Can I keep him?" So, I started as a build staffer, and fixed the little building mistakes here and there. After that, I branched out into Werewolf because that sphere was too much for anyone person to handle I even managed to code the barebones outline of a game system that someone else improved greatly upon. And the rest is history.
Power was never a part of the bargain. Except, I guess, me bitching at @Coin and @Thenomain that trying to build as a non-wizard in MUX is fucking tedious, and begging for power there.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
I liked Hateful Eight.
But in other news, has anyone else seen 10 Cloverfield Lane yet? Am I the only one who was seriously impressed with that movie? I mean, 3 people in a bunker, can't be that great right? Wrong. Laughs, tears, horror, suspense. That movie has everything. Just the right mix of dread and really, actually funny humor, and then a sudden ramp up into overdrive when it turns out to be not very fucking funny anymore. It even has an incredibly creative, intelligent, believable lead female character.

Again, the real issue here is my lack of familiarity with the setting. I have no trouble being active to find RP (or, have never had an issue with this before) but my preferred style is the kind that happens organically - that just never seems to happen without an IC grid people want to hang out on more than the OOC rooms. Then, when I have a good feel for characters in my newly-known group, I can come up with a plot that helps advance them/appeals to their chars or personalities. That's the storytelling I like.
Alright, so then that raises another question. What do you mean by 'organically'? Do you mean people just randomly wandering the grid? Because that only very rarely happens in WoD settings that I've seen. For one, the grids are far, far too large for people to just randomly wander about it. It's not a small village via DnD, for the most part. Usually, they are sprawling metropolises, or at least decent-sized towns. They have to be in order to hold so much supernatural stuff. So for the most part, people just kind of hang around where their characters would normally be, and try and find others in that area.
So, I mean, to me (and granted, my opinion is just that), it sounds like you might be looking for something that really isn't -there-, or even easy to support. WoD really does take a lot of OOC planning and communication to pull off. Nothing in the WoD really just -happens-. It all happens to further a plot, to advance a specific goal, etc, or happens to be a social thing in a specific 'hangout' location, though people bitch about that all the time, too.
So what are you looking for when you say 'organic'? Maybe we can help with ideas there?

Just don't be like @Derp and try to hit on my PC right out the gate... Creeeeepy.
I doubt this ever happened. I do remember telling you to quit your shit, both IC and OOC, since you and your partner were two of the most fucking obnoxious Arrows ever to come into my general vicinity. That was fun. But then again, all of your characters are generally obnoxious assholes, so why does that surprise me?

I fixed 'request <title>=<content>' from submitting jobs titled 'uest <title>'. I will miss that little bug.
I am transparently downvoting you because obviously that was a feature, not a bug.
In more general news, I successfully made it through my first WoD chargen here and everyone is very nice.
WoD chargen is the worst. I just went through it awhile ago, got all excited about my character (BLATANTLY STOLEN) concept, and then I get in game and no one roleplays.
It's really turned me off to most sandbox games, and even though I got all excited about BITN's concept I have to remind myself that 100% of my experience with WoD games so far has been a simple flowchart.
deal with obnoxious charcreation/app process
2.
Wait for char to be approved. Hang out in the OOC room with the intention of making friends to play with despite not really being much for OOC chatting with strangers.
3.
Begin to hate the OOC room, myself, and everyone else in it.
4.
Get approved! Get 1 scene with whoever talked me into trying game.
5.
Realize the bulk of the game just hangs out in that OOC room waiting for something to happen to go IC for. Despair of ever running into cool random RP (which is the only way I make friends in RP communities - still not much for ooc chatting)
6.
Stop logging in. REPEAT WITH NEW GAME.So, this might be a dumb question, but have you considered, you know... asking people if they want to play? Because from your flowchart it sounds like a whole lot of passive, and not a lot of active. And active is really the key to finding stuff. Even with active, it can be hit or miss sometimes. But taking advantage of what opportunities are there and attempting to create your own opportunities is really the thing to do.
For example, if you want to do something fun? Just advertise that you will be doing <FUN THING> at <FUN PLACE> at <FUN TIME>, and see who bites. Even if it's not a full-on plot, you'd be surprised how many people show up for a paintball and bacon party in the wal-mart parking lot. Or whatever.

@ThatGuyThere On almost every MMO I've ever played the max level is a given, that's when the game begins. The levelling process is just gravy.
But then again NCIS gave us this immortal gem.
I just... I can't even... no.

I have never heard this. But I'm officially stealing it. That is precisely how I need to tell my friends not to take me to politics things.

RE: White House/Political MUX
As much as I would want to play this... I wouldn't. I would find my eye twitching at every third pose and going on 'oh my god that is not how that works' monologues, probably much to the annoyance of other players.
So while I encourage this, I'm also big enough to realize I'd be one of Those Players, and leave the rest of you to have your funtimes in peace.

I absolutely promise to maybe look into adding Mage to my CofD stat system possibly eventually.
What about Promethean, Changeling and B̶̶̫͎̠̭͈̜̼̞̐̉̈́͆ͩ̈͆͟e̼̳̻̱̾͒͑͡ͅa̤̫̤̥͖͇͍̲ͩ͑ͮ̓͡ş̠̝̪͕̮̲̭̗͑́̑ṫ͛̊͝҉͏̝̹͖̝͈̩̰ͅ?
What was that last one? I can't read that. There's too much static on the line. Let's skip it for now.
I have no idea how you did that but I would love to know. Teach me your dark magic, code-wizard.

One of the big things I don't like about nWoD Mage rotes is that people on Reach were very quick to ask for existing rotes using different dice pools, to the point where I wonder why have specific dice pools at all. "I am scanning for life using my int + socialize". Er, okay?
The skill of a rote is largely set in stone, barring a few exceptions. (Occult and Science frequently get swapped around, for instance, because they're largely just different methodologies for discovery, with Occult being the first and foremost primary skill used in most rotes), but other exceptions do occur. Attribute switching often happens, because that's a more flexible thing, but the -skill- of a rote should be directly tied to what it's doing. Detecting life, for instance, would probably be a Medicine skill. Sensing another mind in the room would likely be an Empathy skill. Socialize is the kind of skill that gets used in a spell to charm the pants off of someone, like First Impressions.
So the alternate dice pools should really be restricted to using a different attribute, barring an exceptionally valid reason for changing the skill (which, again, is usually limited to an Occult/Science swap, and then largely used by the Free Council since they have a drastically different magical methodology.)
The attribute determines how you physically bring forth a skill. Doing an interpretive dance, for instance, might be Presence, but doing a series of asanas might be dexterity, while meditating and playing a drum might be like, stamina or resolve. That just goes on how the mage does their magic. The -skill- is determined by the actual -effect- the spell has, and the arcanum is self-explanatory.

And then whatever it is they are doing upstairs to make the dog bark. I love pets. Pets are great but damn people learn to teach your dog.
See, I can feel for those people. I have a big dog. Big dog barks at -everything-. I have tried everything in my power to get big dog to stop barking at everything. I have googled, and youtubed, and tried all the resources they've given me, and it still doesn't really help. At most, I can get him to stop doing it when he's within a few feet of me.
If you have suggestions on how to make barking dogs stop barking, I'm all ears.

I have, myself, found nothing on Nexusmods that I find interesting except the weather and darkness mods. The dialogue mod is also a must-have, because the game suffers from Mass Effect Syndrome where what you select doesn't represent what you'll say. A bizarre decision, to be sure.
One of my favorite mods (and granted, this one is kind of specific to my unique desires when it comes to gameplay) is the one that allows you to order Dance into/out of his power armor without looking like Slenderman. Putting Danse in better power armor pays off in the long run, at least in my opinion, and sometimes that power armor isn't what you want him to be in for specific situations, especially if you tend to play a more Roguelike character.

Looking for a NWoD Mage Game
So, is Fallcoast the only place that currently offers this? I really want to play Mage again. It's my go-to game in the World of Darkness. But I haven't been able to find many places that have it available, besides Fallcoast. So, help me out here. You know of a place that has it? Preferably the vanilla version and not too much in the way of 'kind of resembles the books but with so much homebrew you'd hardly notice they were the same'?
Are there any games in the works for this? I thought I heard something about @EmmahSue maybe coding up one of these bad boys?
